Gailey says while OT is not a crying need......
Fixxxer replied to JStranger76's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Late first rounder, but I will keep my fingers crossed for him to be available at #34. Bell - Levitre - Wood -Urbik/Hang - Carimi. -
What are you trying to say here? That Nix saw something in Clabo (who was a UFDA btw) and sent him to the PS squad so he could be developed by their coaching staff?
-
-
What about Captain Obvious? Is he related too? Regarding free agent FAs, how good are Miller and Boss's blocking ablilities? Who would be the most complete player of the two?
-
While I agree with you, that goes for any QB we might draft this year.

Jay Feeley on Sirius NFL Radio discussing CBA talks
Fixxxer replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great summary post. It was evident that the last deal was hurried to be signed so that football could carry on. In the meantime players got a sweet deal, they also agreed in good faith that if the owners didn't think this deal was good for them the deal could be voided. What bothers me is that now that the owners are saying that the past deal was not a good one for them the players start claiming dishonesty from their employers? Either way, it all started when the owners rushed to sign the last deal. They should have been more conscious of the potential problems the new CBA would bring. -
From the same link "When I asked about the pain he was in, about the big hit in the fourth quarter that left him awfully slow to get up,..." I think it was pretty evident what hit hurt him the most and up until that hit he didn't show he was in a good deal of pain throught the game. He obviously tried to minized the hit, which doesn't bother me. The point is, he will be hit harder and teams will easily gameplan against him in the NFL if he thinks that he'll have success running the ball like he did in College. If he wants to maximize the damage he can do with his legs he will first have to learn to hurt teams from the pocket.
-
I just listened to it and he says nothing about the injury. Can you produce a link? Another thing, if you say the problem was in the amount of hits he took how will he fare in the PROs when the people delivering the hits are stronger and faster than guys from College. Are you saying that 50% of his game won't translate that well to the PROs because he won't be able to sustain the punishment he will receive? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojHOMmBBTGw&feature=related

That is pure and utter BS. The hit came very late in the 4th quarter when Newton took off on a 3rd and long.

And that ladies and gents is football character. Hopefully there is football this year so we can see the jump in play this kid will show.

I actually read this differently. I think the mentioned teams are ones that will move if they can't build their respective stadiums.

The TMQ wish list for each NFL team By Gregg Easterbrook Page 2 Buffalo -- A complete set of jerseys from the 1990s Super Bowl run. Pat Moran:inside source has us taking
Fixxxer replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, I think I do. You can claim Fairley and Bowers are one year wonders, Peterson is a physical beast but he is a CB, I feel AJ Green could be the BPA there but he's a WR. I don't want WR or CB with the pick. I don't really like any of the QBs there, I like Newton and Mallett the most but the red flags are worrisome. I feel Jordan is the kind of player overlooked by bloggers but the NFL people have different and better grades on him. I like both him and Dareus, I think they will be good NFL players because of their versatility. -

Well, he's a senior with the experience and the production Nix covets for his draftees Plus he has NFL bloodline. Could not find if he was captain at Cal. I really like the guy. -
How far are we from GB? do we need a QB?
Fixxxer replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tramon Williams (UFDA), Tom Crabtree (from KC PS), Sam Shields (UFDA), Frank Zombo (UFDA) say hi and wave their SB rings at you. It matters not where they come from the important thing is if they can play the game. -
Oher had a rough year and even though they won in KC he looked awful on the wilcard game. My bet is he is re-signed and they move Oher back to RT.
-
Well, Carimi had a great week of practice and the one I think suprised the most was James Carpenter from Alabama taking care of the LT position for the South team.

Grooming Linebackers the Steeler Way
Fixxxer replied to Bilgewater's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do too put little stock in book smarts. My comment about Harrison is that it took him two years to learn something football related and made a splash in his fifth year, that is patience and I commend it. -

Fixxxer replied to Bilgewater's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, James Harrison is their best LBs today and he doesn't seem too bright, but I get your point. It's a great article, the Steelers machinery is something to be jealous about, there are no egos and everybody does their job. -
I fail to see the logic where a coaching staff is teaching the players certain techniques to help them be better and be prepared for what is coming in their futures as something a scout or coach from another team would see it in a negative light. Whatever Gailey and his staff did, teaching wise and movement wise (Carpenter to LT - Acho as a DE and OLB, for example) is has to be seen as valuable, not only for the players themselves, but for the Bills and the rest of the teams.

I think the Schotty did a great job, yes, there were some plays here and there that didn't work but he never panicked and kept running the ball. If the Jets open the the 2nd half with Sanchez back to pass this game is over earlier, he didn't panicked, he kept trying to run the ball and that early score gave life to that unit and team. The only problem was the clock. Glad they didn't win, I couldn't stand another week of Jets football.

Prepare yourself, the Jets will win it all

Not this year. -
Even Jets fans are sick of Fireman Ed

He ain't got **** on Elvis or the Chefs. -
Our defense just got better and I like it very much. I don't care much for titles, the important thing is that Wanny met with the defensive staff and he thought he could give a helping hand to a unit desperately in need of one.

Jerry Gray hired by University of Texas now Titans
Fixxxer replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wasn't Jerry very high on Mike Williams at the time of that draft? Am I remembering that right?
