  1. That's a microcosm of leftist tactics on a national or even global level. Sow chaos and division to disrupt order and reclaim a grasp on power. It's as if Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler have discovered this place.
  2. I'm still wondering how much of this was orders from above and FBI/CIA carrying them out as opposed to FBI/CIA enthusiastically leading/running this thing. I still think Comey was doing as he was told and he also felt it was a "good cause" and same for the Hillary investigation, just with a different goal.
  3. Chance of him getting it are slim IMO. The leftist meltdown from this morning's news though will be a prize of its own.
  4. So this is a thread about threads. That's like some of the meetings about meetings I had when I worked in very large companies.
  5. So now you consider Facebook part of the media? Hmmm.....
  6. Yeah, it's the height of disrespect for Jack Kemp who was a wonderful public servant who just happened to play football.
  7. Yes and I don't think any Republican would have defeated and presentable Democrat in 2008. Bush's approval and that of the Republican party was in the crapper then and the country was looking for a change in direction. McCain was a lousy candidate and like so many, more exposure to him weakened his candidacy. He was good in small doses but really didn't have much else than his angry POW status and a few shiny moments as a Senator. His debate performances as I recall were awful. As for Covid, seems to me that politically it's about to start working against the Dems. People are fed up with the restrictions and can see with their own eyes that it's only a concern for the old and sick. Otherwise it's no worse symptom-wise than a lot of viruses.
  8. No doubt the media biases you point out are very real. It absolutely starts with what they choose to report. There are many days when you can read the home pages of CNN vs Fox and wonder if they are reporting on the same country the same day. The gaps are that large. However since these outlets each choose to report on some things and not on others, there can be benefit from viewing both and if you have some awareness of the subject matter and the expected biases, you can extract some "news". What's really concerning though is the coordinated political bias that is on display every hour every day and since the media overall is vastly left, they are the the largest offenders. There is no veil on it at all. An example was a couple months ago when protests/riots broke out and some pol (might have been Harris) used the phrase "Reimagine law enforcement" and literally every outlet excluding fox is running wit that phrase. Not that they were quoting a specific person who said it but that their news people, pundit guests and interviewed pols were all using the phrase withing minutes of each other. Total coordination, total propaganda. That's not to say that the subject of law enforcement isn't newsworthy, it's the blatant coordinated effort in their "reporting" that is disgusting. Fox of course avoids reporting plenty of Trump bad stories. I'd be a much happier person and I think same true for millions of others if political reporting was more fact based, prioritized by "how important is this really" and covered government performance based on the larger government responsibilities. Problem is it would be somewhat boring, wouldn't sell as well and so many that actually do the work of producing news would have to check their biases at the door. Our Federal Gov IMO needs to focus on its big responsibilities and get its house in order before it involves itself in every little fire that starts at local and state levels. A stay in your lane bro' approach.
  9. Maybe bad threads should be subjected to a polling question to determine if the thread should be shut down. I'm sure the lefties around here wont mind a little majority rules and a filtering of undesirable speech once in a while. We'll do it by popular vote.
  10. It's hard to believe anyone would try to defend Biden's current mental acuity. Even the lefties I know are talking about his lapses.
  11. Nice to see that high school band practice didn't go to waste. Taxpayer bonus right there.
  12. Trump will win Kenosha county bigly. Biden is there pandering to the Madison and downtown Milwaukee voters, and there are a lot of those in comparison.
  13. I hope your legal work is of much better quality than this.
  14. So Joe is going to preach law and order and offer them help? If not for what other reason would he be going? Trump has already sent in National Guard and the DOJ is investigating the police shooting.
  15. For Pres, only republicans since the 80's until 2016. Left pres blank then. Didn't support Trump in the primary either. Liked Carly Fiorina but she was gone by the time the Illinois primary happened. In 2016 voted in all the down ballot elections. In earlier elections wasn't crazy about Dole, McCain and was pretty disappointed in Bush Jr's 2nd term but never would have voted for the dem candidate in those elections. Have voted for some dem and other party candidates over the years in state/local elections. You find that at the local level the pols are sometimes less partisan.
  16. Barr's mad because any jackass can see the folly of widespread mail in voting beyond the limited use of absentee voting. We've had nothing but voting creep over the past few decades with the expansion of early voting and the broadening of absentee rules and now vote by mail. At the same time voter registration and the census has broadened to include non-citizens. Add to this sloppy or non-existent maintenance of voter registration rosters and we have a growing opportunity for abuse and error. There should be unanimous support to clean and tighten this up. It's a no brainer.
