  1. Holding out hope this thread is a joke / troll job.
  2. Nicely said. Lots of good perspectives in these responses. Will be trying to do a lot of the same as well!
  3. Sounds like he left it unattended under the seat of the slingshot, which is stupid. Probably knew he was in trouble when cops were nearby since it wasn't properly secured and tried to get it put away on his person. In doing so, probably about got himself shot.
  4. Why is there no accountability on the athlete? Whys is it up to "someone else" to make sure this doesn't happen to people? Sure many athletes come from a variety of backgrounds and might not have had a lot of formal education growing up, but that doesn't mean they're incapable of making good decisions. How are you going to force someone to surround themselves with people who will have their best interests in hand? These guys have all kinds of resources available to them and make the kind of money that could sustain multiple generations in their family. They have a huge head start in life and if they make decisions that cause them to go broke, oh well. You don't blow through 50 million without personally making many many mistakes along the way
  5. Yeah but it's a lot more fun!
  6. No sympathy at all for people like this. I guarantee in every one of these stories there is a ton of "self inflicted" damage that is never mentioned.
  7. There's a whole lot of ignorance in this thread
  8. I think for most people that have a concealed carry permit, it's perfectly normal to carry under any situation allowed under law. It's kind of the point. I clearly don't know the details but I'm guessing this establishment has a no weapons policy and this incident occurred in the parking lot in a vehicle. It could be a case of cops being dicks, or it could be a case of him being careless with allowing his weapon to be seen while taking it off or putting it back on his person.
  9. My thoughts as well. I'll be interested to see if more details emerge. Certainly could be that the airline really messed up but something about it seems a bit off. The mom is already playing the emotional distress card pretty hard.
  10. I'm guessing so but not sure. In other ride sharing news, Uber is finally adding a tip option.
  11. I have a yeti soft cooler (I think also hopper 30) and also one of the larger hard coolers. The hard cooler was a gift from a vendor at work so even better. Love em both!
  12. Welcome to Cbus! I echo Buffalo Bud on Thurman and Mohawk. Thurman is usually like a 2 hour wait for a table though. There is a lot of good stuff in the Short North but it will be real busy down there since it's pride week. Very "artsy" scene in that area. I like short north pint house for beer and upscale bar food. The Easton area and Polaris area up north will have all your typical shopping and "chain" options. I'd stick to the arena district /short north/ German village areas for some more "local" vibe. I'll throw out 2 more random suggestions for food. Lindys in German village is fantastic and has a great outdoor patio. Had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding there. Also if for some reason you're interested in a steak, The Top Steakhouse in Bexley. It's about 2 minutes from my house and is a total old school steakhouse that looks like you'd expect the rat pack to hang out in. Dark, piano player, stiff drinks, simple menu, etc. Hope you enjoy Cbus happy to answer any more questions! Oh and if you're looking for something a little different, check out 16 bit (bar / arcade) or pins mechanical co. (Pinball /bar/ duck pin bowling) Also lots of good local breweries: four string, hoof hearted, seventh son to name a few.
  13. Been using both quite frequently for a number of years. I tend to use Lyft due to the ability to tip. I often don't carry a bunch of cash so I just prefer to be able to tip though the app. Have had a couple iffy Uber drivers, don't recall any bad lyft experiences. Talked to a number that work for both and they seem to prefer driving for lyft. Overall, both beat the hell out of cabs.
  14. Definitely seems a little odd. The company I work for isn't huge or anything but when we hire on new people we certainly pay for everything like that. It's not particularly difficult to get someone set up with a flight and hotel room. Even if you can afford it, I'd find a way to make them pay for it. Maybe that's just the way they do things but I'd protect myself just in case.
  15. Yup. We were up like 21-0 I wanna say?
  16. I enjoy when these mega threads hit the substitute teacher in middle school level. Straight chaos.
  17. When a guy is suspended for drugs in the NFL isn't it actually the 2nd time they've been caught? The first time is kind of a "freebie" and not reported? The percent of guys in the league using PEDs has to be uuuuge
  18. Doomed unless they get Lee Evans in there to intern as a WR coach.
  19. Used to spend a few weeks a year working around Nashville and always stayed down in Brentwood. Great area to stay in. Good place to go for a run, plenty of food nearby, quick Uber to downtown if I wanted to go out. Used to make the walk up the hill from the hotel to Judge Bean's BBQ at least 3-4 nights a week! Cheap beer, good food and cute servers!
