Who besides Trump's political opposition, the leftist media and their *****/***** lickers thinks that the Mueller investigation shouldn't come to a close? -
Yes, way too much baggage with Bills fans (customers) and media and the Bills have 3 QBs in the fold. Bills can get a fresh look at someone else next year. Other teams that are tired of looking at their own crappy QB's more likely to consider Nate next season.

From your favorite media outlet, the NY Times. They make the legal temporary argument for Whitaker. In the Federal Vacancies Reform Act of 1998, Congress elaborated on those missing pieces. When a senior executive branch officer “dies, resigns, or is otherwise unable to perform the functions and duties of the office,” the statute authorizes the president to choose either that official’s “first assistant” (in this case, Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein); any other currently serving government officer who was confirmed by the Senate; or any senior official, like Mr. Whitaker, who served in the same department as the vacant office for at least 90 of the previous 365 days “to perform the functions and duties of the vacant office temporarily in an acting capacity.” https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/09/opinion/trump-attorney-general-constitutional.html -
WTF with the “feel bad for Peterman” posts?
keepthefaith replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If his life's ambition is to be an NFL QB, it's hardly over. He's 24 years old. 24! If he's got the competitive fire that athletes typically have, he'll likely get back to work on his game quickly. I'd wager that he'll be in a training camp next year. He'll get another shot at this. My gosh Barkley has thrown 18 picks in not many NFL games and signed a 2 year $3 mil contract with the Bengals before this season and after 1 good game the same people crapping on Peterman are yelling for Barkley to start. Josh McCown threw more picks than TDs almost every year for the first 8-9 years of his career and continued to hang around and get opportunities and finally had some break out stretches and seasons in his 30's. Point is that it's hardly over. It's a big setback but people can get better at whatever they do if they commit themselves to it. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Nate became a good backup in the league down the road. Doesn't mean the Bills should have kept him, just means that he's got work to do to get to the next opportunity. -

Isn't this simply a negotiation? Merkel and Macron have probably done the math on what Trump wants them to contribute to NATO and determined that they can collectively fund their own larger military and threaten to tell U.S. to leave or reduce European bases. They know damn well that Trump and our military leaders badly want to keep a European footprint. To me this is just like the trade disputes going on. It's way for Merkel and Macron to get Trump to agree to less $ from them for NATO. -

There is the Andy Dalton line which is referred to as a baseline for average starting QB's. Should we adopt the EJ line as the baseline for the average backup? -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - What Is It With This Team?
keepthefaith replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Regarding Benjamin, I have to disagree. He's a free agent at the end of the year and even if the light bulb goes off due to his agent ripping him a new one about his lack of effort and production and he does better the last 6 weeks, there is no guarantee that he'll continue to produce for whoever his next team is especially after getting a new contract. As for him the rest of the season, he's simply a rental. Deploy him in whatever role he can do some good, no more and no less. There is a reason the Panthers gave him up for a relatively low price and we're all seeing that now except for some flashes last year and even fewer this year. Sure the QB situation will be used as an excuse but he's not making much from the targets he's getting and he's getting plenty. He's the worst kind. Can Can't Will Won't X -

Uh, Jay Cutler. Now Jay wasn't great in 2016 for Chicago by any stretch but he had some good years with the Bears and was certainly the established starter. -

Comments about Nathan Peterman being a "good guy"
keepthefaith replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's best for Nate, the Bills and Bills fans that he move on. No matter how one feels about Nate's ability, it's simply best for everyone involved that he pursue his dream in another city. -
Matt Barkley (asking for a friend)
keepthefaith replied to McBean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He started 6 games for the Bears in 2016. Consecutive games I believe and I watched most of them and attended at least 1. Much like yesterday he's a confident guy and willing to throw the ball vertically down the field. He had a ton of picks, Peterman-like for all you Peterman experts out there. His arm strength is clearly a weakness much like Nate. It's doubtful any GM sees him as a potential starter. Yesterday, however, was probably his best ever game of his career all things considered. What fans liked about him in Chicago was his confidence, willingness to attack the defense and he had good pocket presence. He is marginal athletically and he made a lot of errant throws. Personally I remember thinking that he was a young guy then and if he could cure his tendency to throw picks, he'd be a great backup. The Bears felt otherwise and cut the cord with him. He's a well spoken guy, seems to be smart, shows leadership and has a damned the torpedos full speed ahead attitude on the field which are all good qualities. Nowhere near the athlete that Josh is and maybe even a notch below Nate in that regard. He looks a bit chubby to me, he's probably not in top shape right now. -
Start Josh Allen (healthy) or Matt Barkley?
keepthefaith replied to TonyBeets's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen for the next 4 games or so if fully healthy. The game experience will help him. Barkley might be a good backup candidate for next year and beyond. He's just come off an injury and is still learning the offense. Give Josh some starts and Barkley some weeks to heal a bit more and time to get into better game shape and play Barkley the last couple games to see if they think he's a keeper. DA can help coach them both up for the rest of the year. -

Yeah that's fun. So is throwing a cashier an extra quarter or dollar after they've already had the register calculate your change. You can shut down an entire checkout lane with that one. -

Notice that the article doesn't include what the writer or what Nadler sees as the critical comments made by Whitaker about the investigation. Could it be that the comments by Whitaker might be viewed as constructive criticism or fair concerns of the investigation rather than "hostility" by readers? -
You've got a dozen other games you can watch. Enjoy.

That's simply not true. Approving a loan for someone based on their income isn't favorable unless it's somehow way out of bounds. Private banks make their own credit decisions and often through a single individual and there aren't strict government mandated credit guidelines for something as simple as a personal loan. She'll have $14.5K of gross monthly income and a $25K loan with a 2 year term at 6% interest means a monthly payment of about $1100. That's not gonna raise any eyebrows nor should it. She's financially qualified at those numbers. Plus her being a minority helps as banks are required to show lending practices across the spectrum of race. Remember when Eric Holder was prosecuting banks for not meeting racial guidelines? If she wants/needs a loan she'll easily get it as could anyone that could show that level of relatively secure income and no other debt. -

I do. I think that a small private bank managed by politically aligned bankers will see her $174K income as being very secure and would write her a short-term personal loan for $25K or whatever her near term needs are. In a heartbeat. Yes. -

I was kidding on the length of the note and interest rate but it can't be true that she can't take out a loan of sorts? Elected officials certainly aren't restricted from borrowing money (not from or paid by campaign funds) from ordinary sources such as a bank or a relative or other private person. -

Someone will simply give her a loan with a 30 year amortization and zero interest.
