  1. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
  2. With so many attention whores roaming these boards I was suprised by the low count in replies
  3. hahaha, priceless!!!
  4. As Buddy said one day at a press conferece "Actually, we're not that far off as people think" I happen to agree with him, this roster is not perfect but it has some talent.
  5. Actually Forlan plays for Atlético de Madrid since 2007, Real Madrid city rival. It's a step below Madrid and Barcelona but still a storied team, their fans are known as colchoneros.
  6. Magox, I can't refute anything you just wrote because it's true, but I'm glad you made the distinction about Buenos Aires. Porteños (people born in Buenos Aires) are usually that way and not all of them are like that, obviously, there can't be a province/state where all people are arrogants. Are you in Argentina right now?
  7. I'm very glad you noticed that, because that is his esence, that is who he is. You may hate or love him, but he's authentic. His choices in life not always were the right ones but we're talking about a guy raised from the poorest enviroment ever, of course, that is not a good excuse, because there are lots of examples out there of humble people doing it the right way. But not all of those who elected the right path were considered a living God. Believe me some of his fanatics (can't be called fans) from Argentina and Napoli think that he is walking deity. Living with that on your shoulders must be hard to assimilate when you don't have the presence of mind like Maradona obviously lacked. About Germany and Ballack, some of the argentinian reporters said the same thing, that Germany would be a lot more dinamic without Ballack and that his injury will be a blessing in disguise for them. Hard to believe, but I guess they were right after all. Klose is a beast and I hope we were eliminated by the champs when is all said and done. In 2014 Brazil will win it, with ease.
  8. Yes in the argentine team. We have midgets up front or so it seems. Milito and Higuain are good but their presence intimidates no one.
  9. Sorry, I don't follow. Roma o Fiorentina? Adriano is a beast, if he can check his weight, as you said. When he is on his game, he's unstoppable. What about Totti? I used to follow the Itallian tournament when I was younger, when guys like Batistuta, Balbo, Simeone, Caniggia were in their primes. But now other than the WC I don't follow international fútbol.
  10. Traitor!! hehe. I liked Roma when Batistuta could finally win a scudetto after devoting his best futbol years to the mediocre Fiorentina. We're missing a guy like Bati right now.
  11. He never claimed he was better, he always says that, that is up for people to debate. When Diego talks about Pele, he talks about him for his off the field activities, saying the thruth about him, that he's so political that he ends up backstabbing you in the back. Pelé follows the money and will say whataver you want to hear if you pay him accordingly. For instance, what is your opinion about the WC being held in South Africa? (outside those !@#$ing vuvuzelas) Pelé was one of the few !@#$s that was against it, claiming all sort of BS about South Africa. And remember that South Africa held the Rugby WC in 1995 without a single problem. Maradona believed in South Africa and made himself available to Danny Jordaan (southafrican sport administrator) in any way he needed for the WC to be held there. What were Pelé's interests? We will never know but they were certainly unfounded.
  12. I heard that he's a walking god in Napoli, in a crazy way I might add. I watched a documental and the people there are like zombies for Diego. Where are you from in Italy? Rome? It is also known that italians from the north of the country despise Maradona. Why is that?
  13. One thing not to like him as a coach, heck, I don't like him either. And yes, he believes that players make the coaches and that he could reach or win the final playing like that. Very naive on his part but he believes that. I was talking about the coke remarks, not liking him as a person. He has many faults, yes he was a coke adict and some people could make the case that he still is, I won't go there. Yes, he said some of the most idiotic things a person could say, all under the coke state but the guy is transparent, and his heart is in the right place.
  14. Wow, why do you guys hate Maradona so much? Meazza are you still hurting from 1990? Interesting. Well, we lost badly to a very solid teams. Congrats to the germans and ajzepp. This argentinian team, for better or worse, played with their convictions, winning by scoring more than the rival without much defense and Saturday it showed Germany was in the top of their game and took full advantage of it. That was a very game by them. I prefer going out of the WC like this and not like in 2006 where we tied with them and lost in PKs. Brazil 2014, we will be there.
  15. I don't think Gailey will create the next best offense but he will use common sense, he will try to get his playmakers in favorable match-ups, something his predecesors never had a clue how to do it. When Gailey said that he wants to stablish a solid running game, he was not only talking about conventional running plays, I think screen plays and bubble screens are going to be a big part of his philosophy. Get the ball to the playmakers with room to run free. Next to this I feel crossing routes are going to be a big part of this offense, much like the Patriots do with Brady to Welker. Seek for a favorable match-up and work through traffic to get your man open so he can rack up the YAC. It will be interesting to see what Gailey does.
  16. He was pioneer for Brazil, manning that 5 position, the guy was a general in the middle of the field. As a coach he's not much different from the last two previous regimes. They can critize his players selections but since 1994 Brazil plays a very well defined brand of fútbol, that is, counter strike when playing against storied teams or solid teams. because they are the best team in the planet they could do that very well, but at times things like today can happen.
  17. Asst. GM Whaley embracing challenge with Bills By Chris Brown, Lead Journalist Posted 4 hours ago It’s an undertaking that only those with enough self-confidence and belief in the people around them would accept. Beginning the process of pulling a Buffalo Bills franchise out of a decade long playoff drought might not seem all that appealing to some, but for Assistant GM and Director of Pro Personnel Doug Whaley it was a new challenge that was too enticing to pass up. “It’s definitely a change,” Whaley told Buffalobills.com. “Change is sometimes uncomfortable, but sometimes necessary and I think it’s a good change. I’ve been in Pittsburgh a long time and this opportunity came up so I’m treating it as a challenge and new chapter in my life. It’s something where I can take what I’ve learned from my Pittsburgh roots and implement it here in Buffalo.” more.......
  18. Anything can happen in fútbol.
  19. I agree with that statement and if all this positive we see, translates to the field, it won't be utopic to expect players to consider the Bills when they hit FA. And about the problem with Nix age I believe Whaley shoud be the logical heir for the job.
  20. I was going to give examples when I wrote what I understand for upside, Bell and Peters were the two that I thought off. Bell still has upside no matter how bad a year he had last year.
  21. Unfortunately we're very good at it
  22. I'm terrified of Germany, they are a great opponent, they never quit, if they're up they give you nothing and if they're down they won't give up and will keep coming at you. It will be a great game.
  23. And to think they barely qualified (like us) to the WC.
  24. Someone with a good amount of raw talent that has yet to learn the fine aspects and secrets of his playing position.
