  1. Good honest way to look at the QB situation. I like the way you think, but God!!!! I wish you would get another avatar.
  2. Where are you now McD? I only ask because I am recently retired from the USAF and noticed your sig.
  3. They got rid of Trent very soon after seeing how he played in regular season games under real fire. After seeing what Fitz did with the remainder of the season, the majority of the season, they still give him a ringing endorsement. And if you had followed training camp, and seen Trent beat out the competition while playing in shorts, you might have done the same. In all honesty, I think they got rid of TE pretty quick.
  4. Well put. I'm afraid I just don't have your patience though.
  5. I was going to something similar. Man, I wish we could just get training camp started so we can put end to this madness.
  6. If you have so much disdain, go find another team. You are talking about the same guy that literally had a hand in making the NFL what it is today. The same owner that brought us 4 strait superbowl appearances. The same guy who didn't want the last CBA. For someone who is soooooooo inept he, sure has pretty damned good vision. I don't see you running an NFL franchise and seriously, what makes you think you are even qualified to make such statements? I get that you are frustrated, but you sir don't have a clue.
  7. And out of all that research, the OP can't answer the question for himself. Sounds like reaching for straws in a haystack, one straw at a time. Digging futilely for some shred of evidence only to finally ask the question in a public forum to see if anyone else shares his conspiracy theory. Dude needs to find something useful to do with his life. What a waste of time.
  8. When Ralph Wilson said, "I didn't get into this for the money" personally, I believe him. People always seem to think the worst about others. He became an owner because he loves football and was only hoping to break even or make a small profit, keeping the game alive. Is that so hard for people to understand? Another thing that really annoys me is that people tend to bash Ralph with derogatory comments about his age. Yea, he is very old. Where I come from, you honor your elders. You don't spew crap about how we'd be better off with someone younger and more aggressive. At least as long as he is still alive, the Buffalo Bills will remain in Buffalo. Thank You, Mr. Wilson.
  9. Palmer had a 61.8 completion percentage and threw for 3,970 yards last season on one of the worst teams in the NFL. Not bad when you consider how horrible their defense was(kinda like Buffalo last year). I'm not saying that he is a long term answer. He is obviously getting older. He still has some gas in the tank though and Fitz and Palmer have worked together before. The difference would be Palmer would carry the clip board instead of Fitz here in Buffalo and he would be able to step right in if Fitz gets hurt. Now on whether he would come to Buffalo or whether Cincy would even allow him to leave, there is very little chance. Minuscule, really. Still there is a chance and it would be worth looking into. Veteran talent at QB does not grow on trees. I'd snap him up in a heartbeat if the price was right. He was the QB of one of the most explosive passing teams in the NFL on more than one occasion. The comments about being washed up or simply saying "PASS" are pretty premature and thoughtless, I think. I can't believe I wasted this much time on this, because there really is very little chance he would end up in Buffalo. But that does not by any means mean that it would be bad idea.
  10. I grew up in Lockport and have been a Bills fan for a loooooooong time. In 1982 I graduated from Newfane Sr. High school, a small town just north of Lockport, and then enlisted in the USAF. I have spent most of my adult life rooting for the Bills from all over(Texas, Florida, Guam, Honduras, Saudi Arabia etc.) It's been fun. Being in the Air Force is interesting as a Bill's fan because most of your friends root for all sorts of teams. There is a lot of smack talk, wagers and some real strange methods used to hear or watch games from different places. Anyway, now I live in Potsdam, NY and still can't get enough Bill's football. I still go to VFWs, AMVETS, American Legions to watch games and talk smack with guys that have served to this day. Once in a while, I'll take the 6 hour drive to Ralph Wilson Stadium to watch the game and I am thinking about taking the RV for our next trip. All I can say is being a Bill's fan has it's ups and downs but I wouldn't have it any other way. It's not the destination that matters, but the journey along the way. Someday the Bills will win the Superbowl but that will never mean as much as the good times I've had all these years.
  11. It's OK, Hopepful. I was only making a lighthearted response to your last comment. No real criticism. All in fun. Wow, I must have struck a nerve!!!
  12. You should change your name from "Hopeful" to "Doubtful".
  13. Most of us know that Dareus is a rare talent given his overall high draft rankings and great college play. The real benefit though, is he is a perfect fit for the Bills defense line. He translates very well as a 30 front DE and a 40 front DT. Heck he can even line up as a NT if need be. This gives the Bills scheme diverse options we didn't have before. Having someone with rare talent lined up with another rare talent like Kyle Williams gives this defensive line a real boost. We are going to have a sick bull rush. With Troupe and Carrington now in their second year and our defensive scheme also in its second year we should see some nice improvements.
  14. I picked up on how the team has been following his progress for a couple of years too. It was also, the Bill's scout that told him to get his weight down under 400 as well. He certainly will get a shot at the very least.
  15. R. Rich, I always enjoy your posts here and think they are anything but meaningless. I am sure most TSWers consider you a valuable member.
  16. I can see them possibly doing that, but they need at least one more backup QB, maybe a TE too out of free agency. They may just stand pat at LBs and see how they do with a revamped defensive line. Also, Wannstedt may be able to get something more out of the LBs too. He will be LBs coach as well as assistant head coach. Overall, I am seeing things a little more optimistically. Hope the lockout ends asap so these guys can get to work.
  17. Yea!!! It was right on the tip of my tongue but I just couldn't spit it out. Thanks.
  18. That is a lot of linebackers to not have faith in. Honestly think you are being a worry wart. You don't think anyone else out of that group will rise to the challenge?
  19. 4 games by 3 points, hence the focus on D. Good one.
  20. And freakishly athletic for a guy that big.
  21. You never know with the media pundits though. They seen to just open their traps and spew out whatever pops into their peanut brains.
  22. I really liked Von Miller too, but that was only because I was absolutely certain that Dareus was going to be gone when we picked. Who knew? And I was most definitely not condoning the idea of trading from 3 to 2, BTW. Just stating it to show how silly the idea actually is.
  23. We got 2 linebackers out of the draft plus 5 more defensive players. What more could you want? All seven defensive picks to be linebackers? That's not very reasonable. We got Marcel freakin' Darius too who should help make the linebackers we do have look better. Pretty solid draft if you ask me. It's not like we didn't have some linebackers all ready on the team before the draft either. Liability? I am not so sure of that.
