  1. I would tell him he will be fired unless he does 2 things. First, fire all defensive staff, including his brother. And second, work with organization to hire a defensive coordinator that will have complete autonomy to institute his own defense.
  2. It does work sometimes though. It worked on the Washington kicker during the Thanksgiving game.
  3. If one reads this thread from the beginning, not just shooting off a comment based on the title, a lot of evidence has been laid out that Overdorf is not just a "cap guy". Maybe not a huge say, but he plays a significant role in making personnel decisions. Whether he should be axed for this is the true heart of this post.
  4. He's not just an accountant. Here's an article many on here may remember on last draft's war room...and with Overdorf negotiating our trade with Chicago. http://buffalobills.com/news/article-1/On-the-Clock---Inside-the-draft-room---How-value-and-need-aligned-for-the-Bills-/3f3d0d99-ba6e-4afc-994a-ed214208877d
  5. Why is Brandon Tate an alternate?
  6. Hopefully Rex. In fact, we can trade him for draft picks.
  7. He's another who may be benefiting from having a future HOF QB.
  8. On second though, I've thought I've heard of him before.... He's been around the block and has not had the success he's now enjoying. Likely due to having a dominant OL and a QB who's pretty decent. Won't work out here.
  9. Either of them. Open the vault, drill a well, or whatever, but don't give either one over a 4 year deal. And give the new DC full autonomy (and AHC title).
  10. Never mind that whiff. He was a coach-on-the-field.
  11. No comments of Tim managing to put "Rex" and "feet" in the same headline?
  12. Using that logic, why didn't the Bills offense get the ball back so quickly? Because the Raiders were a hot knife and our defense was butter. At the end of the day, the defense had to stop an offense.
  13. While he may not be the long term answer, he'll be back next year. Even if we drafted a QB in the 1st, TT would still start next year anyways. And remember, the Raiders didn't score 4 unanswered TDs against TT. If we would've shut them down like KC, we would have won.
  14. He won't have to. In the very least, he'll be franchised again. 0% chance he'll leave Washington this offseason.
  15. NE doesn't overspend because they don't have to. It doesn't matter who you surround Brady with, he will execute. Bad defense? Don't worry, Brady will out score them. and this is with Brady purposely not taking his market value.
  16. I don't think anyone was disputing this. A 30 second Google search gets you this: https://www.health.ny.gov/regulations/medical_marijuana/faq.htm If you were in "constant pain", you wouldn't be on an active NFL roster, correct? Therein lies the rub. There are excellent medications for Crohn's. TNF inhibitors revolutionized the therapy for IBD. In this day of age, most people with Crohn's are not living with pain or urgency to defecate. And if they are, this means it is still active (not in remission). These are the people that are not on active NFL rosters and the ones that need real help, not marijuana.
  17. Crohn's disease severity is along a spectrum. There are some who just keep it controlled with diet. There are some who have to undergo repeated surgeries. I do find it spectacular that Seantrel has had multiple surgeries and still has been able to make it back on to the field. That's nothing short of a miracle. I'm unsure if Seantrel is really having Crohn's-related pain, but being able to put that weight back on and get back into game shape makes me think his Crohn's is well-controlled. I'm unsure why he's still having pain though.
  18. I think you need to re-read what you quoted more carefully. Genetic modification or being "just discovered" are not requirements (bullet point 2). For example, hops (Humulus lupulus) have been cultivated by humans for thousands of years, but certain varieties are patented. Nor are they genetically modified. And besides, drug companies regularly tweak molecules in the very slightest of ways or alter their carriers in order to gain patent protection. Genetically altering a plant would be no different.
  19. No, I have not. Because it's not the standard of care for inflammatory bowel disease. I have never accepted any vacation from the pharmaceutical industry because that's against federal law, nor would I for ethical reasons. But, that's neither here nor there. Plants can be patented (https://www.uspto.gov/patents-getting-started/patent-basics/types-patent-applications/general-information-about-35-usc-161), so big pharma could actually make profits from cultivating marijuana, but they only invest resources into therapeutics that are efficacious. Either way, there's a lot of confusion being spread in this thread. This is not about marijuana being beneficial for inflammatory bowel disease. That's a red herring being presented here. It's about Seantrel saying "I've got doctors telling me this is the No. 1 medicine that would help your disease", his agent saying "he needs painkillers...", and this little gem "I hadnt even been thinking about marijuana until it was brought up to me by a doctor". These are undoubtedly lies. And he smoked up knowing he would get a 10-game hit. This is just Seantrel letting his teammates down and he should be cut.
  20. If a medical waiver was available, half the NFL would be making up various ailments to get one.
  21. Although it has some limitations (retrospective trial), here's another study, one that says Seantrel should avoid the pot: http://mobile.journals.lww.com/ibdjournal/_layouts/15/oaks.journals.mobile/articleviewer.aspx?year=2014&issue=03000&article=00006#ath Basically says patients who use marijuana may enjoy symptom relief, but are 5 times more likely to have more surgeries than those that abstained. No cause and effect link should be assumed though.
  22. Negative studies are rarely published, so you won't be able to find studies showing no effect. In the case where these are indeed published, they are usually very high profile studies (cancer, heart disease studies, etc). Anyways, keep posting studies and I will systematically rip them apart. As for the study you posted above, it wasn't placebo controlled, so basically useless. Plus, the Harvey Bradshaw index is outdated. It's not that I'm anti-marijuana or completely denying their potential benefits, it's just that there's no current evidence for their use in IBD. So, when I read a quote like this: "Ive got doctors telling me this is the No. 1 medicine that would help your disease, Henderson said last month. You try to tell that to the league and it seems like they didnt care too much. Either he is a complete liar or his doctors should have their licenses suspended for malpractice. Considering this is his second suspension and he has a long history of marijuana abuse, it's safe to say he's a liar and he's letting his teammates down.
