What is interesting, is everyone is assuming he will be a nose tackle which given his size, a perfectly reasonable assumption. He did however play offensive tackle his last two years in college and was more than athletic enough to do so, staying in on every down. Could he be a road grader? Most look at his size being a fit for NT, but don't be surprised if he is given some snaps at OT too. He may very well be a Jason Peters like surprise only at right tackle. I think Gailey has a propensity for thinking outside the box and may very well find a place for someone like this and it may not be what any of us expect.

15. If your best experience is the food you ate the last time you visited the Ralph, you might be a Bills fan. 16. If you have enough Buffalo Bills paraphernalia to fill a garage, you might be a Bills fan. 17. If your kids can't think of anything to give you for Christmas unless it has a Bills logo on it, you might be a Bills fan. 18.If your kids haven't been able to think of anything to give you for Christmas for the last 20 years unless it has a Bills logo on it, you might be a Bills fan.

If it was just a matter of not wanting to say something bad about the starting QB like the way it was with say Edwards,I'd agree, but that is not what is happening here. There are articles all over the place from several players and from the coach. The offensive linemen, receivers and running backs have had a lot of positive things to say. This is not just supporting the QB because he is their QB, this is supporting the QB because they actually believe in him. Read up on some of this stuff. I know a lot of people are stuck on their sometimes impressive knowledge of statistics but the buck doesn't stop there. They do not tell the whole story. Fitz has brought this group closer together and it's easy enough to see if you're willing to look. I stand by my positive outlook, not because I just blindly think Fitz is going to prove to be a world class caliber QB. I am just seeing evidence that good things are happening. There is a sense of commitment that wasn't there before. Watching Fitz play the game you can tell he is no Rogers, but there are certainly enough signs to keep a positive outlook. What I saw from Fitzpatrick was a QB that was as good as half the starters in this league, which is pretty impressive considering he didn't begin as the starter. In fact, he never has been the starter at the beginning of the season at any point in his NFL career. He earned the chance last year and it will be interesting to see what he does this year. I'd like to see him with a couple of good TEs, so I don't think the whole picture is rosey, but I do like Fitz as the starter.

I bet Troupe is feeling some pressure. Hope both Troupe and Jasper are nasty. Competition is good.

Harvey, I have to agree with you concerning the TE position. Yes, he can help with the run and also be a good red zone threat. The other thing that the TE or H-back does is help to disguise the play that is called. And we have been without one for a very long time. The spread offense is great, but damn we could use a few more tools in the shed. Defenses will get wise to our spread option pretty quick if we don't start mixing things up with a TE or, god forbid, 2 TEs.

I'm sorry, but your stat argument is weak. Stats can be used to make an equally opposing argument. Just like your weak argument on Evans liking Losman. I don't think you can find a single person in this entire organization that doesn't think Fitz can get the job done. Of course Evans liked Losman after achieving a 1000+ receiving year. You guys use stats like they are the only thing that matter or that even have any relevance. This entire team is backing Fitz including Evans but that doesn't seem to hold any water? Oh wait there aren't any notes that you can compare on the subject of having faith in his leadership, so all you can do is blather on about this stat or that stat. When will you guys start coming up with a more original and intuitive things to talk about? It's always franchise QB this and franchise QB that. You don't even know what a franchise QB is if you think it is all about the stats. Fitzpatrick is still the Bills' QB. Get used to it!

Let me see. The winner is determined by what? Who scores the most points. And what in the hell does Elway have to do with a discussion concerning Fitz? Nothing

Good post, John. I was thinking along the same line as well. If the defense goes from worst to top ten, even though Dareus has but 2 sacks all season, then I would say he makes a major impact. I believe a great player can makes those around him better, much like Fitz made the guys around him better last year.
-
I just don't understand your infatuation with all of these ridiculous stats. Chan Galey, Buddy Nix, Lee Evans, Steve Johnson and even a number of the offensive linemen have all expressed their faith in Fitz(I'll even find their quotes and post them if you like). I am certain I could come up with more names. Yet with all of this support, you still want to throw meaningless stats in the face of obvious progress. If you cannot see the improvement since Fitz took the reigns you are just plain blind. Add to that the effort to fix the defensive shortcomings of arguably the worst defense in the entire league, and you have the very real possibility of even more improvement by Fitz. Things are looking very good for this team but you are determined to undermine the faith that people have in a QB on the rise before he even gets a chance to step on the field again. Fitz is the Bills' QB. Get used to it!

I think I'm just going to post this every time I see people trash talking Fitz. Fitzpatrick is Bills' QB, get used to it. :nana:

For those griping about us not drafting a QB...

Uh, does Probowl ring any bells. Hellooooooo! -
Oh come on. Just how is that a factor with our horrible defense last year? If anything, the fact that Fitz was still able to score so many TD passes only makes his success even more remarkable.
-
What is an offense's job? To score points, right? What is a QB's job? To score points, right? Hello. Throwing touchdown passes is only the most relevant stat for a QB.

This. Apparently their shrink hasn't told them that they have an inferiority complex yet. Friggin' sissies.

Not even Heard? You may have to eat those words.
-
Once again? Man you have a serious case of tunnel vision.
-
2 of the 5 games you just listed, Fitz did not play in. Yea, that's not relevant .
-
Or not. Have to wait for a season.
-
There are a lot of them around and I have to agree with you, though we came to the same conclusion taking different paths. This is how you tell if a QB is any good. Scoring.
-
True. I think Heard is who the odd man out may be.

Eric Wood is quietly pumping iron so he'll be ready to welcome Micheal Jasper to the NFL with a pancake block. CJ is busy running at workout levels that are far more intense than he would otherwise get at a team workout. Note: This information is 100% pure speculation and can not be verified by any media source. But that's what they are doing. @ICanSleepWhenI'mDead, I really don't know what the Bill's policy is on playbooks(whether veterans are still in possession or not). I do know that the rookies have made comments about getting familiar with the Bills system and are discussing with veteran players what will be expected of them.

I think they are using a suckometer to do their measuring.

That about raps it up on the player's voluntary workouts. Here is an article from WGRZ about it. Linky
