Longtime NFL executive Lombardi had 2 observations that stood out in the article. Left tackles are always hard to find, and to trade one never seems to make sense in my world. Adding more picks for players might look good on paper, but it will not help the coach in 2009. One step forward, two steps back.

Ourlad's is the best. They have the Bills taking Cushing with the first pick. Also, they are not high on Maybin giving him a low second round grade.
-
Unless a top 100 pick is offered (doubtful) I say keep him.

I see no reason we would not have Josh Reed in the slot on third downs. $4M is too much to pay for a punt returner. Check out the Super Bowl winners/playoff teams and how their teams are constructed. That much cap room is too valuable to use on a part timer. What bothers me is for the first time since Parrish has been here we have 2 top flight WRs I think that would leave him one on one in the slot on 3rd downs He is well worth the roster spot if he is used correctly

Unbelievable. We have the all police blotter team. I thought Marv drafted for character.

T. Graham's new Peters article
Lofton80 replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very good article. Seems like Peters does very little to help himself by not showing up to particiapte in offseason workouts. It hurts him from the contract standoint with Buffalo and hurts him with his value to a trade partner. Parker must be giving him bad advice. -
Make or Break season for Trent Edwards?
Lofton80 replied to Solomon Grundy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well done Bill! -
Bills were in serious discussions with Philly about Peters
Lofton80 replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All I can figure is Brandon and Jauron must feel tremendous job security as the result of moving Peters does not support the "win now" theory. One step forward tow steps back. -
I am pretty sure Stroud was told the contract would be extended before agreeing to the trade.

The Bills OL From Left To Right
Lofton80 replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rich: My thinking is based on Peters not being at LT which appears to be more and more likely. I can't see the #11 pick going to a pass rusher with 2 open spots on the OL. Trent vs. Clev scared to death to throw downfield will be a repeat week after week. If Peters is signed then I am on board with a D-lineman at #11. But in Fewell's scheme, the lighter speed rushers like Maybin and English are not going to fit. I almost would rather see Raji or Jerry taken at DT. -
The Bills OL From Left To Right
Lofton80 replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The lack of a pass rush has as much to due with the scheme Fewell is using as the personnel. Nothing drives me crazier than his delayed blitzes by linebackers 10 yards off the ball or better yet saties 25 yards back. To ignore the offensive line, for the sake of the "pass rush" is a recipe for a top 5 pick in 2010 and the chance for the some great TO episodes. On one hand it would be the end of the Jauron era -
My Entertaining Mock Draft =)
Lofton80 replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After reading the attached report from the attached site I have doubts on Maybin and how he fits Jauron's scheme. I agree with the poster who mentioned Tyson Jackson, he is an NFL sized DE. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2009/0...e-aaron-maybin/ -
PFW Bills "desperately" want to avoid trading Peters
Lofton80 replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Peters is a proven player. A draft pick is not definite by any means. Is this team rebuilding or a team ready to emerge? Rebuilding teams can trade stars for draft picks. Why would a team that is already willing to take a risk on TO, now want to risk a patchwork offensive line? The whole thing is stupid, Ralph has the coin and the cap room. Pay the man. -
Myrtle Beach has something for any age. A huge boardwalk/amusement park. More miniature golf places than anywhere. Nascar Cafe used to be a good stop for race fans. Golf fan should stop by the Sam Snead Steakhouse and check out the memoribilia ( I just had a beer, menu is expensive). Barefoot Landing is an outdoor mall. Murrell's Inlet has some good restaruants one has some pretty cool aquariums. Plenty more than that as well. A good place to go.

Maybe Denver needed an overhaul and trading Cutler was the start of that. They have been really bad on defense for the last few years and were never going to win a championship with that group. If they put down a good foundation with a couple of drafts, Pat Bowlen will add the pieces necessary in free agency. Might work out ok for the Broncos. The Bears improved themselves as well.

I drew no conclusion from reading that that Taylor would be a Bill. It does show a concern for the pass rush as did chasing the canaduian league player who went to the Dolphins.

Well said Kelly. I love the spin about Bell and Walker being able replacements much like we heard about Jerry Crafts, Corey Loucey and Marcus Price as they stepped in for establsihed pro's, we know how badly that turned out. Sign Peters and lets draft a few needs rather than create another one.

I'd rather have Edwards than Cutler
Lofton80 replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This debate is crazy. Put a film of the Cleveland game and watch TE scared to death to throw a ball downfield. Edwards has a lot to prove before he is compared to Cutler. Not even close at this point. -
If Ron Wolf or Ozzie Newsome was doing our drafting, maybe it's a good idea. Based on this groups track record, I say sign Peters.

Jauron to play in Tahoe celebrity tourny
Lofton80 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jauron is a celebrity? Who knew? -
McDaniels trying to be a Bellichek Jr.
Lofton80 replied to Jeff Wright's Mullet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the Bears came out pretty good. They got a franchise QB who has 10 years of playing time ahead of him. QB is the most important position on the field and they got one of the best. I say Forte, Olsen, Hester and Cutler is a good offensive nucleus. As an earlier poster said, a WR is easier to find then a franchise QB. -
Fiammetta a late round possibility?
Lofton80 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was rarely used at SU. Not sure how he is now so much in demand unless he is a workout warrior. A good sleeper from SU is Paul Chiara, a rb converted to safety. He really came on at the end of the season. -
RUMOR: Big curveball coming in with our first pick
Lofton80 replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This idea is dumb. I guess you have forgotten Trent's text messages to Dick Jauron. -
Hargrove had talent. He was a decently high pick. He played well for the Bills. My hunch is he follows Bill Kollar to the Texans. That is why he came to Buffalo in the first place.
