Rob Ryan...I'll say it. I want him as the next HC of Buffalo
todd replied to JimKelly12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just threw up in my mouth, tried to choke it back down, and then puked again. Answer: No. Why would a classless obnoxious buffoon be appealing to Bills fans, other than the fact that his abdomen might resemble theirs? -
The reality of the Bills Injured Reserve List
todd replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess my point is that neither the running game or passing game exist in a bubble, and it doesn't really make sense to treat them as they do. Finding one single reason the Bills are losing, and the offense isn't producing really isn't possible. Simple minds need to digest stuff like that, though, and this place is filled with them. -
You're right! It is clear that injuries and poor drafting and personnel moves for 10 years had nothing to do with it. Yep. Some people will go to stupid lengths to prove a point I guess. Excellent crusade you are on. Why don't you start a few more posts about the same thing? Ssshhh. He's enjoying his crusade. Enough with the common sense, please!

The reality of the Bills Injured Reserve List
todd replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or that losing Jackson has taken a bite out of the running game, and because of that the passing game as well. Brilliant. You don't get 4 years to rebuild? What reality do you live in, because that is just assinine. I cant' even imagine that someone would be insane enough to make that statement. Unfortunately, myopic statements like that are common. Fortunately, they can be cured with intelligence and logic. The fact is, there isn't anyone in the world that could take the roster the bills had two years ago and transform it in two drafts. You can't replace 75% of a roster in two years, install a new offense and defense and special teams, and expect success. Think before you post, and come back to reality. -
The reality of the Bills Injured Reserve List

Do you have any friggin clue how long it took the Packers to build that team? You're acting like it can be done in a year, which is absolutely indefensible. Step back from the ledge, big fella. -

bull ****. If they canned the entire roster you would B word in a year because they haven't rebuilt yet. -

Look, if people can't face that we're in year 2 of a rebuilding process, which is happening directly after 10 years of bad drafting (which means we start from zero), then you shouldn't bother yourself with caring about the Buffalo Bills. If reality is too difficult for you, find something else to do. -
Merriman, Parrish, players "wanting to stay" with their team/c
todd replied to Booger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Except players like Whitner, Evans, Hangartner, etc. Not sure your theory holds water. -
Merriman, Parrish, players "wanting to stay" with their team/c
todd replied to Booger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Merriman and Easley are under contract. There's no reason not to retain them through camp. None. They aren't really taking up much room because rosters are larger around camp time. Parrish isn't under contract. Based on the money he would need to stay around, there's no reason not to sign him and see what he does through camp. None. They can always cut him. -
Does Gronk make Troup the worst Bills 2nd rounder
todd replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. Conventional wisdom says 3 years to assess a player. It isn't really logical to do it before then. Unless, of course, you suck as bad as Maybin or Williams. -
Men like boobs.

Sanchez and Flacco have 1 more year
todd replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Imagine that, a QB playing well when his weapons are healthy and line playing well, but plays poorly when his WR/TEs are hurt and line playing poorly. Hmmm. Reminds me of something. Can't put my finger on it. It must be the common sense of it. -
I've changed my opinion on Tebow. I still think he's a crappy quarterback and can't really throw the ball consistently. That said, he seems to be one hell of a football player. He's got "something" , that's for sure. His religious zealot-ism still bothers the hell out of me, and I'd wish he'd shut up. However, the solution to that is to not listen to him speak off the field, and enjoy the hell out of his play on it. I think I'm almost a fan.

Do you remember how HORRIBLE maybin was? I mean, the guy sucked. He's still overrated on the Jets. He only plays on passing downs, and the Bills don't have the luxury of a one trick pony.

On this day in history OJ Simpson rushes for 200 yds
todd replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was 5. I don't remember, but my dad took me to see the Bills that season. I wonder how many who post here were even alive then. Or even alive in the 80s. -
Andy Reid Mike Shanahan "Good" coaches doing poorly. Whoops! there goes that theory. I find it amazing that people try to blame losing on ONE thing. It's like people's minds aren't big enough to think about something from more than one angle. It's the coaches! No, It's the QB! No, it's the owner! No, it's the DC! No, it's the GM! No, it's the injuries! No, it's 10 years of bad drafting! No, it's CJ Spiller! IMHO, Chan is NOT the problem. It is MANY things. Anyone who thinks changing coaches is a panacea is a moron. REBUILDING.

I don't know. I don't think it signals failure at all, I think it signals being prepared for the future. I also think that Fitz will be fine going forward. I rewatched some of those early games, and Fitz with a healthy offense is really great. Rewatch the NE game and tell me otherwise. People are pissed because he can't carry a team like Manning or Brady, but for god's sake those guys are future HOF players. Fitz isn't, and shouldn't be held to that standard. Of course, certain Bills fans aren't happy unless they are whining about something. If they draft a QB in a high round, he could sit for a while ALA Aaron Rodgers in GB behind Favre. Another example is Brees/Rivers in SD.

Buffalo Bills Half Marathon @ the Ralph
todd replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cool! I think I'll do the 5K and leave the 1/2 marathon to my wife. -
Bull. They drafted Losman in the first round, and traded for bledsoe. Those are two first round QBs. How did that work?
-
I guess I agree, however look at the Packers. They have incredible stability in the front office and at coaching. All the good teams do. Teams that constantly need to fire people don't do well, no matter what.

It comes down to the following, and injuries expose all of the below: 1. Rebuilding. Yep, we're in year 2 of rebuilding. As much as people don't want to admit it, this is true. When you are rebuilding, you lack depth because you are basically starting from near zero. The Bills had precious little to build on, and when those building blocks went down, we got screwed. Drafting Spiller at what was a position of strength didn't help much, but I think Nix realizes his mistake. 2. Bad drafts for 10 years. Also contributes to #1, but there's no way Buffalo can recover quickly from years of poor drafting. You can't trade away #1 picks (for bledsoe) and whiff on multiple #1 picks (Williams, McCargo, Losman, etc.) and recover in two years. It doesn't happen. Sorry to break it to everyone, but it doesn't happen. 3. Getting rid of good players. This is partially due to the revolving door at Head Coach, but look at the good players that the Bills get rid of or lose because they are constantly starting at year 1 of rebuilding. Greer, Fletcher, Schoebel, Leonhard, Trent Edwards (just kidding!), etc. A lack of consistency in the FO and at HC leads to this issue. And now people want to get rid of gailey and nix before the fruit is even ripe. Idiots don't realize that inconsistency is part of the problem. So when we have so few good players, and they all get injured, you see an absolute joke on the field. No coach can deal with that, although I think Edwards could do better and he needs to GTFO. So going from 32 to 25 is a substantial improvement. Quiz: what does new england and GB have that most teams in the NFL don't? A HOF QB, silly, and consistency in the FO.

THIS is proof that coaching matters in the NFL

A hybrid defense means you do things and neither of them well. -
Fitz Has Possibly Had A Broken Rib Since Toronto?
todd replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure injuries to Eric Wood, Fred Jackson, Donald Jones and Scott Chandler have absolutely NOTHING to do with his regression, so it must be that he has stopped working out.
