  1. lol, that's a bit of a bad omen when you think of not flight college coaches going to AFC teams in florida! big time football really does have a club, doesn't it?
  2. of course, i could be wrong, but i think he's a big media guy who will have a warm reception in NJ but will spiral a bit once things go wrong, which they will. i don't think young coaches get the fawning media treatment he has without working the media to their advantage. very smart from a career perspective, but it makes me wonder where their focus is and if they have a different set of personalities for different people. Mike Ditka in chicago comes to mind.
  3. i hope they trade darnold for a back of tape and draft a bust.
  4. 41 31 bills. goes back and forth a bit in the first half, but the bills put together some drives and go up 24 17. in the second half the bills O catches fire and the D stymies the ravens o just enough for the bills to get a commanding lead, ravens put together a couple good drives to make it respectable, but we win holding the ball and closing the game out
  5. best fit for him is Chargers, but obv i hope he stays (imagine that, i was so hard on him before!). i think saleh to the jets is the match made in heaven. big media team, big media DC, he's great on camera and is popular. and i hope he crashes and burns and stinks.
  6. he's scary as a blocker, and gets passes because he's basically not covered. he actually doesn't break many tackles, but on 3rd or 4th and short, is just another weapon for the ravens (another guy you gotta watch). the ravens O is the ultimate gregg roman dirty fantasy, lol. a tiny qb who's not great as a traditional passer, but runs like a cheetah on meth, a few giant TEs who can block and catch, pretty sick OL, a couple burners at WR, and giant physical RBs. Picard is just an extra freak for his match up circus. they get you scared of the power run game out of so many formations, but really their best asset is using misdirection to get easy passes for lamar, or get your d going the wrong way and then either have a power back going full speed the other way, or lamar basically returning a punt w two tacklers between him and the end zone. the downside, as we saw first hand in buffalo, is that they are not dynamic, have trouble hurrying up, don't have as much of a green light to change up plays, and if you keep them honest like pitts does, you can turn them into a power run team that struggles on 3rd and passing downs. im worried about our guys over pursuing one wan and getting burned the other, because our DL just isn't going to win a lot of match ups in this game. more than ever, a hot start and big pressure by our O scoring is our key to victory. i hope we have a schematic wrinkle in the bag so that instead of our usual D making deep outside passes hard and giving up the middle, we can make lamar pause and read the D, which turns him from the MVP into a below average NFL qb. i don't think we can present a good physical match up like we did last year, and nearly had a shot to tie it even though our o was pretty putrid.
  7. you make a good point, but it seems to be game to game. i think sick rushers still have value, but i hear you on like 2 1sts and 25mm a year for one might not make sense
  8. simms had a good take, we have to guess correctly what the d is gonna do for our scheme to work, because we just lack the beef upfront. and the simple passes that beat us when we weren't in position obviously burned us. all that said, our D took a dump entirely on 2 drives, badly timed drives, but just two back to back drives. they made necessary adjustments and stopped them twice in one drive (thanks refs) right after, so i really think if the d coaches can get that figured out, our d can look like it has for the past 5 weeks. might get trucked in the odd drive, but slow them down enough to frustrate, and score on O. as far as baltimore goes, they beat tenn cuz ten had 200 yards total O. that's awful.
  9. this is a great question. i really think the D played well, but got figured out the 3rd and 2nd last drive where we got absolutely trucked, but righted the ship late. i really think our D plays rock paper scissors, and if we get caught off or have a couple back to back bad plays, it falls apart some. vs baltimore they really need to add some wrinkles, have to stop lamar running, but on any obv passing down they have to not have predictable pass offs, or else we will see a lot of TE completions.
  10. and both of those teams have legit pass rushers. it just shows how bs that comment the dude from the nfl made during our game was, that they don't call it different in the playoffs. they called it so so different, just put the whistles away. also, aside from when our d got just trucked in two consecutive drives for 75 yard TDs with like 5 min total take off the clock (i know i know) they were actually good. i really think the colts played great on those two drives, and found something wrong with us schematically (along w some misses by the d). because we lost all momentum after the O had to punt after the terrible allen sack and fumble, but then the D got a fumble, got robbed, and still shut these guys down. maybe im being a homer, but i think the film room is the key to our D getting itself in order
  11. to me coaching will decide this game. we need a d scheme that is sound and lets our guys play, prolly have to sell out to stop lamar running. baltimore is not good on 3rd and long, that's the key for us. on O, we have to put in some wrinkles but be ourselves. this constant running junk we did vs the colts wasted drives early. allen can get his running when he sees nothing in the passing game, don't need to draw them up like the old cornhuskers every drive. looking top to bottom, every team in the AFC is dangerous. we just need to play like we are the dangerous ones, and we gonna be ok!
  12. Lol, and it was a like 25 net yard kick, if that!
  13. In your opinion! Me, I listen to the hottest takes only
  14. Aaaaand that's why he's the reigning mvp. A guy like him is a cap and a floor on your o. Cap is he can't drop back and read and throw accurately w anticipation, two minutes drills get hard Floor is he can obviously just make something happen that few others can
  15. Honestly, the AFC is a monster this year, every team in the tourney can ball. We just need our coaches on o to let josh cook, and to add enough wrinkles on d to not allow multiple truck drives. None of these secondaries can hang w allen and our weapons
  16. So, when baltimore brings out 3 wrs, it looks like they do it just to clear out q tackler from the run game, Greg romans advantage has always been tricks and misdirection, but his os are never dynamic
  17. Lamar just cannot play conventional qb. They really need to run and use the misdirection. Also, that clown from the nfl who just said they don't call things differently in the playoff must think we are all blind.
  18. Colts were better prepared scheme wise and mentally. Us losing the field position battle and getting zilch out of 2 of 3 drives off the break was a big help to the colts. We seemed to handle the run well but got burned by tes all day, so they found the flaw in the plan and used it. Dabol really goofed up w play calling lots of times trying to out smart himself. Anyhow, even with all of that and our patented late collapse on d the the team pulled it out, so we have room to improve
  19. Franky had them ready w a scheme to beat our d. Half the time rivers wasn't even looking at his wrs, who generally got well covered, backs and tes where there all day. This sorts reminded me of the tenn game, where we handled henry but Tanny Jill murdered us, with timely passes and qb runs. They converted so many consecutive third downs, it drove me mad. The fact that they never got an penalties, and almost never had negative plays was the real rub. After they get to 3rd and 6+, a single hold destroys those drives. I think small changes can help us, but as a team they were our worst match up, mainly because they are without major weakness anywhere, and it was our first playoff game and there were some jitters.
  20. I think the coaches messed up in not having the team ready. Dumb return game errors and some play calls got us in a bad spot, and the d was an open book for a lot of the game. The d did have a couple drives where they just played super fast and made things happen, including the goal line stand and the final drive. Need to get back to that and going with strength on o. Brown was a waste if a spot most of the game, I think he's not right physically, and beez isn't either. Gives us good things to improve on!
  21. Do took a dump in the second half and then beat them twice to win it. O had some junk drives, but played decent. Dabol was trash fo much if it. Well, we got out coached, we came out flat, and we let a bad matchup do everything they wanted and won. God bless us everyone
  22. Our d is too fragile of a scheme, a single bust anywhere and it's easy yards. Disgusting
  23. Weak, a vet qb and great Offensive roster is tooling out d, getting out coached. A big part of this is our scheme doesn't allow for any mistakes
