  1. That climate change is largely caused by man's activities and that a change in man's activities can stop or reverse it is far from settled science but for the sake of discussion, let's agree that man needs to clean up his/her/their act. You don't think lawmakers who want to change laws and who disagree on how to change the laws should make a factual case to support their proposed changes? We as a voting public should simply vote for them based on positions supported merely by soundbites and accept whatever changes they enact? We shouldn't expect or require better information?
  2. Check out the look on Monohan's face during the entire clip? It's all he can do not to laugh at her.
  3. Real world math is that the U.S. is the nation that has most reduced carbon emissions over the past 10 years. Real world math is that if we do nothing other than let current on the books regulations continue, the U.S. will continue to reduce those emissions. Real world math is that if there is a concern over carbon emissions, the nations that are not reducing emissions should be more pressured to do so. I've yet to hear a Dem in this political cycle refer to the facts and actual numbers on this topic. Instead they would have us believe (along with their media partners) that the U.S. is a highly irresponsible polluter with upward spiraling emissions and that we must act on our own in dire fashion to avoid catastrophic damage to the entire planet and all of mankind. The simple fact is we are already doing our part and improving year over year in spite of a growing population. Can we do a even better, sure. Should we, within reason? Sure. Are there CO2 recycling technologies being developed that are both economical and effective? Yes. Do we ever hear about that without having to dig? No. Now the White House and Republicans suck at delivering any cogent response to "The Green New Deal" or other unsubstantiated claims of doom.
  4. No evidence HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well technically you're right, Barr offered no evidence of improper surveillance. Would you accept the previously made public testimony of James Comey and several other current and former FBI personnel? The released FISC application and the renewals? Mueller's indictment of Flynn and others? The unmasking of Trump campaign individuals by the Obama administration? Seriously you're still not questioning whether or not Trump's campaign was under surveillance with no reasonable cause? It's only "news" today because Barr mentioned spying in a public forum making it really tough for the leftist media to ignore and many of their viewers/readers may be hearing this for first time today.
  5. It'll be interesting to see if any of the Dem candidates and their media counterparts will campaign/communicate a set of priorities based on the few large and actual responsibilities of the Federal government. Will they offer any sound policy positions on the big important things supported by real world math?
  6. Can't wait to see how CNN, MSNBC and their pundits cover this.
  7. Nadler simply sees himself as someone on a much higher perch than most others. He occupies the moral high ground and the media puts him there often.
  8. Good response by Candace. lieu like so many very are willing to engage in shameless partisan hackery even on camera. Politicians are simply too insulated from accountability.
  9. We really don't need the report at all. Mueller and several Trump haters spent almost 2 years investigating Russian interference and they charged people with crimes along the way. Those indictments, their nature, the court filings supporting them and the lack of prosecutions related to the broadly reported suspicions tell us everything we should know and none of that is filtered through the media or elected officials.
  10. 3 weeks is not a long time for us to wait for the redacted report. That's down to a week now. The guy is newly in his job and probably has a mountain of work to do not related to the Russia/Mueller investigation. A few hundred pages need to be reviewed, redacted and likely by people other than just himself. Given the scrutiny this will be under, taking a little extra time is warranted. IMO the President and his lawyers should absolutely be able to read the report before the public. All involved are subordinates to Trump.
  11. That's a giant problem in this country as it relates to voting. People will sell their votes for a few hundred bucks or not vote for something that might be for the greater good but doesn't benefit "them". Of course this assumes that people even understand the greater good or use a reasonable value system in their decisions.
  12. Another that is totally incapable of self-assessment. He borders on Avenatti incapable. Swalwell will be the next chump that Trump can refer to as a 1%-er. Swalwell will be in the consolation heat debate. Can't wait.
  13. Comey is a RINO at best. In interviews he's talked about his wife and daughters being lefties and their influence on him. Even if he's a righty, he's part of the establishment and/or never Trumpers.
  14. Odd choice of comments. Can't imagine it playing well even in his Ohio circles.
  15. He may be the best candidate from either party, although I'm not terribly familiar with his policy positions. His pragmatism in what I've seen is refreshing though.
  16. Polish up your resume and send it to MSNBC. You've got a bright future!
  17. Politicians on both sides of the aisle are not subject matter experts on many of the important things they try to govern.
  18. You get a bill and you pay for it. What's wrong here is we charge different patients different amounts to fix the broken leg. If the list price is $10,000 for the service, Medicaid pays the provider about $500. If it's a Medicare patient the provider might get $1,500. If you have good insurance, that might pay the provider $3,500. Also if you have the right kind of good insurance you might have a health savings account to pay any deductible. If you have no insurance you might get a bill for $10,000 and have no idea what it was going to cost in advance and also no idea that the Medicaid person got their leg fixed for $500. Also if you have no health insurance you are not permitted by law to have a health savings account. See how ***** up this is over here? If you're not able to pay for it then it goes to collection like any other debt.
  19. Health care starts at home with the individual being responsible for their own health. Beyond that, if people want to buy insurance for when they need medical treatment, they should have the opportunity to buy that and they should be able to choose with great variety what they want to cover or not. We should not have some providers for some patients paying 10% of list price while others pay 40% of the list price for the same service. Government over decades contributed significantly to the mess we have now. Obamacare contributed to the mess. Only in minds like yours will government make this better. Our federal government doesn't manage any entitlements fiscally well. To even begin making health insurance more affordable, we need to look closely at all the reasons it's so expensive. Only then can we make changes that will be beneficial.
  20. Yes, this will give her time to taper from her intense training regimen of climbing 4 stairs.
  21. I've gotta defend Joe here for a moment. He might be guilty of being a bit "handsy" here and there but none of the allegations are anything more than ticky tac IMO. Not unlike faux racism charges. It'll be fun watching him getting attacked from within his party and getting a taste of his own leftist medicine. The party of identity politics, victimhood and upside down priorities.
  22. Do you know if Barr has a legal obligation to turn over the unredacted report to Nadler and co?
  23. The report is being released with the legally required redactions.
  24. I don't know about that. There's a certain liberating feeling about retiring from work or working at whatever pace you want, getting a gubmint check every month, drawing on retirement accounts and basically doing whatever the ***** we want and paying a lot less attention to political things. Plus we'll probably die before things get really bad.
