  1. Steve's Pig and Ox is outstanding!!!
  2. Rice was more consistant, never dropped as many passes. Both are pretty damn good but Rice was the best.
  3. Entertaining announcer as well.
  4. I have read comments like this here before. Absolutley don't get it. DiGeorgio makes a lot of plays and better than given credit for around here. My hunch is Bowen wins that spot but DiGi plays plenty.
  5. He is a great coach. I am shocked it is even in question. No likes him but his record speaks for itself.
  6. RIP to a Bills hero.
  7. You just defined a message board= all talk and hope. That's why we come here.
  8. We'll never know until they go live but I agree completely. Toughness is a constant with the selections. I like that Byrd had 200+ tackles as a cb in a tough conference. Harris is a sure tackler as well. I don't expect Harris to start but he can add some toughness to special teams. I expect Bowen to emerge as the OLB. Pull up a youtube of Bowen at Iowa St. before he was hurt. He is one tough tackler as well. Ellison is a poor tackler who gets targeted in the run game. Just moving Ellison and Simpson off the field improves the defense. I like the toughness of Hangman, Wood and Levitre. Maybe we could actually convert a third and 1. Butler and Walker worry me on the outside as pass blockers. You know speed rushers like Joey Porter are going to be a challenge. This draft is a step in the right direction even if we need another one like it in 2010. The light finally went on in Orchard Park.
  9. Agree completely. He simply doesn't get the job done. It's a bottom line business and he loses too much to be considered "underrated".
  10. I love this pick. Harris is a great tackler which is what we need. Too many whiffs by Ellison.
  11. My take on Ellis last year is the speed of the game ovewhelmed him which is not uncommon for a rookie. VT just sends their front 7 players upfield year after year and they get by on athletic ability. The NFL is complicated and Ellis looked to be slow to react last year. I bet a year of being exposed to the game will help him in 09.
  12. Experience definitely helps, I think these OLine picks will help for the long term, in the short term, probably good enough for 7-9 to 9-7.
  13. I find Bill to be one of the smartest posters on this forum. I look forward to reading his comments. He clearly understands the game. Jauron has coached 8 NFL seasons and is well under .500 as a coach. The pieces to compete? Expand on that, what is lacking ? Because I have seen many so called inferior teams win games due to good coaching. Look to the 2008 Miami Dolphins coming off a 1 win season in 2007. The coach melded together the pieces he had to work with and they won. How about the hapless 49ers last year that beat Buffalo on their home field with a new coach, they apparently had the right pieces to compete that day. The Browns who also fired their coach beat Buffalo at home with an inexerienced QB. Somehow this team that drafted in the top 5 found the right pieces to compete against Jauron's team. Juaron's teams fall apart with turnovers, dropped passes, non challenged plays, wasted timeouts, conserative fg attempts which are coaching decisions. Bill is right, Jauron is a lousy head coach; nice guy or not.
  14. LOL !!! Well played
  15. Hangarthner should start. I thought he got a pretty good contract for a backup. He is being paid to start. It's a welcome problem to have too many guys at C and G.
  16. I saw it on a PSU Message board, also said DE Evans went to Giants
  17. Cadogan to Panthers
  18. I can live with the late round db's. The USC player looks like a steal. The WVU player reeks of being the "sleeper" pick some scout was sitting on. My guess is that they saw no lineman that they felt strong about that they couldn't get as a UDFA. I would think an OT undrafted would want to give Buffalo a try.
  19. The whiffs on short yardage plays would be a great starting point. Fowler and Preston surely led the league.
  20. I imagine he comes in as a fifth lineman and comes off the edge. I think Denny is a good player. Solid not a pass rusher though.
  21. DJ looked like he could hardly contain himself. Trading away third round pick and fourth round pick and still getting Shawn Nelson is pretty good drafting. ANything else is gravy at this point. Maybe a flyer on a DT.
  22. I hope they stick to building a tough team rather than the soft team we have seen in the past. Levitre, Maybin, Wood and Byrd all have toughness. Gotta love Byrd having 200 tackles. Maybe they target a DT like Terrance Taylor of Michigan. Maybe a DE. I think Bowen and Digiorgio provide lb depth. Ellison and Maybin will share the other lb. TE is a mystery. I don't think they would have traded their third pick if they were worried about the position.
  23. Fabulous if it happens. Instantly makes the defense tougher. Love the mock in your signature as well.
  24. Good read, draft day never gets old. I still remember the first one I watched where we took Tony Hunter from ND and Jim Kelly. I was hooked thereafter.
