  1. \ Silly me. Money these days is just numbers on a computer screen or bank statement or a transaction from something the size of a credit card. In it's most tangible form it's nothing more than fancy ink on really good quality paper. Let's just give people whatever they need and let them use cards or transactions from a keyboard to "pay" for everything. All this bickering is so tiresome and working for things is so overrated.
  2. I'd say that both parties are guilty of this and of making a lot of short term decisions and political maneuvers. Do we ever get a good quality solution to anything?
  3. I think you're half right here. Completely agree that employer provided health insurance should be scrapped. It's dumb on so many levels. Let people shop for and buy whatever health insurance they want. Add tax credits in the tax code for health insurance/health care costs. We have government provided health care in Medicaid and Medicare. Both are causing state and federal governments to go broke. Putting everyone on similar programs and letting government run them with government employees and letting government decide what benefits will or won't be provided and how much to pay doctors is not a formula for success.
  4. He's got a spin move.
  5. Students = Mommy and Daddy's money or borrowed money. Money = They can afford to pay more. They can afford to pay more = Someone else gets to pay less Someone else gets to pay less = Votes Votes = Power Power = Money Money = Fame Fame = Ego stroke Ego stroke = Self esteem Self esteem = Feel good Feel good = End justifies means End justifies means = A good idea using other people's money
  6. Clearly Smith should be cut as he's a total bust and will never even be a good backup. Jets need to start thinking about drafting another QB. Just a huge setback for the Jets franchise. Hard to believe their scouting department could have made such a huge mistake. After all, it's easy to play QB in the NFL. The guy just doesn't have it. No amount of experience will change this. It's over for him. Done.
  7. The vast majority of our population does not want single payer. People don't want the post office and the IRS or anything that is run with typical government culture managing their health care and for good reason. Medicare and Medicaid have plenty of problems and solving a disagreement with the government is nearly impossible. Single payer? Who pays? It is a myth that people could not get health insurance before the ACA was passed. Anyone could easily buy insurance and it was priced pretty competitively with employer provided insurance. Most uninsured simply had other spending priorities. The number of people who are citizens of this country who truly needed help was/is certainly less than 10% of the population. The law as written is a horrible piece of work.
  8. You forgot that they'll also mutter "Fox News".
  9. Nobody's trying to reverse pre-existing condition coverage. The law that was passed is simply a crappy solution to solve the uninsured. If there is an argument that supports Obamacare as a well crafted solution, let's hear it.
  10. So Obama wants a 1 year extension, just enough to get it past the mid-term election. How convenient. Let's not find a better solution. Let's simply move the date.
  11. Ur damn right. Our health care program has been difficult enough to navigate and fund in recent years. It's more challenging and expensive than ever and our next renewal will actually be a transition to a "similar" plan that meets the new fed guidelines. It'll be substantially more expensive. We've had more than a 100% increase over the past 3 years already much due to the new law. We're simply going to give a stipend to our employees and send them on their own. Most don't agree on what coverage they want going forward so they can decide for themselves. What was a nice benefit in the past has simply become to hard and too expensive to manage. Many businesses will do the same.
  12. There you have it. I agree.
  13. Comparing the Bills crappy performance to another crappy performance does not make fans happy or justify the Bills lack of success.
  14. How about supporting your position with some numbers and facts?
  15. I can only imagine what she might do with young men interns in the oval office.
  16. Actually the Tea Party are more like Patriots but that name is already taken by another football team and there isn't much going on in DC to honor that name.
  17. What is the economic impact of having Delaware North in Buffalo or elsewhere? There is an impact and there can be a return on the investment. I agree that communities get shaken down in order to attract and preserve businesses into their communities, but as long as we have state and local rights, there will be competition for businesses.
  18. How about this one? A team called the Arab's? http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/highschool-prep-rally/forget-redskins-high-school-california-mascot-least-offensive-113535243.html
  19. The players worked hard all year. They deserve the opportunity to celebrate their season and their efforts in a friendly and perky environment. I think I'll take my sophomore football player son to Hooters tonight.
  20. Can we expect your corporate welfare attack on this today? Shouldn't Buffalo ask Delaware North to pay their "fair share"? Maybe even a bit extra since they can afford it?
  21. Yeah but since when did something over budget become a problem? Budget? What budget?
  22. I know it's an incredible longshot to think that the gatorman could understand common sense or reason but just maybe we can knock the legs of support out from under some of those views. On 2nd thought, nah, it ain't gonna happen.
  23. You realize that the credit of the US was never in doubt before, during or after the shutdown, right? You do understand that if the government were forced overnight to only spend what it takes in that debt service would be a high priority and not even the clowns in control now would choose not to fund our debt. Maybe once you realize that you can begin to understand why all this debt isn't good as the cost of it threatens our ability to fund all the social programs and bloated government agencies you desire. As much you hate to admit it, even those that you vote for at the Federal level would absolutely fund our debt, the military, SS and medicare if they were forced to prioritize spending.
  24. Yes, unique. The nearly 53% that didn't vote for TM won't be happy he's Governor. He'll get 1 term.
  25. It's pretty clear that if the faux Libertarian hadn't run, Cucc would be the next Governor. http://freebeacon.com/obama-bundler-funding-va-state-dems-libertarian-gov-candidate/
