  1. Dude, the Browns are on the phone. I agree with everything you said. I know next to nothing about football beyond the basics (the Dolphins are overrated, being a Jets fan is something you're supposed to outgrow, and the P*ts are cheaters). So these types if discussions are very educational for me. kj
  2. Thanks to those who answered my stupid question, and for not agreeing with me that it was stupid.
  3. Can we do an official "All-22: Bills Week X" thread every week? That would be discussion and links all based on All-22. I like that idea. As someone who can't follow the complexities of the game at regular speed, I really like these discussions.
  4. Dear Moderators: I can see why you merged my topic to this one, since it was about the all 22. But please allow a new thread about the previous game's all-22 each week. Just like you let people start new threads on their immediate reactions to the game just played. New game, new topic. Thank you.
  5. http://www.wgr550.com/JW-All-22-Review-Week-2-Bills-Panthers/17325762 WGR's Jeremy White did some all 22 breakdown and finds that EJ is not reluctant to throw downfield. He's just missing on them. His impressions from watching are reinforced by the stats, too. Good stuff on CJ and the running game, Mario and the variety of ways he got to Cam, and a great discussion of a Robert Woods completion. kj
  6. I think it is spelled "lEJendary"
  7. Do we have an 'assistant HC' on the staff?
  8. How good is their right tackle?
  9. In a similar vein, what was Graham doing on Stevie's long reception (long run after catch). He gets in Stevie's way and never hits any Panthers.
  10. I think they were respecting Ginn, too. Better a non-returnable kick in that situation, knowing it left them one shot at the end zone.
  11. Someone kill this thread before the football gods read it! Well it's definitely not a bend don't break defense. I like what I see so far.
  12. Clearly it is, but I can't figure out what a 'throwback buffalo is.
  13. Except when he turned his neck into a spring. That was definitely a wow moment. I made a related though somewhat different point in the preseason: for too long, we have depended on good stories and not good players. Talent management was such that we really needed a lot of Cinderellas to come true for us to compete: the Donald Jones, the Fitzes, and so on. Some of those did develop (Stevie, Fred) but for the most part, we had too many marginal players in central roles. I think we are seeing a different level of talent this season, with players and not stories playing the central role.
  14. That page is only after 1 game, probably because it takes a while to separate out the YAC from the total yards. Here is an up-to-date table (with different metrics) on QBs: http://wp.advancednflstats.com/playerstats.php?pos=QB QB with the highest % of passes thrown deep: Geno Smith @ 32.9%. (Hint to EJ: don't emulate Geno, please. EJ=21%) EJ is 5th in completion % at 68%. And 10th in Adjusted Yards/Attempt (adjusted to include sacks and INT returns, I think): 5.9 yds.
  15. Can you give us the mean and median too?
  16. I can't believe there isn't more of a stink about the difference in camera levels between games. That can, and I am sure has, impact the outcome of a game, given how important replays are now (both for the red flags and the mandatory reviews of plays). They should write into the tv contracts a minimum number of cameras.
  17. What a great phrase! Love it. Going to order new business cards: "Gets to his desk in a bad mood." I think the boss will like that.
  18. The Island of Dr McKelvin?
  19. If Herschel Walker is not mentioned here, then there is something wrong I think.
  20. Watch the game highlights on nfl.com. They showed the play from 2 angles and isolated on Kuechly. You could see his hand on the jersey plainly. No controversy here IMO
  21. I'll pile on. What was TJ doing during Stevie's long reception. Watch the highlights: TJ gets in Stevie's way looking for something to do.
  22. Answered my only question: Derrick Thomas had 7 once, vs. Seahawks in 1990. Wow. Mario is now tied for 15th with a whole bunch of players. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/sacks_single_game.htm
  23. Just curious: does anyone know what the league record for single game sacks is? kj
  24. And something rarely done, unless I am wrong. Probably made it doubly disruptive. Edit: I was trying to say what Kelly said.
