The Affordable Care Act is Coming Home to Roost

That and since 80% of voters are low information voters, then 80% of the 7 million don't even know there is a mandate. -

Of course more small businesses plan to add coverage. Those with 50 employees or more are mandated to cover employees or pay a fine. Choosing not to add coverage and not paying a fine isn't a choice any longer. This is not evidence of something "working" or working well. -
10% ethanol isn't enough to harm engines and engines are built to run on the stuff. Ethanol is somewhat corrosive to aluminum and traps a bit more water than gasoline but these are negligible differences especially at 10%. Like previously said, Ethanol doesn't offer any meaningful advantages being in gasoline either. Getting rid of it in gasoline would probably be a net gain overall. We'd do better as a country if we could just adopt 1 fuel standard for all 50 states. There are something like 25 different fuel specs based on tiny differences in local fuel laws and then we also have winter fuel blends in a lot of states making it even more complex. Oil companies get hammered for expensive gas yet the states and feds tax the crap out of it and force oil companies to refine so many variations all of which makes it more expensive.

I don't like studies that differentiate economic standing between races when the larger underlying reasons for economic inequality are gaps in education, ability, attitude and behavior. Measure that. -

Conversely woman should now have coverage for ED. Nice little perk there. Woman can get a prescription and give the pills to any of their partners that they feel need it. That and you are so right about insurance companies teed up to be demonized. -

The Obamacare lie is the one that Dems won't be able to run from as a high percentage of the population will be directly affected via changes in coverage, increased cost, a change in benefits or all of these. Unlike most untruths spread by libs and the lib media, nearly everyone will look at the TV or computer display and know they're being told a load of bull on this one. This will make skeptics of many. Imagine if even just a portion of a more skeptical media starts reporting more accurately on issues like debt and immigration. This could put a big dent into public support of Obama and Reid's bogus agenda. We can only hope. It's amazing how the party that occupies the White house screws up during nearly every President's tenure. So Presidential voters flip-flop back and forth between parties in fairly predictable patterns. Hopefully independents are paying close attention right now. The next 12.5 months are gonna be fun to watch. -
Why stop there? These can be used to issue speeding tickets as well.

Obama has earned such a lack of respect. Well deserved. Bush spent nearly 8 years managing wars and not much else. Obama will spend 8 years "transforming America" practicing redistribution. Geez we need to a elect a good leader. Voters are idiots. -
http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxfacts/displayafact.cfm?Docid=200 Bush taxes cuts fully phased in 2003. Take a look at tax receipts 2003-2008. Pretty damn nice increase during that time even with all tax brackets paying a lower rate. Good grief does that suggest that when people get larger paychecks that they spend that money which generates economic activity and more tax revenue to the government? Of course people have to have jobs for that to happen. If you want to spend some quality time with the info in the link and also look at the history of tax rates over several decades, you might be quite perplexed by what you see. Hint, it will cast substantial doubt on your belief system. Now in your world we should increase tax rates (only on some people of course) and then the government should hire people to build stuff or find other ways to give it to others which will make the economy grow because we all know that the rich hoard money in their mattresses and keep it away from others. They don't invest or spend it. Since Republicans refuse to do the patriotic thing and raise taxes (leaving the rich with thick mattresses), then the government has no choice but to borrow and print the damn money needed because the rich refuse to part with it. In your world, the government gets to decide who gets what and the government can take from those that earned it to satisfy the needs of others. After all, it's only "fair". How much tax revenue would be generated by this "fair" society? More or less?

Does raising fed tax rates increase revenues to the fed government? Check the history of tax rates, tax revenues and GDP first.

Libs getting a lot of mileage out of that Obama logo. Thinking this through and knowing that the younger generation doesn't like to part with their money, I wonder how many of them will like not having health insurance (cause they find it too expensive) and paying the fine? Many who are not covered now (and not paying) will still have no coverage but will be paying the fine/tax. Others will pay for it and it will be a lot more expensive. Others will get subsidized and still feel it's expensive. Should be mighty popular among many younger voters who in a majority voted for B.O. -

Yesterday on a radio show (can't recall which one) a Whitehouse or HHS official made a statement like "they are throwing more computers and more computing power at the problem which should fix it". What a well articulated and confidence boosting statement that was. -

Do you have any concern for the amount of money the Federal Government spends? If so by how much would you reduce spending annually and what would you like to see cut? -

Government spending can create jobs but leaves the age-old question: How are we going to pay for it? -
I was very concerned over the weekend that the mods had put an end to this competition with their intent to enforce the "rules". Each combatant has a fine line to walk. You have to scorch the opposition to avoid elimination but that might cost the winner their "rights". When all is said and done in the showdown, Gatorman might be playing with him/herself in PPP having won nothing.

That and another year of comedy hours in the white house will put the shutdown very distantly in the rear view mirror.
