  1. They'll be as tarnished about as much as the steelers of the 70's were tarnished for their early adoption of steroids - not much.
  2. I don't see the difference between this and what Suh did against that GB olineman. He chose to raise the leg up with no other intent than to hurt reed. I loved seeing the looks on brady's face pretty much the fourth quarter, and especially after he threw the one pick. I could see in his mind "that couldn't have happened to me, I'm Tom Brady". I'm glad the pats* continue to prove they can't win the super bowl without cheating.
  3. I think what you're saying jw is Brandon is making his mark already, and I doubt the cloaking device will be getting better from your standpoint. I believe (hope) Russ has learned to stay out of the personnel decisions from his time at gm and he was pretty adamant during the presser regarding his involvement. Probably because he wanted to make his mark with those first round picks and it didn't work out so well. As for the coaches, I think the ownership situation is still tenuous enough that the "retirees" are not attracted. Also, why take a job where the organization has shown they will not do what it takes given the fact that we haven't been in the playoffs for so long? I think some very qualified people would look at the risk and say why bother. I don't think OBD will have enough time to prove they can put a winning organization together before the ownership changes and the coaches that have their choice probably don't even want to get involved. At least the roster brought in some interviews, but I think we're still 4 starters away from the playoffs and a few more from contending for the super bowl. So I guess what I'm saying is either we're going to catch lightening in the bottle or just be bumping along as we have been for the last 13 years. This job is not one of the premier jobs in the nfl at this point. Thanks for spending time with the rabble.
  4. Well, Danny's learned from Scott O'Brien who's special teams are usually among the best, so you've got that going for you. If you want to talk about coaching trees and all.
  5. I'll throw my hat in for Ogletree being better also. After watching him against alabama and a couple other teams he looked much better. I'd like to see him on the team but I don't know where his value is. I watched a couple games of Te'o since his supporters are mentioning his body of work and he looks like the same player all year to me, he was just kept a lot cleaner against the likes of michigan and Miami.
  6. Hopefully we're not drunk.
  7. If I remember correctly there was concern the Bidwell's wanted Leinart to sell tickets, and that was not the only concern about owner "meddling". Haven't paid attention lately, but when Wiz went there I thought the situation reminded me of our own from the ownership standpoint. Haven't paid enough attention lately to say it's still the same or if it has gotten better.
  8. Seemed to me he went north to get some head coaching experience, not sure if he would take an OC job without exhausting all possibilities for a HC job at the nfl level.
  9. Maybe they're just getting Whaley some interviewing experience. Don't think Buddy will be around next time.
  10. You need a qb who wants to do that too, and Cutler doesn't strike me as the type. I know big ben has issues with the short passing game and doesn't really want to do it. Probably another reason Chan thought Fitz could get it done. Chan will get another job sooner than later, I wish him all the best and I hope the next guy can get better results on the offensive side but I think it will be tough.
  11. I'm going to say because OBD is going to AZ first.
  12. I think it's because of a lack of talent. Same as "he's had too many coordinators" as an excuse. Both qb's were inconsistent and had their issues.
  13. Buddy has been pretty straight forward with the entire situation, they wanted to build the line and the overall talent and then put a young qb into that team to give him the best chance. I still think they need more players prior to a rookie qb being able to come in and play well.
  14. I think it really means they can let the phone calls from Ralph go to voice mail.
  15. If Chan thinks he can win with Fitz, why would Buddy look for a starting qb? I really don't get why people don't understand this.
  16. I wasn't, there are people ready to drop the axe. I tell them to shut their dirty mouths, they don't know what they have.
  17. There are some that are ready to, at a minimum Haley.
  18. I guess you missed Kyle Williams screaming on Sunday, huh?
  19. I thought Bryan Scott has looked out of place because he has not played lb in the nfl (to my knowledge). It looks to me like he has trouble reading his keys in the run game and plays tenative, which would be expected. Depending where we pick in the draft, the first round will be interesting. Might be a great year to trade down and I think that is going to be the only way we can plug these holes if we don't sign FA's.
  20. Per the bolded, I believe you will see Fitz for the foreseeable future, at least while Chan is around. Chan has said he can with with him and that seems to be why Buddy has not picked a qb up to this point and thereby attempted to fill other holes. So the learning curve should be hidden until the new qb is ready, barring injury. Similar scenario as freddie/cj, which I think is the way it should happen. I hope they take two qb prospects in this coming draft. We should have the roster space so you might as well try and hit on somone to groom as a future qb. I think teo would be a good pickup in the first because judging by draftek there don't seem to be many 4-3 lbs in the first couple rounds this year. Given that scarcity, I wouldn't be suprised if he gets taken pretty high.
  21. Could be, I just assume it came down to him or Easley.
  22. I could easily see where they didn't want another wr who had trouble staying healthy, no matter the upside.
  23. Moore attacks his man on the pass rush and delivers a nice punch when he engages. I haven't noticed much good or bad with him in the rush defense game, but I haven't seen as many rb's running free through the lines the last couple weeks either.
  24. If chandler gets inside it's over, there is no way for the db to get the ball. Chandler should have been able to get upfield at least a little. But I agree from a standpoint of I would rather see stevie there. But I just thought chandler looked a little soft there.
  25. I can't believe chandler got pushed around by a db like that
