  1. Pretty weak on the part of the commission. Why is it necessary to move debate location to virtual if Trump can test multiple times that he's Covid-19 free? Obviusly that would be a stipulation but why make this change now when it's quite possible and likely that the President is cleared before the debate? Why not just have a contingency plan (virtual) in the event he isn't? https://www.debates.org/2020/10/08/cpd-announces-second-presidential-debate-will-be-virtual/
  2. Looks like a good script for another Batman sequel with Whitmer being the newest villain, the Joker's daughter.
  3. Yes, they aren't conceding those states. The calculus is they'll win them and don't need to invest more there.
  4. Not True. His administration put out guidelines months ago to states including mask recommendations and in nearly every state masks have been required at some point or currently when entering a business or government building. Governors make that determination within each state.
  5. Doesn't matter if the same color is connected to the same polarity at the other end.
  6. I thought the VP debate was very underwhelming.
  7. Rewind and look close. It wasn't a fly but a miniature drone trying to steal ideas.
  8. I have a lot of engineering friends and engineers in my family. Several of them are like this ^^^. Don't really like people, have no empathy, too critical of too many things. I love them all, but really find the stereotype fascinating and I remind them of their "flaws" all the time. It makes for some great ball busting. Total respect though. I refer to several of them as the smartest people I know.
  9. What most of us never think about is if you have an 80 year old relative (or if you're 80-ish yourself 😀), that person has been alive for about one-third of our history as a nation. Think about that.
  10. Nixon, because we were born on the same day (different year). I don't care about the rest of his problems. Yes, very shallow I know. Real answer, limiting this only to my lifetime, Reagan easily and his electoral performance speaks for itself. People often don't realize or remember he won 49 of 50 states for re-election.
  11. And this is what's wrong with most political discourse here, in the media and among Americans all over. Factless, pointless, totally unproductive.
  12. I wasn't looking for poster names but rather some definition of the far right.
  13. Can you point me to where donations are submitted? I poked around the site a bit and didn't find how/where to do that. Seriously, can we define right wing? Is it a set of policies? What are they, give me the top 5 as you would define them.
  14. It's understandable that Trump getting the virus would hurt him. What's surprising to me is the swings in poll results we've seen in the past couple months which means that even this late in the game, anything can still happen November 3rd. In political terms there is still a long way to go in these campaigns.
  15. Eric Owens is someone I know. He was on a few of U.S. Teams and has a fantastic therapy practice in Chicago now. Great guy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Owens_(table_tennis)
  16. Sounds great, there is a doctor out there though that would disagree on healthiness. It's an interesting read with plenty of opposing opinions. https://drgundry.com/
  17. No outdoor ping pong over the summer? Wind adds a whole new dimension? Isn't it really called table tennis?
  18. Not ping pong or bowling. I have somebody here though that might accept your ping pong challenge. He was on the Senegal national team before he came to the States, he's very tall and his cousin played more than 10 years in the NBA.
  19. I'd love to share but it would probably make me easy to identify. There's almost nobody that posts here that I wouldn't like to meet in person but I've already had one instance where through a website my personal info was found/revealed by/to someone with less than honorable intentions. I'm lucky to still be doing what I do and fairly well and the competition ranges in age from 18 to guys in their 60's. Regional and national in scope. We had an "old man's" basketball league 10 years ago or so. That was a ton of fun for a short time. I was never any good but could run better than most which is a big plus amongst low skill players. We had several injuries among the 15 of us which ended the thing. A torn ACL, stitches, badly pulled hammy, ankles and I dislocated a finger. The group folded after about 3 years of emergency room visits. Tennis and golf may be in my future. Haven't golfed in about 12 years. Tennis is a great workout.
  20. Left Buffalo over 20 years ago, been in Chicago burbs since. Run a couple businesses. One is more passive. The risk and hard work have been worth it but we grind it out every month. Married over 30 years to a wonderful Buffalo girl, grown kids, 1 dog. Beginning to get serious about retirement. Can taste it. That's really driving me now, that and a life long passion for a great competitive sport (still competing) which I've never mentioned here. Huge passion for this though it's a big commitment. Still love Buffalo. Enjoy hanging out here a bit to get my mind away from day to day grind and I truly like people. Politically I'm simply looking for our governments to perform responsibly and much much better than they do. Washington is a horrible mess. Hard to see how it gets fixed. The ingrained culture of party and power first is more destructive than ever. There are several big important issues that the majority of people (if informed) likely agree on IMO. Pols should too. The media and pols divide us and deliberately leave these things unsolved. It's a total dereliction of their duty. Somehow this to change.
  21. They did seem to catch Trump early. Other than the 1 drug (which might be a big difference maker), the rest is now ordinary treatment for Covid available to anyone. From local nurse friend who is in a leadership nursing position in local hospital, they have learned a lot about treating this over the past 6 months and are getting much better outcomes now compared with earlier.
  22. I've never manged an online community as you've been doing for years, so I can't say I've walked in your shoes. I've looked at all of your linked posts and would say that if you wanted to review months and years of posts here, you'd find a lot of personal attacks of varying degrees of distaste posted by a number of people. I've dished out a few myself and have taken some too. That's not a complaint, just an observation. You likely have no interest in devoting the time look further, nor should you but IMO the linked posts are not more egregious than so many others. Maybe the frequency of attacks from a single poster that had been warned previously is the difference. What makes this forum great to me is also what makes it a management challenge. It's a wild west wide open spaces not too many rules environment. Where to draw the line between acceptable freedom of expression and what's over the line is not an exact science. People that post here come from a variety of backgrounds and professions and life experiences (often with Buffalo origin in common) which makes for interesting exchanges. More is better IMO. More posters that is. More points of view. As for problem resolution and disciplinary action, If 2 people in particular are having a spat in PPP, maybe it would be best to simply tell them "you two work it out or I will." Let them have that chance. That can result in a better outcome than sending one or both packing. Maybe you did that. On the other hand if a single poster is mucking things up on a broader basis, that may have to be dealt with differently. Quite possibly with everything else going on in your life you simply don't need the headaches that come with refereeing this. Understandable. Hopefully there will be a little more civility and substance within PPP going forward but fewer posters is not a plus in my view. Overall you should know that your contribution to the Bills community providing the entire TBD platform (including PPP and other subforums) is greatly appreciated by many many people and I hope at the very least in return you get a great deal of enjoyment and satisfaction for your time and effort and same for any others that contribute to administering this.
