  1. He might be right. See what come back to #11.
  2. On the flip side they took Trent Edwards on the same premise. I think we are seeing GM speak there. Let's hope Buddy Nix has some say today, I got little faith in Modrak, Guy and Co.
  3. Not terrible idea. I like Loadholt. Herm Johnson later on wouldn't shock me either.
  4. Let us not forget the ever popular " high motor"
  5. Dead on Dave. Planet theory is quoted in his book. Parcells likes big guys.
  6. I do not understand the need for a fourth rather than a third.
  7. The Giants board I just looked at indicated Peters stuffed Osi until Peters left the game injured.
  8. The #28 pick is overpaying for a starting NFL left tackle? Jason Peters has plenty of film prior to 2008 that might make his a good pickup for that price. Brandon was willing to pay Peters $9M, I think that salary offer might indicate he was worth a #28 selection if not more. Let's pull this piece out in November to see if it makes any sense. Moreover, how could Andy Reid give up the No. 28 overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft for him? You can suggest that Reid was too busy waiting in line all year at Geno's Steaks to watch film on Peters or even check his stats, but doing so wouldn't be too classy.
  9. Sadly, I had the same interpretation. Russ "Moneyball" Brandon with another tricky move. Probably insisted on the later first round pick for the same reason.
  10. Flexibility? What am I missing here? Most 6 and 7th rounders are camp fodder. A team with multiple holes turns away a third rounder.
  11. Let's not forget the real "GM" Littman.
  12. General Manager belinda
  13. That's it? Bad deal
  14. I think the Walker option is being overplayed. His footwork and athletic ability is no where's near the better left tackles in the league. This is reminiscent of all the praise heaped on Corey Loucey and Jerry Crafts when they took over for Will Wolford and House Ballard respectively. Pay Peters and let Walker remain where he is. this is an option that could work out well
  15. We survived. Playoff teams don't continually create holes to fill. I am all for trading players for picks if we are rebuilding.
  16. Trent has enough weapons to win games. We need to address other needs. uote name='VJ91' date='Apr 16 2009, 10:44 AM' post='1388392'] How about to Buffalo for Jason Peters, straight up? The Cards get their LT after Gandy's horrible game in the SB, while the Bills can add another premier pass receiver to their arsanal. And maybe they would even sign Boldon for more then one lousy season! The Bills could plug Walker in on the left side, and then draft a rookie to compete for the right side.
  17. Cushing, makes plays, can rush the passer, has toughness which we lack. Plays with an attitude that we lack. Is a northeast guy. And by the way I could care less if he sucks in "coverage". We need LB's who can tackle.
  18. Agree completely Lancaster. Grades many players lower than the popular press. Detailed grades are fabulous.
  19. Tough question. Seems to be a widespread problem. I guess you stay away from guys with trouble in their background. I love the way Lynch plays but he had been in the middle of a few incidents even though his name was cleared. Same for Hardy. Not sure on Whitner. Football is a tough violent game and you are not going to have a perfect locker room but it seems Buffalo is adding up the numbers in the after midnight troublemaker category.
  20. If the season started tomorrow, we could get by with our DT and DE rotations. The hole at OG is dangerous as hell with Edwards needing the time for TO and Evans to run those longer routes. Another TE is a must. FB can be had as an undrafted FA as most teams don't use one. LB is a concern is Ellison is on the field on the run downs. Now all we need are a pash rushing DE, LB, OG, TE, DT & FB and we'll be a complete team.
  21. He was fun to watch for many years. A tough, tough player. He makes too much money at his age for Philly to keep him. I would take a look at him, he can't be any worse than McKinney.
  22. I see Pettigrew compared to Bubba Franks a lot. A great blocker who can help in the passing game not a dominant receiver. Is that the #11 pick that is going to make us a better team? I prefer Chase Coffman. Take Cushing or Matthews with the early pick.
  23. Bottom line is it takes a good football man to realize a Northeastern team needs strong lines. A smart decision like this is too big for Russ Brandon. Belichek and Parcells would see it not a marketing guy.
  24. Longtime NFL executive Lombardi had 2 observations that stood out in the article. Left tackles are always hard to find, and to trade one never seems to make sense in my world. Adding more picks for players might look good on paper, but it will not help the coach in 2009. One step forward, two steps back.
