  1. Yes, I think I do. You can claim Fairley and Bowers are one year wonders, Peterson is a physical beast but he is a CB, I feel AJ Green could be the BPA there but he's a WR. I don't want WR or CB with the pick. I don't really like any of the QBs there, I like Newton and Mallett the most but the red flags are worrisome. I feel Jordan is the kind of player overlooked by bloggers but the NFL people have different and better grades on him. I like both him and Dareus, I think they will be good NFL players because of their versatility.
  2. Well, he's a senior with the experience and the production Nix covets for his draftees Plus he has NFL bloodline. Could not find if he was captain at Cal. I really like the guy.
  3. Tramon Williams (UFDA), Tom Crabtree (from KC PS), Sam Shields (UFDA), Frank Zombo (UFDA) say hi and wave their SB rings at you. It matters not where they come from the important thing is if they can play the game.
  4. Oher had a rough year and even though they won in KC he looked awful on the wilcard game. My bet is he is re-signed and they move Oher back to RT.
  5. Well, Carimi had a great week of practice and the one I think suprised the most was James Carpenter from Alabama taking care of the LT position for the South team.
  6. I do too put little stock in book smarts. My comment about Harrison is that it took him two years to learn something football related and made a splash in his fifth year, that is patience and I commend it.
  7. Well, James Harrison is their best LBs today and he doesn't seem too bright, but I get your point. It's a great article, the Steelers machinery is something to be jealous about, there are no egos and everybody does their job.
  8. I fail to see the logic where a coaching staff is teaching the players certain techniques to help them be better and be prepared for what is coming in their futures as something a scout or coach from another team would see it in a negative light. Whatever Gailey and his staff did, teaching wise and movement wise (Carpenter to LT - Acho as a DE and OLB, for example) is has to be seen as valuable, not only for the players themselves, but for the Bills and the rest of the teams.
  9. I think the Schotty did a great job, yes, there were some plays here and there that didn't work but he never panicked and kept running the ball. If the Jets open the the 2nd half with Sanchez back to pass this game is over earlier, he didn't panicked, he kept trying to run the ball and that early score gave life to that unit and team. The only problem was the clock. Glad they didn't win, I couldn't stand another week of Jets football.
  10. He ain't got **** on Elvis or the Chefs.
  11. Our defense just got better and I like it very much. I don't care much for titles, the important thing is that Wanny met with the defensive staff and he thought he could give a helping hand to a unit desperately in need of one.
  12. Wasn't Jerry very high on Mike Williams at the time of that draft? Am I remembering that right?
  13. Do players consider taxes when they are potential FAs?
  14. obviamente que si....
  15. In the spanish language is the correct word.
  16. I bet Giants fans were unhappy when they kept bringing DL after DL (DE or DT). I would have zero complains if we keep adding talent to the front 7.
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Il_CUmjq88&feature=player_embedded Please, let the video load and go the 4:14 mark, he starts talking about Buffalo. I don't have a problem with what he says.
  18. As long as we the fans don't lose, I don't care.
  19. I voted nay to: Gabbert: Levi Brown did the same in Troy, play from the shotgun in a spread offense, to me this is a reach of epic proportions. Peterson: My premise is getting big and better up front Amukamara: See Peterson and I will add, you draft DBs in the first when you don't have as many holes as we do on our team. Quinn: big ?, what will you get with this guy? too many questions Von Miller: too small and dissapears at times in games. Huge reach here. Newton: terrific one year wonder, his wowability might not translate to the pro game. Is this a poser or a good kid. If you like him you try to find out. I voted yes for AJ Green because he has the production and tangibles you like in a WR but it is said this kid is a terrific kid off the field. He would be the surest pick in the draft, IMO, that is why I would be tempted to draft him.
  20. Breaking bad.....
  21. I think people view character as a player being good off the field only. Nix is looking for guys with football character, meaning that the player will breath, eat and sleep football 24/7 and not be distracted by his latest contract, the car he just bought, the crib he lives in or the fame of just being an NFL player. When you draft players you think you get that guy, but for the most part the player doesn't become "a good one" because he doesn't care much for the hard work he needs to put forward to become better. That is why I think interviews and background checking is very important when studying a prospect, they need to have the production but they also have to show the drive to be better by studying film and working in the weight room. It doesn't matter if it is Newton, Fairley or Peterson, you have to try and find out that their goals include being the best they can be at football.
  22. Lamar Houston might be listed as a DT in the drafthistory page but he played DE for the Raiders, similar to Neal in GB and Odrick in Mia. College players that played inside but in the pros were projected to play DE in a 3-4. Out of the group that people wanted for NT, you can argue Troup had a better year statistically than his peers. Are you going to tell me that Troup can't become stronger and be better and more consistent with hand technique? I guess time will tell. What I like about Troup is that it seems that he will put the work required to be better.
  23. If my brother played for the Jets, Pats or Dolphins I would hate the guy.
  24. !@#$ the Jets and Pats.
