  1. The Jackass should have his left hand on a printing press.
  2. It's turbocharged so it was a simple reflash of the ECU to alter boost, cam profile and fuel. Big difference before and after.
  3. When I read that your MB is a stick I smiled. Not many of us left that are brave enough or truly enjoy a manual transmission. Daily driver is an '07 BMW 335 (don't call me an a-hole or similar). Modest silver ( to match my hair) 4-door with 6 speed manual and about 60HP more than factory. A real wolf in sheep's clothing. An absolute kick in the pants to drive and when needed it'll embarrass about anything on the street with less than 350HP. Fun. Also have an F150 supercrew 4x4. Great truck. I liked how the Dodge drove the best but needed the longer wheelbase and 6.5' bed offered by Ford without having to get 3/4 ton. Fuel mileage is not horrible with 5.4 gas engine. 18-19 hwy. Newer trucks are even better. The back seat is huge. Can put 3 adults back there very comfortably. I tow 4000 pounds with it and unless you look in the mirror, you hardly know anything is back there and can still get 13MPG towing. Had an '08 for a short time that my daughter drove. Great car and in snow it was ridiculous. Put your foot down and go. Absolutely fantastic and like no other car that I've driven in snow.
  4. I don't think you can conclude "no longer a threat". At what point is someone no longer a threat? Would he have to lave the room to call police ad take his eyes off of the intruder? I think many would define "no longer a threat" as confirmed dead. No doubt the homeowner's behavior is strange but I think many faced with an intruder would not stop inflicting force until the intruder is motionless. If the law allows deadly force then I can't see him being convicted or even charged unless the intruder story is not true.
  5. Yeah, the party of yes has all the answers... Raise taxes = yes Increase gov't spending = yes Refuse to consider sensible spending cuts = yes Remove congressional approval to increase debt ceiling = yes Create and expand healthcare entitlement = yes Leave SS alone, maintain path to insolvency = yes Leave Medicare on path to insolvency = yes Leave next President $20T in debt = yes Give illegal immigrants an easy path to citizenship = yes Could I go on ad on = you're damn right!
  6. Think about the bag of crap that Obama stands to leave for the next President.
  7. The Tech boom in the 90's was a great economic time. So we all agree that a stronger economy, an increase in GDP and a reduction in unemployment will increase revenue to the fed. Obama as President has a gigantic toolbox at his disposal. He has a Senate controlled by his party and a Republic house that is chomping at the bit for pro-growth measures. He has access to the brightest economic minds out there if he chooses to seek their assistance. He has a business community and voters all of whom are tired of the economic doldrums we are in and those we face in the future. Yet with the interests of the majority of people aligned, the only tools he can grab from the world's greatest toolbox are the worn out taxing tool and the old rusty spending tool. Shameful.
  8. All the talk about raising taxes and not a word about increasing GDP. Even the combatants in the negotiations can't see the real prize, an economy that grows.
  9. I was with you until the word "second". After that I'd say you lost everybody and for good reason.
  10. I didn't say "branch" I said "body" meaning the dems have the senate and white house while repubs have the house. We both know the courts won't be ruling on budgets or tax rates.
  11. Boob jobs improve student attendance, participation and learning.
  12. It's painfully obvious that the democrats don't want to cut a nickel and would actually prefer to increase spending. They control 2 of 3 bodies. This alone is the problem plain and simple.
  13. You're right. Actually if we keep electing libs, we might get medicare to include food, clothing, a place to live and even cable TV. After all it's hard to be healthy without food, clothing and shelter and the TV is still the best place for them to expose us to their propoganda which will make us more likely to keep voting them in.
  14. We'll see where this ends up but the early talks and reports show clearly that democrats (this word does not deserve capitalization) simply want to move the social and economic justice agenda forward with no regard for the fiscal health of the country. It's nothing more than a shameful voter registration program bought and paid for with borrowed money and tax dollars. All of you who voted for dems this last cycle should be embarrassed and ashamed at what your party is putting forth thus far on the debt and budget issue. You can't possibly conclude that what Obama and the rest of the party are pushing now are good sound ideas. If you have any balls at all you'll get on the phone with your favorite congresspersons and senators and tell them to cut the BS and get us moving toward a balanced budget. Make meaningful steps in that direction. Once again, the uninformed koolaid drinking American public has been duped into thinking that a "balanced approach" would actually be carried out. Of course, the "balanced approach" was never defined. The phrase simply rated high in poll testing and became the party line. What a pile of steaming stinking manure.
  15. True story: This past Labor Day weekend I'm parked in front of a house in the city of Chicago visiting a family member. As I walk out of the house and approach the car, an SUV sideswipes my car and takes off. I jump into my car, traffic is very heavy but after some fancy driving I catch the guy. He tries to get away down some side streets but gives up and pulls over. He gets out of the car and hands me his insurance card and only says, here, take this and State Farm will fix your car. He's about an 18 year old Latino. He says he has no driver's license to show me and won't give me his name and says the car belongs to his mother. He gives me her phone number and when I tell him he needs to stay until police come (Illinois law requires police report for more than $1500 damage) he quickly leaves the scene again. An hour later Chicago police show up and file a report and file it as a hit and run. I call his mother and person answering the phone only speaks Spanish (I do not). I contact State Farm and long story short, State Farm insists that the person driving the car was a 54 year old man. Not a chance. Only 2 teenagers in the car when this happened. I argue but say that I just want my car fixed. To my knowledge Chicago never pursued the hit and run charge. $9K to fix the car. The kid's got his Dad, State Farm and the city of Chicago all covering his behind.
  16. Don't agree that Conservatives feel that everyone must be "empowered". The question to me is where do you draw the line? I think most Conservatives understand the difference between those that really can't do for themselves and those that should be able to do for themselves and also the difference between a temporary helping hand and long-term government dependency. We've drifted so far as a nation away from common sense government assistance that a move toward common sense is seen by many as a radical idea.
  17. Having lived only in CA, NY and IL, have to try a red state next.
  18. Real World? Do you mean the one we all live in with $16 trillion in debt and counting, a flat economy with almost no economic growth or job growth? The world where our government refuses to enforce immigration law and continues to allow millions to have entered the country and consume services funded by taxpayers and take jobs from Americans? The one where our largest entitlement programs (SS and Medicare) are so fiscally upside down that in future years the deficits they produce will dwarf what we see today? The world where the newly elected President has no intention of addressing any of these issues except to ask the rich to pay more in taxes which will do little or nothing to resolve these issues? The world where the bag of crap that Obama will leave for the next President will make the end of the Bush Presidency look like "the good old days"? Seriously, what world are you talking about and why is it that you and 52% of the population can't see why the rest of the population has no confidence that Obama can or will tackle these issues in a way that produces any meaningful results? You don't see the hyprocrisy from this man who blasted Bush for the debt he added and also blasted Bush when unemployment was about 6%? You don't see the hypocrisy from a man who claims to be pro-union and pro-the-little-guy yet wants to add 10 million illegal immigrants to the workforce to compete for jobs when we can't employ 10's of millions of existing American citizens? Please, tell me why balancing the budget, reducing immigration, revising SS and Medicare and adopting more pro-economic growth policies are such radical ideas only supported by "racists and wingnuts". Tell me. Like it or not, Romney and Ryan campaigned on ideas to fix these problems. Obama has no intention of solving any of these problems. None. You don't have to believe me, just mark the calendar for 4 years from now and let's take a look then at where we stand as a nation. The numbers tell the story now and will then too.
  19. First of all, look at who wrote the article you reference. Lots of credibility there, yeah right. I say the American people, the electorate got schooled. What are Obama supporters gloating about and why do they support him in the first place? What did we elect? Did we elect a President who is committed to balancing the budget? No, Obama doesn't care about that. Look at his actions on that matter. He's absolutely headed for $20 trillion by the end of his next term. Is that good? Will he do anything to help SS and Medicare remain solvent farther in the future? Sure doesn't look like it. He and his party are saying that these programs are "off limits". They are most certainly going to blow up in the not too distant future. Is that good? Are Obama supporters happy about that? Does anyone really think that the full implementation of Obamacare is a well crafted solution to the challenges of health care that exist? Seriously? No way a thinking person can come to that conclusion. It has already accelerated cost increases in the form of larger than ever insurance premiums. What is there to gloat about here? Does our illustrious President have any %(ing idea what policy changes would help to revive consumer and business confidence and promote more business activity and hiring? As President don't you think we deserve a more effective strategy than simply taxing and spending? Is this what Obama supporters really want, more of that? Really? That's the best we can expect from a President and we should have voted for that? Quite seriously, all party loyalties and bias aside - the alternative Mitt Romney wasn't a better choice on these issues? Our biggest problem is a selfish and uninformed electorate that puts gay marriage, amnesty for illegal immigrants, free condoms and abortion, race, a host of free stuff, union preference, blind party loyalty and a willingness to risk the entire future of our economy and country ahead of the big picture. So what is it Obama supporters that is worth gloating about? Congrats to the Democrats and the Media who have sold the public on their "plan" by treating every group special at the expense of others. I'll be retiring in 5-10 years. I won't be paying for any of these promises and special treatment or new citizens. Instead I'll be collecting a check and getting plenty of "free" medical attention. Those 30 and under, seriously, wake the F up. You are screwed. Very seriously, look at the darned numbers yourself and then use your votes wisely.
  20. Apparently the baker's union feels its' members will easily find work elsewhere at similar wages so there was no incentive for them to renegotiate. Jobs are plentiful out there. No way would they stand on principle and stupidity, right?
  21. And so the spiral continues. Government borrows and spends and has to at least pay interest on the borrowing. This leads to either more borrowing and spending or greater taxation to reduce borrowing. More taxation leads to less demand. The fiscal problems at the fed level lead to lowered consumer and business confidence which further suppresses demand. While we're at it let's add 10+ million to the labor force in the form of immigrants to further enlarge the labor surplus. So where does it end? Interest on national debt getting close to 15% of the annual budget and increasing as a percentage of that budget every year. At some point this thing blows up.
  22. A guy at work today brought in a box of cupcakes, ho-ho's, twinkies and zingers. We all ate too much but the discussion about the Hostess situation was priceless. Yeah. If we can eliminate or greatly reduce the food you eat with sugar, white flour and hydrogenated oils, we do ourselves a huge favor.
  23. They're just setting up a scenario where Obama can swoop in and save the day. He needs time to get his cape ironed. It got wrinkled yesterday as he toured the NY area and accepted accolades from Governor Cuomo for saving the east coast from peril.
  24. Bills - Phins not matter Both have sucked for a long time the rival fire gone
  25. This question gets asked in many circles and publically I have rarely heard a Democrat answer the question. I think that's because deep down many really feel that the government should be able to take whatever it wants or needs and people are afraid to say that. I'll put a number out there. I think the combination of state and fed income tax should never exceed 33% no matter how much a person earns. Obviously we're much higher than that now in many places and headed higher. Very few pay taxes only at cap gains rates. A good argument can be made that cap gains taxes on investments should be 0. The question then is how do you define "investment"?
