  1. Going back to the AFL days, the 1-12-1 1968 Buffalo Bills only victory was against the subsequent Super Bowl champion New York Jets.
  2. Panthers owner David Tepper.
  3. I guess absence does make the heart grow fonder. Is Carolina's GM trying to get fired or is this one on their crazy owner? They're paying him like a Pro Bowler when nobody else wanted him.
  4. He can't be worse than XFL refugee P.J. Walker.
  5. Only if OBJ can be our starting HB.
  6. The reason he signed Rhule to such a big contract was because it was rumored that the NY Giants 1st choice was Rhule and the Panthers owner wanted to beat out the Giants. After Rhule went to Carolina, the Giants signed Joe Judge. Lose/Lose.
  7. 1st I'll address the Allen at the top of the class. I have collected several 2018 draft opinions that were published that I printed years ago. Going to my files here are the results. Anyone who put on ESPN in 2018 knows Mel Kiper Jr. had Josh Allen at the top of his QB rankings. In fact, at the time Kiper had Allen ranked as the 9th best QB prospect in the history of his ratings (He now has moved Josh to #10 with the addition of Trevor Lawrence above Josh) My favorite draft expert, the late Dave Te' Thomas had Josh at the top of his 2018 QB ratings. The headline to his analysis is " On potential, Josh Allen is cream of the quarterback crop. Frank Coyle's Draft Insiders had Josh Allen 3rd, behind in order Darnold and Rosen, and ahead Mayfield & Jackson. He had this week's Jets QB, Mike White, at 7. Athlon Sports 2018 NFL Draft Guide ranked Allen #3. Their rankings in order were Rosen, Darnold, Allen, Mayfield, Jackson, Rudolph, Riley Ferguson, Benkert, Faulk, White, Lee, Lauletta, Linehan, Briscoe, Barrett, Kyle Allen There were many mock drafts that had the Bills trading up for Josh Allen. I think that it wasn't a very well kept secret that the Bills wanted Josh Allen. As long as Cleveland didn't take him #1 the path was clear since the Bills had a trade up to #5 worked out and a backup plan (the one that happened) at #7. So with all those mocks of Allen to the Bills, the "experts" knew something.
  8. Josh Allen, that's who. On draft day Josh said this about Bills management: I'm going to make them look like the smartest people out there.
  9. Bad management continues in spite of a change of GMs this past offseason. The last GM got fired in part because of the 1st move and what does the new GM come in & do?- moves 2 & 3. That's like buying a new car & crashing it a block from the dealer where you picked it up.
  10. The XFL will do wonders for him, he might even win a championship like JP did in the UFL.
  11. Any practice squad player would rather get paid the NFL minimum for someone with his number of years in the league than get paid practice squad money.
  12. He's there to back up Walker if Darnold can't play. He can't get a beating while holding a clipboard on the sidelines. Exactly how did Rhule's decision to keep only PJ Walker as Darnold's backup blow up in his face? What was he supposed to do? The team chose to trade for Darnold in the offseason & let Walker & Will Greer vie for the backup spot. Then like most other teams that carry 2 QBs, they added a practice squad QB as the 3rd stringer (James Morgan who is familiar with backing up Darnold). If anything blew up in Carolina's face it was the decision to trade for Darnold & dump Bridgewater, not choosing to keep 2 QBs & a PS QB. Once that decision was made, and the worse decision to pick up Darnold's 5th year option of a guaranteed $18.858 million, Rhule's hands were tied. If the GM keeps his job after the Darnold decisions, Carolina will be a dumpster fire for years to come.
  13. I miss Ruben Brown. Even at his current age he could step in & play better than Cody Ford.
  14. I was never so happy to have a game end without going into overtime as this game. The weather was lousy & I had a 5 hour drive back home after the game. I just wanted that game to end so I could go home & put the memory of attending the worst football game I was ever at behind me. I remember after the game on the postgame show one of the main topics was: Are the Bills Cleveland's Bi##h?
  15. There is no best team in the NFL in November that means anything. Last November the Bucs lost 3 games & fell to 7-5 after 12 games. The best team in the NFL is decided in January & February, not November. Right now a team missing 2 of its starting O-linemen and their top TE (really the only real NFL TE on the roster) can't be evaluated until these 3 either return or don't. Also don't be surprised if some guy comes in off the street & ends up getting significant time at RB.
  16. It was 3 seasons ago. Only a jerk of a reporter would ask a GM about a player he traded in 2019. While you're at it do you want someone to ask Beane why Ray-Ray is Pittsburgh's #1 return man & caught a key pass in their game winning drive last night? Might as well go to Vegas & ask Mayock how he could possibly draft 2 #1 picks & cut them after less than 2 full years? At least that question would be relevant.
  17. It's not even close to the worst. Try sitting through complete blowouts with such a bad team on the field there's no hope for the entire season. I used to live within a long walking distance (about 1.5 miles) from the stadium in 1977 & after walking to the 1st 2 games, getting so soaked I had to change all my clothes and watching bad football I didn't go to another game the rest of the season. I'd drive by the stadium on Sundays going to a laundromat in Hamburg and there was no traffic & I could see a lot of empty seats as I passed the stadium. A 5-3 team with a franchise QB will never approach the worst moments of some really bad Bills teams.
  18. Nobody knows yet. Either way when I bought my ticket to the game I wasn't guaranteed who would play & who wouldn't. The Bills fans in Jacksonville today saw a shell of this team that will get better as long as we don't lose any more key players & the missing guys come back at some point before the season goes down the drain.
  19. The O-line was down to Ford starting. I don't know what everyone expected, but you can't run an offense with no running backs & no O-line. Also no #1 TE who helps with both receiving & blocking. Once S. Brown comes back & Ford is on the bench & Knox returns, you'll see an entirely different offense. Just remember-Tampa lost 3 games last November, were 7-5 after 12 games & won the Super Bowl. It's all about getting this team healthy for the playoff push. Also, sorry Virgil, but the cost of your ticket doesn't guarantee that the Bills won't have key players injured. I'm going to NJ next week to see what might be a shell of the Bills team if they don't get Brown & Knox back.
  20. Dustin Hopkins for the LA Chargers win!
  21. You're right, the 1st eligible team would claim him off waivers & none of the other 30 teams would have a shot at him. So only 1 team, the team with the league's worst record. I stand corrected.
  22. Half the teams in the league.
  23. So you would waive Davis? Do you even know how a guy gets on the practice squad?
  24. Cousins must be a magician then. He somehow found a way to throw passes at the Vikings Diggs when he was playing for Washington. They only played together for TWO YEARS!
  25. Isn't that the same Cousins that Stefon Diggs couldn't wait to get away from?
