That's a strawman argument. When people say "let's keep TT", I don't really think it means "We have found our franchise QB in TT. Look no more." You see the difference? There's nothing wrong with keeping TT and drafting a QBs within the next 2 drafts (or however long it takes). Then let there be a QB competition until one firmly shows us the goods.

This is very true. You are recruiting 365 days a year. Plus, many dog-and-pony shows to raise money from wealthy donors. Then you need to worry about kids doing stupid things under your watch and their grades. Basically, you are the coach/GM/father/teacher of the team. You don't have to worry about contracts though.

It all comes down to your QB. The question should be; is your team's QB good enough to win a Super Bowl. If not, it doesn't matter how often you've been to the playoffs, you should be looking to upgrade. What do Stafford, Smith, & Tannenhill all have in common? They will never (did I say never? I meant never) play consistently good enough to win a Super Bowl, let alone even make it to one. To me, TT is an unknown. Sure, he won't beat anyone with his arm, but he sure can beat you with his feet. 6 points is 6 points.

Excellent post. For the people who say "the players should just tackle", it isn't that simple. Each player in a scheme has a very specific responsibility or role. When one doesn't know their responsibility or communication fails, the defensive stance falls apart because players have to leave their role to fill another, and so on. But, which player decides to assume this new role? This has to be efficiently communicated or a player needs to think and decide. This needs to be done in milliseconds and if it takes too long, tackles will be missed or perhaps not even attempted. Now you have players who are playing out of their normal role, trying to decide who is going to fill the void. Taking on a new role, they take on new tackling angles and their efficiency to shut the play down drops.

Don't forget that if they win the Superbowl, they will automatically be known as the best coach in Bills history. Who wouldn't want that?

When it comes to the Bills, especially with Whaley, you have to take everything they write with a big grain of salt. And this is very unfortunate because once a newspaper loses credibility, they lose a lot.
