  1. I hope they do. It will kill them against the cap, and prevent them from signing other FAs this year or down the road.
  2. Brockport would be stupid. It essentially moves the camp out of the range of the Syracuse fans and defeats the purpose of trying to enhance the Rochester regional fanbase. SJF is convenient for Rochester. No offense to Brockport as a school or town, but it isn't in the ideal position. I know for a fact that I would never go all the way to Brockport to see the Bills practice as much as I do now. Living on the east side of Rochester, it is easily 45 minutes to get there with traffic.
  3. Because he is smart and has the respect of the players. I think Wilson is an ideal rep, just as Troy Vincent was.
  4. I don't get his posts, either. Severely disjointed thought. Maybe a troll or something worse. Word. Or as Deep Voice says, "YEAH."
  5. Hear Hear! Excellent post. It is clear who the obstructionist has been in this process, and it is the NFLPA lawyers. They should have fired them, because it is clear their interest is misplaced along with their judgement.
  6. Here's what I said: "The owners aren't faultless, but the players deserve a boatload of blame for putting their trust in a bunch of incompetent morons." I stand by that. Has anyone here actually negotiated a contract before? That is the way it works. Why would the owners add bad stuff to a contract knowing the players would read it, spaz out, crap their pants, and whine like babies? They wouldn't. What was added was most likely stuff that is insignificant in terms of the agreed deal but required minutiae, but the players probably don't understand that and freak out because there's stuff in there they haven't seen. Here's what should have happened: The NFLPA lawyers read the stuff, and calmly explain to the players what it is and the impact. Instead, the lawyers have a knee-jerk reaction saying the agreement isn't legal. That causes players to freak out because they likely haven't read it. Remember, these are the same lawyers that Smith ordered to "Stand down" because how destructive they were to the process. So yeah, believe what you want.
  7. My take: The player's union lawyers got in the way and screwed it all up again. The union lawyers don't profit as much unless there is litigation. The owners aren't faultless, but the players deserve a boatload of blame for putting their trust in a bunch of incompetent morons.
  8. I never said the NFL was based on a free market system. It most certainly is not. The American economy is a free market system. Nobody tells the players they need to play in the nfl. They are FREE to play in whatever league they want, including the CFL, Arena League, etc. Or they can choose not to play. That is a free market system. You can't treat an entity like the NFL as an economy and examine it as one because it ISN'T ONE! Since your base supposition is completely incorrect, so is your entire theory. To be clear, the NFL can't be a free market system because it is a league. Just because you want to think it is to further your point doesn't make it so. Acting as an entity, the league (a corporation) has the right to make rules and govern the way it functions as long as it abides by the laws of the United States. It does this to COMPETE in the American market. For example, when the USFL was around, it competed with the NFL for players. In our free market economy, the NFL's system was better than the USFL's, so it won.
  9. Are you serious? Telling me to head to Cuba because I think our free market system in America works as is? Really? Suggesting I'm a socialist or communist, and therefore I should go go a country where the government even owns the fuggin restaurants? I honestly think you have no idea what you are talking about. And after your long winded post, you still forget to directly address the fact that people choose their careers, and can choose where they are employed or wish to be employed, and somehow get from economic theory to checks and balances in our 3 branches of government, which don't have anything to do with each other. And this leads me to think you are a troll, and a damn good one at that. Good show, sir!
  10. Size has nothing to do with how far you hit the golf ball, especially girth. Flexibility and fast-twitch muscles are what does it. Dustin Johnson is 6' 4", which is tall, but he only weighs 190. Bubba Watson is 6'3" and weighs 180. Sergio Garcia is 5'10' and weighs 160. Hitting the ball far has zero to do with muscle. If I had to guess, Williams probably has a killer short game and that's what allows him to post good scores at golf.
  11. The market works. Nobody forced these guys to play football. It is their choice. Nobody is forcing them to participate in the NFL draft, it is their choice. They could take their free education and run! They could choose a career that is less restrictive to their personal liberties. Maybe golf? Basketball? Curling? Skeet? Dentistry? Real Estate? The opportunities are there to find a career that won't subject to to the whims of the evil NFL and the associated disgusting, immoral, union. And when the potential players realize how horrible the NFL is for their individual liberties, no players will want to play in the league and the NFL will crumble. See, the market works. It will weed out the abusive corporations.
  12. Remember, oddsmakers care less about winning and more about establishing odds so they will make money. Not only that, Bob Matthews hasn't had an original thought in years.
  13. My league has a number of good ones, both now and in the past: The Masters of Bation Three Putt Crackwh0re Lesions of Doom The Lactose Intolerants Gas Attack The Irritable Bowels Cameltoe
  14. Here's what is happening. Smokers have no !@#$ing argument to refute their stupidity and wrongness, so they try to change the subject to booze. It doesn't work. And in the same paragraph, you note how you suspect your addiction and efforts to cope with it cause you to go into A-Fib. Can you see how crazy your arguments are? Keep typing, Bill. You're digging yourself a hole made of stupid arguments to support your addiction. None of them work. The issue is smoking, not alcohol or anything else. Smoking, how disgusting it is, how horrible it is for you, how it isn't a right, and how much it bothers and harms others. Not to mention the discourtesy of people who smoke breaking the rules by smoking in the stands. Ban it in the stadium, and now there are no excuses. The fact is, it is a fantastic rule that only has an upside. There's no downside to it at all, other than having a few people who can't stand to be without a cig for 3 hours not go to a game. Maybe they can use that time to re-evaluate priorities.
  15. I'm going to a funeral this weekend for a favorite uncle who was a lifelong smoker who died from cancer. His death was painful, slow and horrible. !@#$ing horrid. In addition, the pain his family has gone through has been very difficult for me to watch. I would hate to lose ONE Bills fan because of this stupid habit, but based on this thread there are a few of you. I'm sorry you ever started. There is no other legal drug that has such a drastic and obvious correlation to severe, long-term health problems, not to mention the pain it puts family members through when they see the awful time these people have dying. So forgive me if I call you out for being dumbasses. Forgive me for not wanting to watch or smell people killing themselves, because right now that's all I can see. Listening to all you people arguing about "rights" and "respect" makes me want to !@#$ing puke. This **** will KILL you, and it sucks. You are going to die, and it will be awful. Makes me upset that people are stupid enough to argue for it.
  16. Your title seems like you are trying to blame ralph for this. Is that the case?
  17. I certainly know what you are saying, but it is pretty clear to me that Chan used the first few games of last year as an extended preseason. I would rather that we had that evaluation done earlier, but on the other hand I can see how evaluating in real game situations (including game prep and practice) would be more valuable. He did the same thing with Edwards, kinda. Edwards is one of those guys who is a great practice QB, but horrible game QB. He probably hits great golf balls on the range, too, but duffs it off the tee.
  18. London was great. I don't know why we got rid of him. I understand why he wouldn't fit in a 3-4, but thought he was fine for the tampa-2.
  19. Oh Bill, I know where you stand on this. That's a slippery slope argument regarding a different drug. Nice try. Anyway, I wouldn't mind if all drunks were kicked out, or anyone who made me smell their beer-laden breath could be kicked out. But a stinky, disgusting, carcinogen is a different animal. Can't say I feel sorry for you. Slippery slope arguments are stupid. They don't work, and have no basis in fact. That's just basic logic. Solution: Quit. Then you have no problems. Smoking is a choice you make.
  20. Smokers can't control they way the wind blows, but they can control whether they smoke or not. Smoking is a choice. Period. People smoke in the stands ALL THE TIME. Kick the inconsiderate jerks out. Now there are no excuses. Excessive drinking is also a problem, but that doesn't mean smoking isn't. Both are issues, and should be addressed. I'm glad the Bills are addressing them.
  21. I think that is fantastic. No matter how much the smoking areas are segregated, the filth always seems to waft into a non smoking area. Now they just need to enforce it. Even with the smoking areas, there's always some selfish a-hole smoking in the stands.
  22. Trump is a moron, loses money at business because he is a moron and meddlesome, and is also a moron. No.
  23. Good stuff as usual, RR. Thanks!
  24. Sic semper tyrannis
  25. What an idiot. The guy complains the Bills didn't draft a QB because they had a need for one. How about this: 1. DL - possibly best in the draft. Bills horrible on D, and stroud cut. Drafted for NEED. 2. CB - Drayton Florence is a FA and McGee is getting old. We're in a passing league. Drafted for NEED. 3. ILB - Poz is a FA. Worst D in NFL. Drafted for NEED. 4. S - Whitner is a FA. Worst D in the NFL. Drafted for NEED. 4b. OT - No solid RT. Drafted for NEED. 5. RB - No 3rd RB for depth. Drafted for NEED. 6. ILB- See Round 3. Remember, a 3-4 hybrid requires good ILBs. 7. CB - See 2nd round pick. Two spots to fill, two draft picks. 7b. Um, who could ever complain about who you select with your 2nd 7th round pick? I know! A moron would! Basically, this guy wrote the article when he had his period. B word, B word, B word about nothing. Total whiny little kitty who formed an opinion before trying to analyze it.
