Nope different situation altogether than Peyton. Its kinda crazy to me after we've all watched Josh so much, how you cant see the obvious difference in drive and demeanor. Maybe watch more Ravens games. But I get you dont want to believe this for whatever reason, and I've seen enough to believe it. So agree to disagree I guess.

I dont think any of that must go together. He got those MVPs by having ridiculous stats. If you go back and look, he got a LOT of those stats in garbage time with his team already way up. The same type of situations that the Bills pull Josh and other starters. The Ravens keep Lamar in and keep him throwing to pad stats. He's had quitting accusations since his 3rd year in the league. This is nothing new. You can have good stats and be mentally soft. Totally faked an injury? No Found a good excuse to pull himself out of a bad game, and take some time to rest in a bad season? Believable

I dont think its as big as youre making it sound. Certainly not some grand conspiracy. But it's not just saving Lamar face. It's a bad look for Harbaugh and the entire organization to have Lamar go back out on Sunday like he is totally fine and make it clear he pulled himself and the coaches have no control of the team. Schitt is spiraling in Baltimore right now. It's a pick-your-poison situation, but letting Lamar rest for a week is a better look for a lot of people than having him play. They arent risking the whole season, just Sunday. The season is bad enough already.

Yes. Does he have "something" there? Probably. Just as EVERY player does. We see it on every BTS show they make on the NFL. 4 weeks in, everyone has dings and issues they are working through. The difference is, most of the other guys play through them. Cousins famously on the 1st season of Quarterbacks. Josh with his broken hand. Etc etc. If the vibes were different in Baltimore, and the Ravens were close or ahead in that KC game, I believe he would have finished the game. If the vibes were different in Baltimore, and the Ravens were 3-1, I believe he'd be playing next week and we wouldnt even know about any hammy. So while he probably isnt totally "faking" an injury, I believe he is using it to sit out of this garbage season.

Not sure how injury settlements work tho. To your point, it will be up to any language in his contract.

Ravens vs Chiefs Game thread (the Bills lamp is lit)

The vibe across the entire Ravens team is off right now. Fans were talking about how even long time veteran leaders who are always Rah-Rah guys were even hanging their heads when walking off the field early in the game. Lamar started with an INT, and then his own version of the Butt (Back) Fumble. And then he saw starters dropping to injuries. And the vibe kept getting worse. So he came up with an "injured hamstring". The mental weakness isnt just a Lamar problem, but that is certainly a place to start, as with any franchise QB. Henry's reaction after his fumble in the Lions game was unbelievable. I was surprised there were no other vets going to him to pick him up, and instead everyone let him throw himself down on the bench and then pace around wide-eyed saying "oh my god, oh my god". Between the playoff loss, and then week 1... Josh basically broke the Ravens franchise. With a little help from the Lions last week. -

Yeah, I dont think it has anything to do with Codrington being "bad" or doing something to get himself benched, but more to do with Samuel being paid $9M/yr and the other guys coming back. Codrington is a one-trick pony. And we are too short on roster spots to keep guys who only do one small thing. -
Lamar quit on his team. Disagree if you want but it was fairly obvious. It was the immediate topic in many of our chats before anything else popped up online. He didnt grab at his hammy, he didnt even limp off the field, he went right to the bench to pout and there was no training staff around him. He is an amazing athletic specimen. He is also very soft mentally and physically. That team needs something big to wake it up and turn it around. Not sure if firing the DC will be enough, but probably a good start. edit: Adam Schefter, the secret mouthpiece of the teams, just said on GetUp! "Now, we arent sure whether they were pulling him anyways because the game was out of hand, or if this hamstring injury might sideline him for weeks", so they are already starting to shift the narrative to "We were going to pull him anyways" because he's not going to miss any time because he isnt really injured. Meaning, he essentially pulled himself. Again. Because he's a quitter.

Time to discuss Reid Ferguson...

Very true. But they're coming from all over. Some up the middle, some off the edge... It's not teams all doing the same thing to get there. But it is weird. -

Blocking isnt high on the a long snappers list of duties. They're considered Defenseless Players while their "head is down, and he is in a vulnerable, unprotected state after the snap". If opposing players are coming directly through him, he needs to learn how to sell that penalty. If they are shooting the gaps on either side of him, that's on the Guards. As long as his snaps are on target, he's good.- 53 replies

Lamar is so soft. Quit on his team once they got down 17. Just like he quit on his team in Buffalo and came out on 4th down. -

I'm ok with it too. We need them more in Jan/Feb than right now. But it obviously does something to the team mentality that coaches need to be ready for. -

They were amped up and focused to try to get their first win against one of the best teams in the NFL. We were bored, distracted, and seemed to be looking past them. A tone set by the coaches resting so many starters. But it worked out. -

I think we've had 2 others of those already this season, yet here we are again. This takes me back to the 2023 season where every week we said "McDermott will wake them up after THAT". But it never happens. We'll dick around and then win on being far more talented, especially at QB. And then see what happens in the playoffs when you cant win on just talent alone. -
