    Not gonna happen. Escalation requires both sides competing. Obama not going to compete. I suspect the most we'll do is provide the rebels with some weapons, just enough for Obama to say he's supporting them. We can expect ISIS to end up with some of the guns and grenades.

    Obamacare is like cable TV or car insurance or homeowners insurance. You get a teaser rate for a year or two and after that you're screwed. By the time most people figure out what the hell happened, Obama will have vacated 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

    I'll take a swag at this. To become a truck driver requires training and a certification. That costs some money. Entry level truck drivers make about $35K a year which is probably not enough to attract new people to a job that requires the investment to get started. And what should be done with those that don't want to?

    We let in 1 million a year legally in recent years which is historically high. Those that enter illegally have no right to be here and no right to stay and no right to work here.

    Yes, wages should rise if there is a shortage of labor and yes that means the price of goods has to rise some. We have to protect American workers, right?

    An increase in wages for truck drivers will cure the shortage. Adding people to the labor force who will take jobs at lower wages is entirely contrary to the goals of greater labor participation and higher wages for American workers.

    At what cost? Who paid for it? Nobody paid for it. We borrowed the money and we will be paying the interest on that in perpetuity and the stimulus did nothing to create any enduring benefits. It only left a liability on the books.

    Somewhere it was reported last week that while Obama touts his economic progress, candidates for President from his own party are running on a platform of wanting to improve the economy and pointing out all its' shortcomings.
