The Benford situation highlights what is becoming a good problem for the Bills...extending all their promising young players. We've already extended Spencer Brown, and Rousseau is up next. Then we've got Benford, then Terrel Bernard, then Kalil Shakir, James Cook, etc. There are a lot of hard decisions coming because you can't sign everyone, no matter how good they are. The Bills are going to have to prioiritize certain positions, let some of these guys walk, and hope they keep hitting on draft picks.

I agree. I think the Ravens are due for a down year and public opinion is just slow to recognize it. They never would have lost to the Raiders at home in previous years. Their o-line is not good and they have no outside receiving threat. They lost key pieces on defense, as well as their highly regarded defensive coordinator. I think the Bills are a particularly bad matchup for them.

That's why the Bills have been successful vs. the Ravens recently...they've taken the lead early and kept the Ravens behind the sticks. Lamar is not effective when the Ravens are forced to abandon the run.

The key is to keep the Ravens behind the sticks and/or behind on the scoreboard. In the Chiefs game, Baltimore had one good drive when they featured Henry, but the rest of the time, he was barely involved because they were (1) not gaining any yards on first down, and then (2) behind by multiple scores. Henry comes off the field on passing downs...He was effective against Dallas because the Ravens led the whole game (and because Dallas's run defense stinks).

That's why, all things being equal, it's better to have an "offensive" head coach, like Andy Reid, Mike Shanahan or Sean McVay. You don't have to worry about your offensive mastermind being poached by other teams because they are under contract and are already head coaches.

Cleveland is a bad football team right now, and I think the Ravens are highly overrated, as everyone will hopefully discover on Sunday night. I think Pittsburgh is for real and that they have found a formula that, while not pretty, can get them to 11-6 in that division.
