Mueller in typical Washington fashion filled out the special counsel's staff with a bunch of crony beltway creeps. It's such a stark example of how Washington operates in a heavily insulated bubble. -
Are Tariffs The Right Way To Force Mexico To Help?

I think China may view Trump as vulnerable in the next election and perceive that none of the Dem candidates care at all about our trade relationships. For now China may give Trump just enough communication to keep him hopeful that a deal will get done but will simply run out the clock until election time. After that if Trump is re-elected maybe they re-engage. They probably see it as a 50-50 chance he's gone. Same for Kim in NK. -
Are Tariffs The Right Way To Force Mexico To Help?

Trump has communicated clearly what he wants. From Mexico he wants them to stop facilitating the passage of Central American migrants to our border. From Congress he wants law changes that will hasten the deportation of illegal immigrants/faux asylum seekers and the legal means to turn people around at the border. -
Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread

I think Joe may win the D nomination but I don't think it'll be an easy ride for him. Bernie and Kamala will give him a good run when the primary votes are cast IMO. Many of the early states may not "Joe" country. Also, if a challenger or two go deep in the process against Joe, could the D's get to their convention without someone being locked in? -
My belief is Obama was limited by his non-confrontational personality.

Don't know if this was posted in any thread. Very telling of our Senate both R & D that they won't consider a 1% spending cut given our debt. I give Rand Paul a lot of credit for getting our Senators on the record. The uni-party held a strong majority. Outrageous IMO. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/senate-trashes-rand-pauls-plan-to-cut-federal-spending-by-1-percent

Wow, surprised that CNN would air his comments. Some of that doesn't fit the CNN narrative for the past couple years. FISA abuse, working for the FBI, work paid for by Democrats? What say you Don lemon? -
There has been a move from the left to turn Texas blue for a long time. This comes from the addition of latino's, people relocating to Texas from blue-er states like CA and younger voters. As for any polls, too soon and Trump has shown to under-poll just about everywhere. Pollsters and media know it but they love to push that thinking.

The claims are that the FISA warrant against Page (and possibly others) was obtained with an improper application which failed to disclose certain information and included false information. Then it was extended 3 times and possibly without the necessary additional evidence. That's the rub. Trump and his DOJ aren't bitching that we have a FISA process. They're bitching that the process deliberately wasn't followed correctly. -

If true that news report, it's outrageous. -

Mexico and Central America have missed giant economic opportunities. Those countries have low cost labor and the largest marketplace in their backyard (the U.S.) and while some manufacturing and exports have resulted, they could have been like China in terms of growing a manufacturing economy. In addition they are full of natural resources yet haven't capitalized on that to the extent they could. These are cultures of corrupt leadership which is very hard to change. To your point though, we should be working better with them. -

In the words of Mark Levin, "the clapping seals in the audience". -
A whitewash would have been Barr releasing his summary and then withholding the report from the public. He's been as transparent as he could be. Now the Jussie Smollett case is a whitewash. Prosecutor tells cops to stop investigating, then drops charges and then attempts to have the records concealed legally. Prosecutor covered it over.

I still think Mr. Rosenstein has some questions to answer regarding his signing of one of the FISA extensions and the whole wearing the wire thing. Rod seems like a pleaser to me. Someone who will go whichever way the wind is blowing. It's already tarnished and he's been amazingly quiet. Wonder why?

Right after being fired - Comey leaked his notes through his professor friend. Knowing what we know now, Comey's interactions with the President and others have not aged well at all. Comey is asked by the President about leaks, McCabe, Flynn, and others and he's clearly not honest or forthcoming with the President especially with Comey knowing very well about the Page FISA and FBI surveillance, the entire Dossier and its origins, various leaks originating from the FBI and several other circumstances surrounding the Russian hoax. Comey should realize now in hindsight that Trump in the moment of their meetings knew some things, asked for answers and knew Comey was bullshitting him. Comey defends McCabe who was running the Trump campaign surveillance, leaked and handled the Dossier. Trump and Reince were testing Comey. Comey has stated that he leaked his notes in part to increase the chances that a special counsel be appointed. Sessions caved under the pressure. It (the Mueller probe) should have never happened. We know that now as it didn't produce conspiracy charges for Flynn, Page and others. Comey along with others bought themselves 2 years of cover. That had to be Comey's goal, to protect his cronies. Read it. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4442900-Ex-FBI-Director-James-Comey-s-memos.html
