  1. I support the death penalty but would prefer that we make incarceration shorter, much harsher and finish with a much improved effort to rehabilitate all inmates except those on death row.
  2. The kids were pretty responsible, using condoms and not drinking and driving.
  3. $410 million is a hefty price for the brand. They'll need to sell a bunch of twinkies, ho-ho's and the rest.
  4. i like to look at wealth disparity more as effort disparity. What would we find if we shadowed people daily (who end up on the bottom of the economic ladder) from early childhood into adulthood and compared what we saw there compared to people who get to the top of the economic ladder? I believe that more often than not we would see a huge disparity in effort and commitment which over days, weeks, months and years would go a long way toward explaining why some do better economically than others.
  5. Republicans will not gain votes by passing immigration reform nor will they lose votes by not passing it. Mark these words. Immigrants who are mostly on the bottom of the economic ladder will continue to vote for the party that offers benefits.
  6. I'd be happy with Christie as the next president but it's too soon for me to narrow down to a single choice. No doubt though that he has ruffled Republican and Conservative feathers since October of last year. There are others I'd prefer to him, one of which is Jim Demint who's probably not running. Obama will have soaring popularity numbers among the liberal crowd and low information voters after he leaves office IMO, and he'll be everywhere to feed his craving for attention.
  7. Not surprising but disappointing for sure. Maybe we'll get a list of who did and who didn't in the coming days.
  8. Best post in this thread right there.
  9. A terrific film is available on this subject. I believe it was released in the last 90 days and Rubio is confronted on the matter in the film. www.theycometoamerica.com
  10. Agree. No Republican could have won the '08 election. Bush left under terrible economic conditions and spent 8 years managing wars. His presidency was among the least productive ever IMO. He didn't address debt, deficit (spending) or immigration. Of course he had no help from the House or Senate. Hilary remains bitter I'm sure as this election was a sure thing for whoever was the Democrat nominee. Both Obama and Bush deserve to have toilet numbers in terms of approval rating but in true American fashion, party loyalty and cluelessness among voters trumps common sense and math. One thing's for sure, this country desperately needs a President with a no bull leadership style, a capable administration of high integrity and an agenda built on mostly conservative values. Simpleton tax and spend Liberals can't fix anything.
  11. Benghazi should really rub people wrong because for sure it involved the President, SOS and others of high rank and the efforts to cover the truth are so obvious and indisputable. That and to deliberately abandon our citizens in the face of an attack is inexcusable. Democrats (elected or otherwise) have really shown their colors on this one by remaining mostly silent or by dishonestly defending those involved.
  12. Liberal politicians can't get elected without redistributive policies. Liberal voters actually believe that those on the bottom of the economic ladder are mostly there due to a system that is rigged against them. They also often feel great animosity and jealously toward the rich without any regard or understanding how some do get "rich". Some like Obama actually are on record saying that the civil rights movement failed to compensate or provide economic justice to those that it intended to help. And finally liberals often interpret "the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" to include government provided food, clothing, shelter, education, healthcare and as of this last January's state of the union address - daycare and pre-school. All these as a birthright.
  13. This from a relative's boat and perfect for a Bills fan looking to relax.... "It Just Doesn't Matter"
  14. Obama wants absolutely nothing to do with wars, terrorism or global conflicts. It distracts from his Robin Hood agenda which is all he really knows and cares about.
  15. Father filed suit without an attorney. Translation, No lawyer wanted to take the case on a contingency. Track is a sport where you can get as much attention or more from colleges running AAU or USATF indoor and summer seasons. That and it's rare you get really good coaching from a high school program. Top track athletes get private or club coaching. Filing the suit won't help his college chances.
  16. I do not have a problem with paying people in position like this $140K or more. I do have a problem with the pensions that are typically provided at the state and federal level and more importantly, the performance of the people in these jobs. If they performed better, it would be worth paying them a bunch.
  17. Reminds me of this, still one of my favorites.
  18. How the heck can you defend what has happened? It's obvious now that requests for more security prior to the attack were ignored. It's obvious now that on the day of the attack the decision was made not to make any effort to defend our people. It's obvious now that Susan Rice was told to spin the truth. It's obvious now that it was known all along to have been a planned attack and that everyone from Obama on down were told what to say and that was not to be the truth. This doesn't bother you? It's OK? It doesn't matter? Obama's position on terrorism has been to shove it mostly under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist. He has a similar tactic on our debt and immigration. He ignores the problem and allows it to grow because it's politically advantageous for him and supports the only real agenda for which he has passion which is to provide benefits to the bottom of the economic ladder at the expense of the productive. Achieving "fairness" in our society is all he really cares about. The rest is either white noise or inconvenient.
  19. You're killing yourself here. There comes a point where every fan has to admit when their beloved team !@#$ed up. That point on this topic came for you and all your liberal fanboys last week. Frankly, over the past 4+ years you should have had many of those moments. Obama and his band of dysfunctional amateurs have bumbled like the expansion Tampa Bay Bucs. And Obama comes out today and says the Benghazi probe is a sideshow after the facts against him and his admin are piling up? He just stepped in it today.
  20. Fundraising still in full swing. Amazing.
  21. Maybe ABC has figured out that there is a marketplace for the truth in their industry.
  22. Lee Evans has JP Losman to thank for whatever success he had.
  23. We just got our rates today for our upcoming annual renewal. Company of about 13 people and the renewal rate (Blue Cross) for the same coverage will increase by 51%. Our increases over the past 3 years have averaged about 25% per year. Other than everyone getting a year older, not much has changed and nobody here has had a large claim. Welcome to Obamacare people.
  24. Yeah there should be but Democrats will still support her if she runs in '16 as they always support their liberal heroes regardless of character.
