  1. Thanks Beerball. Here is another one I missed: Yahoo Sports And here is a little more in depth info on the workouts themselves and some good comments by some of the players. Buffalo News
  2. I find it somewhat alarming that these workouts are being limited so much. George Wilson is telling the rookies not to get involved with the drills all together because he doesn't want them to get hurt. He is giving them sound advice because getting hurt at this stage could really hurt their career. We know though that this lockout is preventing them from really getting competitive and pushing themselves and each other the way they would in normal preseason workouts. Lets hope things change soon so the coaches and players can get together and and do some real training.
  3. A list of who has attended so far. QBs Fitzpatrick Levi Brown Brian Brohm running backs Jackson Corey McIntyre receivers Lee Evans David Nelson Naaman Roosevelt Paul Hubbard Felton Huggins offensive linemen Geoff Hangartner Andy Levitre Demetrius Bell Cordaro Howard Kraig Urbik defensive linemen Dwan Edwards Torell Troup Alex Carrington linebackers Chris Kelsay Reggie Torbor Aaron Maybin rookie Kelvin Sheppard Arthur Moats Antonio Coleman Danny Batten defensive backs Leodis McKelvin Jairus Byrd George Wilson Bryan Scott rookie Da'Norris Searcy long-snapper Garrison Sanborn. That's 31 Bills total. Some undrafted rookies were there too. West Seneca natives and Maine products Jeremy Kelly and Desmond Randall and Sacred Heart linebacker Bill O'Brien were also there. Some pieces from the Buffalo News Blog, by Mark Gaughan: The session was organized by Jon Corto, Fred Jackson, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andra Davis and George Wilson, and the players will be working out together through Thursday. The session lasted about two hours. The players did some conditioning drills on the field and some footwork drills. The they broke up into two groups - big guys and little guys. One group hit the weight room while the other did more on-field conditioning. Then the two groups reversed roles. Most of the players did some walk-through-type plays at the end of the session. "I’m definitely excited just to see all the guys that came in today," Wilson said. "It’s very encouraging. You see how hungry guys are and eager to get back to work. Guys spend their own money to get here. Some guys who don’t have their own places are staying with other guys or are paying their own hotel bills. So that shows the willingness and want-to to get back into the groove of things. We’re now almost two months into what our normal offseason would be.
  4. Try checking the links in the thread that I started days ago. I have been updating it with info as news comes in. Here
  5. For the Twitter freaks some tweets from Fred Jackson, Torell Troupe, Jairus Byrd, David Nelson, Felton Huggins and Danny Batton. Linky
  6. I'm not saying he is the answer but I wouldn't be real upset either.
  7. ESPN report on the workouts. Kinda disappointing because they are cautioning against getting injured. They could lose their pay for this. Kelvin Sheppard and Da'Norris Searcy are there. Linky
  8. Yea, I caught that too. In fact, I wasn't even going to post it but broken record made me do it.
  9. Yes it would. I always thought our former coaches were ridiculous with offensive play calling and wonder what Gailey could do with him. Not that there aren't other options out there. I remember how infuriating it was to watch games where it seemed to go like this on 90% of the offensive plays. 1st down - run 2nd down - run 3rd down - pass 4th down - punt The offense was so unimaginative at play calling, I wondered how Jauron ever graduated from an Ivy league school. JP isn't going to be a franchise pick up by any means but he is better than some of the FAs out there. If it plays out that way, it'd interesting to say the least.
  10. Yea, your starting to sound like a broken record. This is a message board that focuses on the Buffalo Bills................in case you haven't noticed. Here is some more on the workouts. Kelsay speaks to a reporter as he gets off a plane at the Buffalo airport. Linky
  11. Good observations. One more thing to add. For the first time in years, Fitz was doing a nice job of spreading the ball around. Everyone was getting an opportunity. All of our WRs did a nice job of getting open and it's a little too soon to be crowning a #1 or #2 receiver. For the most part, our successes were the result of Fitz just finding what works. Gailey probably had a lot to do with the successes as well. Trying to over simplify things by saying Stevie got the most TD catches, therefore he is our best WR is a bit premature. There are simply too many variables at this point to accurately make that decision. I believe, last year it was mentioned on more than one occasion that there is no #1 anyway. The point is, you focus on what works not on who is #1 and who is #2.
  12. It's my opinion that Whitner is much better than many here perceive him to be. His first round selection in the draft though has a lot people PO'd to this day and they just can't seem to get past that.
  13. I agree with you. People on this board like to talk about getting rid of some our best players because of their perception that younger guys can out perform them. Lee Evans is going nowhere. I've actually seen a couple of posts all ready suggesting we get rid of Kyle Williams. Serious. Fitz was relatively successful with the young guys because he got a lot of practice with the second stringers. Don't be surprised if Evan's numbers go up this year.
  14. He did have some chemistry with Lee Evens.
  15. More on the workouts at Sahlen's Sports Park in West Seneca. Some local college kids are attending too in hopes of being signed as undrafted FAs. Also, JP Losman is there. Linky
  16. I heard JP Losman is practicing with the Bills.
  17. Link opens a blank page. Merriman signed with the Bills last year and though I am not absolutely certain he didn't get a new deal, I do know that the original deal was for 2 years. Just because he didn't play does not mean he did not get paid for the first year. Otherwise, I like your post. After some research, you are correct. He got a contract extension that will last through the close of the 2012 season. Found it on Buffalo Rumblings. "$2.5 million in 2011, averages $5.25 million per year for the duration of the contract, and has playing time and performance escalators that could increase the value of the deal to as much as $9.25 million per season."
  18. Pow!!!! Right in the kisser. Feel better now?
  19. First off Lee Evans has not discussed money. He is still playing under the same contract. He has consistently been one our best WRs for a few years. And it is spelled receiver.
  20. I've been mulling over some ideas too. Got some gardening to finish first though.
  21. Nice topic San Jose. I'll stick with my Grizzly wintergreen to chew on though.
  22. He looked great in minicamp last year. He said he was ready during the regular season last year even though he couldn't come back in, so he should be healthy enough. Really looking forward to seeing what he can do game time.
  23. Here is yet another article on the workouts with some quotes by Terrence McGee. Buffalo News
  24. I think, coming out of college he was very immature. Young people. For some it just takes time. I think he does have strong work ethics, so it's not all bad. Maybe he'll turn it around(still not holding my breath though). At this point the odds are against him. It's very hard to change perceptions once you have all ready established negative ones. Chan Gailey's perception seems to lean toward the negative side. One thing is certain, he's got his work cut out for him.
