  1. Great post and very true! The thing about the 1960's players is that it was a different era; my father and I walked into a Town of Penelton Bar and Marty Schottenheimer was drinking a beer and playing uecker. They were all just regular guys who held off season jobs; amazing how many remained in the Buffalo era.
  2. Excellent point, he is a HOF prospect and while in Buffalo very solid and involved in the community. Another class act! Another excellent point, what a great player and great character! My family held season tickets from 1960 - 1989, I really became a fan in 1964. Great era of football.
  3. Sorry, I would take Thurman over OJ in a second! Thurman had more heart!
  4. Some on this board need to chill wayyyyy out! Could not agree more about Joe Cribbs; imagine if the Bills signed him and Kelly and Knox stayed.
  5. I too have this Bottle of Champagne sitting on my shelve.
  6. i had not thought of that trade in over a week, you had to bring it up!
  7. Could not agree more; I attended a Rams game in 1985 and Eric Dickerson was in his prime running wild on a beautiful sunny fall day. The Colesium was half full and no one was into the game, contrast Buffalo with this scenario. In LA, on any given Sunday, you have the ocean and boating, surfing, fishing, many recreational sport activities, concerts, bike and running trails, hiking trails - much competition for discretionary spending.
  8. I attended NFL games in LA and it was not your typical NFL experience; boring to say the least. Many competing venues for the entertainment dollar and zero enthusiasm for the Rams or the Raiders. Not buying that previous teams were burned; why did no one in the NFL relocate to LA over the last twenty years? It's a lousy market, much like Toronto. And you have the facts to back this up?
  9. If LA is such a great NFL market, why no team for all these years. Truth is it is not a great NFL market.
  10. Hmmm "Alledgedy," I think you could state as fact he is the owner of the Bills.
  11. Great player and member of the community!
  12. I only get back to Buffalo once every five years and attending brings back fifty years of memories from the old War Memorial Stadium to the first pre - season game at the Ralph, then called Rich Stadium in 1973. I once watched a game at the old LA Collesium in 1985 when Eric Dickerson was running wild; the crowd seemed bored by Buffalo standards. Nothing like a home game on a cool, crisp, sunny autumn day with a sell out crowd.
  13. What if the Chargers waived Rivers and he signed with Buffalo!
  14. Good post, thanks. Bob Kalsu was viewed by many as the next Billy Shaw, very talented and personable.
