  1. The defense would be tough in short yardage and he would draw double teams all day. He is a mean spirited tough guy that we have in low numbers on this team. Reality is it would never happen.
  2. OLB (Maybe Bowen is the answer) Center TE
  3. Conlon had some big hits. I remember one classic on Icky Woods. I thought he was a good player. Three pro Bowls is not shabby.
  4. Simms, Leftwich, Grossman .........anyone who has taken a snap before is a consideration. Leftwich will cost some money as he wants to start and there will be suitors.
  5. Steve's Pig & Ox makes a great sandwich
  6. I hope you are right. We all want Hardy to succeed. He had some flashes this year, Jax game winner was a super play, beginning of AZ game was nice too. I am more concerned with the QB to be honest. Warner and Rothlesberger appear to manage the game on a different level than we see in our check down passing offense.
  7. The replay I saw looked like Palamaulo shaded over to cover the outside receiver vacating the middle. Bottom line, we limit what we can do by using this scheme.
  8. Woodley was always in the highlight reels for Michigan. He was a tough hard nosed player. A perfect fit in the Steelers 3-4 ala Greg Lloyd, Kevin Greene, etc. Probably lacked the coverage skills required in Fewell's scheme. I believe Pittsburgh was in a cover 2 when Fitgerald went 60 yards for a TD right up the middle. I hate the scheme as well.
  9. That slip was huge. Not too often a simple down and out goes 55 yards with the game on the line. I was impressed that Tomlin used both his timeouts when they got close to the endzone. Jauron would have held on to the timeout for the inevitable field goal attempt.
  10. Gandy looked a lot more physical playing for AZ than he ever did in Buffalo. He played well throughout the playoffs. Warner playing QB and getting the ball out on time helps a lot.
  11. Aaron Schobel and a FA like Chris Canty can help the DE situation. Ellison is a back up at best. Curry, Cushing or the other USC lb's are all better than Ellison. Is a rookie DE going to start over a healthy Schobel? I doubt it. Frankly, I would take a DT like Raji who I also think is likely going to impact a game more than Kyle Williams who is also a backup at best. So, no I am not kidding with passing on a DE.
  12. Excellant take. I would take him in a heartbeat if he would agree to an extension.
  13. FA = Chris Canty Pick 1 Brian Cushing Pick 2 Ron Brace
  14. Most of the scouts don't watch the Senior Bowl. They leave town after the practices. John Butler stated this for years. They have tracked these guys for years. Harrell's plusses and minuses were well known before yesterday.
  15. I take Raji. We need a space eater who can draw a double team, a good player who has some experience playing in cold weather. Schobel and FA DE Canty will help the rush. Our LB's are not edge rushers in Fewell's scheme so I don't see us taking all these tweeners. I would be shocked if Strahan played at 240.
  16. Check out picture #2. Raji certainly passes the look test. http://www.houstontexans.com/gallery.asp?section_id=613# Pettigrew in picture #17 http://www.houstontexans.com/gallery.asp?section_id=612# Caldwell in Picture #1, Raji in pictures #7 & #8 http://www.houstontexans.com/gallery.asp?section_id=611 Good coverage on this site. Article on Raji. http://www.houstontexans.com/news/Story.asp?STORY_ID=5113
  17. Until Trent can step up in the pocket to make a throw longer than 5 yards, we have to improve the blocking. A TE at 11 is a luxury unless he is graded in the Gonzales class.
  18. I thought Lynch improved at the end of the season and expect big things next year. Hopefully, he corrects his habit of dropping swing passes with green grass in front of him. As for his rushing yards, remember DJ limited his touches some games by "design". Remember the game he had one carry in the fourth when he was averaging 9 yards a pop.
  19. He is not a cover 2 MLB. I doubt he leaves Baltimore. But could this group of choir boys use some of his passion...........hell yes.
  20. Bill: If we don't fix the Center and DT spots, we are looking at a top 10 pick next year. I was stunned when we took Whitner and everytime I watch Ngata in Baltimore it is painful. We burn high picks on fineese players and apply bandaids to the important areas. But maybe this year with Modrak being "promoted" to the "inner circle" we will see some changes
  21. Tough players helps. Hard not to be impressed with Warner. He has taken some big shots in the playoffs.
  22. JR in Ann Arbor nailed it. This is what I'd like to see from Buffalo. I want guys that play hard, are tough, mean, want to play in the ice and snow, and play with a ton of heart (particularly on defense). In fact, I'd love to see us in the draft and FA just stock up on the defensive side of the ball--make that the cornerstone of this team. Toughness toughness toughness. It is lost on Brandon and the inner DJ's. Watch 68 seconds of fatness with Walker and tell me if that guy has any toughness whatsoever. This team lacks toughness.
  23. I think that Belicheck guy might be ok in NE. Rex Ryan is a good pick for the Jets, they just need a QB. Miami will have a tougher time next year. Buffalo is one big question mark.
  24. The good news is Russ and the inner circle recognize we need help with the pass rush which should be an indicator of where they go in Free Agency or the draft.
