  1. If this is true, the NFL is the same as wrestling, where they decide who wins or loses. This is !@#$ing bull ****. There's no way the league should decide where a player goes. I'm incredibly pissed off.
  2. I don't think he got the Bills right. Nope. I don't think he got many teams correct, because he looks at FA and the draft as indicators. He ignores new coaching staffs, and ignores how long it takes to put in a new system, and ignores that there were no OTAs. So no, he's wrong.
  3. Beavis, is that you?
  4. You are completely missing the point. The point is creative use of *a new roster rule* regarding the 3rd QB. Of course the wildcat isn't creative any more. I'm not sure how you got that out of what I wrote. Right. You say that as if it is an either-or conversation. It isn't. They should still sign a tackle. Signing smith doesn't preclude that. I'm beginning to wonder why otherwise intelligent posters see it that way.
  5. To people who call it a luxury signing, I disagree. With the new QB rules this most definitely IS NOT a luxury signing. It is actually something we're not used to - the Bills anticipating and using a new rule to our advantage. They can dress and make active what used to be deemed the emergency QB, which in the past was only someone you could use in case of emergency, and if that person got injured there were rules about substitution, etc. Instead of dressing a 3rd QB on game day who will stand and hold a clipboard most of the time, they have a guy in that position that can actually contribute. What the hell is wrong with that? Why is that a "luxury"? Sounds like people are just parroting the dumb crap they hear in the media without even thinking about the possibilities. That said, it is foreign to us to see the Bills be creative, so maybe we're just not used to it and think the worst. To those who way they would rather have an OL. There is no "rather" in the conversation. It isn't like they didn't sign an OL because they signed Smith. That is false. They could (and should) still sign another RT, and signing Smith doesn't preclude that. That argument makes absolutely no sense to me. Signing Smith is a very good thing.
  6. I disagree. He'd be a solid backup.
  7. I'm absolutely at a loss to explain why the Bills would get rid of Evans. How does getting rid of a good player help your team? It doesn't. The stink might be less if they use the dollars or the 4th to get a player to improve the team right now.
  8. Then you go to the CFL for the ballet.
  9. I covered that. You get an STD if you go the FA easy route.
  10. Let's relate the situation of having a new coaching staff & GM to dating. Maybe it will help some of us understand the stages we will go through before we get some. Let's say the first year of a new regime is like the first date. Yeah, you'd like to score but you'll probably only get a kiss with maybe a little touchy-touchy. Enough to entice you and make you think that the dates to come will be worth it. That's where we are after the first year. Our interest is piqued. Why so serious? Record: 4-12 Second date = second year. Things are better. After the date, she invites you in to "watch tv" and you fool around a bit. Things get a lot more interesting but you still don't score. But boy, it was fun! You are really starting to like the girl! Maybe she's worth waiting for. You aren't there yet, but you are starting to get confident things are really going to be good if it does happen. Goal posts might come down after we beat the pats. Record: 6-9 Third date = third year. Expectations are high. You're getting comfortable with your success. You are getting along great. Things are going so well, maybe you will even get to the SB for the big score! You bring her home, and things are hot & heavy. You can feel the success in the air! But wait, what? It is "that time of the month" so you can't go all the way. You make the playoffs, but you can't get to the show! Think Ronnie Harmon against the Browns. So close! Record: Lose in wildcard. Fourth date = fourth year. You know it will happen. If not this date, then next. She wants it, you want it. If you don't close the deal, it won't be your fault. Maybe her mother is visiting or something. If you don't close the deal on this date, you know it will happen on the next date or the one after. You are in this for the long haul, and you WILL get to the SB with this girl. Getting to the "playoffs" is a given. Super Bowl? Pretty damn soon if not NOW. Record: First Round Bye, possibly SB You can also use the analogy about free agency. Teams sometimes spend a ton of money on FA. They go for it all on the first date, and maybe with the wrong girl. Yeah, you may get lucky, but when you wake up the next morning and look at what you've left yourself with you might be a little disappointed. Or maybe you'll even catch a disease! Call it Rob Johnson Crabs or something. It isn't worth it. It is like dating a girl you meet at a Halloween party. Looks like crap when the makeup is off. Moral of the story? It will take you 3 or 4 dates until you get laid. Relax. It will happen.
  11. Excellent topic. 1. KC - not sure they can do it again. 2. Jets - that blowhard Ryan will run out of wind. Also, Dirty Sanchez isn't that good. And they lost some key players. 3. Seattle - Nope. 4. Chicago - Nuh-uh. Got a bad feeling about them. 5. Philly - too many new players to gel in a short period, and they are still just an injury or two away from destruction. Just because you win the FA season, doesn't mean you win the regular season.
  12. The apostrophe: http://www.grammarbook.com/punctuation/apostro.asp
  13. Dude .... there's a reason they call it grammar school.
  14. So what are you going to do when Buffalo improves? Is there another pitiful team you will latch on to? It just amazes me that people who are made so miserable by this team continue to wallow in their misery. If you are so upset, what is the reason you don't just GTFO?
  15. No, it was a dumb move even because the perception it gives - that mediocrity will be rewarded.
  16. Please. The guy played one year. What a crazy notion to judge a pick in the first year. That's just stupid. So someone came up with ONE bad decision (which wasn't even bad) and can't come up with the "many" bad decisions by Nix. You failed. Doesn't bother me. It must be that you can't handle facts. Still trying to come up with "many" bad moves? I'm waiting.
  17. Great idea! Cut talented players! Fantastic!
  18. Worst decision among many? In my opinion, there were two bad decisions by Nix. 1: Giving Kelsay money. 2: Not realizing Edwards sucked. Nix gets the players. Gailey decides who to start. I'd love to hear the "many" bad decisions by Nix you speak of. Many, to me, means at least 10. Have at it.
  19. And ICE, don't forget ICE! Whatever happened to him? Gosh, that was 14 years ago and I remember some of those posts like they were yesterday.
  20. I don't understand the whining about this. We just got a guy that is a talented player and adds another dimension to our team. Not only that, there are changes to special teams and the 3rd gameday QB that may have influenced this. But still, people are whining. I guess people think that if you sign one guy, you aren't trying to get others at other positions of need.
  21. You are all idiots. It is clear he will be used in our new 9-wide formation.
  22. Methinks the lady doth protest too much.
