This is what I saw, a defender taking himself out of the play. Why throw the flag? I have Sunday ticket and it happens all the time, there is some contact from a DB but the ball was not catchable, no flag. Today a Bills DL was thrown to the ground by the same technique and no flag. I thought it was a bad call by the refs. And what about that flag on Freddie for a chop block? How can you miss that play that bad as a ref? Gailey was furious about that one. About Wood, he is running hot and cold this year. He's getting beat at times. Today was a mental mistake I noticed at the beginning of the game where he failed to pick up a stunt. After that I didn't notice him in a bad light. Urbik play a couple of snaps for him.

Good thread Big Cat. Today they sent Reggie Corner on a blitz and two positive things hapened, the Jaguars were flaged for holding and Corner was able to hit the QB. After that? One time is enough I guess. We tried a couple of stunts but as FluffHead said the front four consisted of the all DT formation. Edwards needs to snap fast of this inept defense or he will find himself without a job.

Hate has no room for objectivity.

Sorry, but Troup was pushing his guy forward when he deflected the ball that Davis intercepted. He was one on one on that play, after that he was doubled a lot by the Jaguars.

For better or worse I think Whitner is one of the leaders of the defense. Kelsay is the guy other players follow in the weight room but unfortunately he can't translate all the hard work into production on Sundays. We need a guy like Talley, badly, someone that can rally his defense after a postive play.

I always thought it is a conspiracy theory that made sense.

Including our own Drayton Florence. Amazing how few games they won with like Seau, Rodney "Late elbow" Harrison and Jamal Williams on that defense. Butler and Co. did a great job turning around that franchise. The were right in keeping AJ Smith as the head honcho, but damn that guy is a hard-ass.

Good post Punch.

We play like a bunch of scared hienas, going backwards at the first sign of trouble. In four games the predominant formation was the 4-2-5 because we were facing Rodgers and Brady. We stood back waiting for them to pass, and pass they did, with high rate success. We're not running the 3-4 as we should, we're rebuilding and they should be evaluating who can play or who can't, within the new blizt packages, situational football and stuff. I fear that I misjudged Edwards hire, I don't think he's up to the task.

No doubt it's a big one and the reason we're 0-4 against some solid teams.

The only difference from last year is the ranking in scoring defense, I'm still watcthing the the same read and react conservative defense. We only rush 3 or 4, we rarely try to confuse the oppostion by blitzing here and there, make them think twice. The first time we blitzed yesterday was on the red zone in the 3rd qtr. Against the Packers and Patriots we were in our nickel offense, trying not to be outscored, which it happened in both counts. Edwards is in way over his head, he does not not now what he is doing with the players he has.

kelsay is embodiment of one bills drive
Fixxxer replied to milehiLou's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree to a point, I know he is a leader and he practices well, but he can't translate that on gameday, there are tons of players like him but you don't see franchises rewarding them with contract extensions. Expect for his contract to expire and make him a coach, he can't be the leader of the team if he can't make positive plays when they're there to be made. Today it must have been the first reverse he sniffed in he's carreer, instead of taking a shot at him, he hesitated and the runner made the easy first down. -

It is sad seeing this guy on the field, he had at least 4 evident plays to make something positive for the defense and he failed in every single one, and miserably I might add. -
Who thinks we need to go back to the 4-3?
Fixxxer replied to Beans90's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No at all. What they need to do is what they promised. Being more aggressive, this defense is conservative but it breaks too often. When Edwards came on board he said he was going to be aggressive and so far he has his unit playing scared. Hopefully he falls in the evaluation category because if more of this **** is served he is not the right man for the job. If you can't get to the passer or you can't stop the other team from running the ball, be creative, find ways to get to the ball. -
I watched it and Troup looked bad on that play, so? I still think it's stupid to question 2 rookies with only 4 games of experience, but I must be unreasonable here, sorry, waiting for your next great thread.....

Maybe if we post that they're right they could stop starting stupid threads. I'm trying different things.

What?? They are awful, cut them now!!

Will we see Brohm start this season?
Fixxxer replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brohm starting games will depend upon how inaccurate Fitz is with the ball. Make no mistake that Gailey will keep on playing Fitzpatrick if he manages to play within the system and keep those floaters for practice settings only. I believe Gailey doesn't care where the QB comes from, who he is or what he did in the past, if the guy he choses plays well he will keep on playing that guy. -
Thanks for the clarification Captain Caveman and GG.

I think the day the 2010 season started Edwards became a 4 year veteran, was he not?
-
Thank God, it was about time, good luck buddy.

I am suspicious of open roster spot
Fixxxer replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My guess is Brohm is the back-up QB going forward and they're taking time trying to figure it out if having a 3rd QB is as important as having depth on another position. -

So the Bills didn't try to find a QB? Todd Collins - 2nd round pìck Rob Jonhson - 1st and 4th round picks + stupid money Doug Flutie - from Canada AVP - kidding Drew Bledsoe - 1st round pick JP Losman - 1st and 5th round picks Trent Edwards - 3rd round They failed to find the right one but they didn't ignore the position. -
I don't know, watching the Jets and Phins and they called several holding penalties. I would like more consistency from the refs. A guy named DeVito goes untouched against the Phins for a sack and in 60 plays on defense guys like Kyle Williams, Stroud or Edwards can fight off blocks like they are retards? Highly unlikely-
