  1. One of my friends who went to the U pointed out that Gore was at Miami with our QB coach Ken Dorsey when they won a National Championship. Thought that was a cool connection to have across different levels of our offensive staff.
  2. Is that why you kept asking me to help "get your keys out of your pocket" during the game last week even after you cleaned the wing sauce off your hands?
  3. Hmm, New Zealand v South Africa showing at 5:30am here tomorrow. Wonder if I can pull off starting that at 5:30am, roll into College Gameday at 9am, Migh/Wisc at Noon, Auburn/TexasA&M at 3:30pm, and Georgia/NotreDame at 8:30pm... My wife is going to LOVE this...
  4. I kinda feel bad being an All Blacks fan. Like Im cheering for the Patriots. But as an American who picked up the sport in the 90s, I didnt have much of a choice. I'll tune in if I can find any streams. Any idea if FoxSports or anyone is carrying it? edit: Did my own googling and it looks like NBC is carrying a lot of them. https://www.nbcsports.com/rugby/rugby-world-cup
  5. Hahaha, Im happy to report Ive never been in a fight inside a stadium. But I've seen enough of them, and know enough about leverage in general, to know the basics. Plus, you know, Obi Wan taught me good.
  6. Unless you can get the jump on them and yank them down hard to your row, bringing them face-first into the back of the seats in front of you. But definitely dont stand there trying to punch up.
  7. Bills fan shouldve known he was in a losing battle
  8. I've mentioned this before, but the reason we "just took a knee" there really started at 1:49 left in the half. That is when we got the ball with 2 TOs for what should have been the final drive of the half ending in us getting some points, even a FG. Instead, we started with a blunder of a QB draw that killed all momentum. We ended up going 3 and out, and giving the Giants the ball back at 1:32. Luckily, we got a decent stand by the Defense and got the ball back. I think at that point, McD didnt want to chance anything that would give the Giants momentum going into the half, we already blew our last chance, we were getting the ball after the half... so he decided to just cut any losses and end the half under our own control. I wasnt happy with how that drive at 1:49 worked out, but when we got the ball back I begrudgingly agreed with "Just get off the field for now, and get ready to reboot".
  9. For sure, and Im not bagging on them too hard. But "scoring before halftime" is one of the most overlooked keys of winning games. It's something that Belichick takes very seriously. And we cant make that same mistake against teams like the Pats, or else we are basically handing them the game. When asked about their crazy winning record over the past couple decades, Belichick has said (paraphrasing) "more teams have lost games then we have won". Meaning, it's those little things the other team doesnt execute or capitalize on that swings the favor to the Pats.
  10. If Im the owner, The $10M we are giving Kroft is CHUMP CHANGE compared to the $1.5B cash money I just paid for the team (which is already worth $2B). I'm also super happy and not ignoring the signings of Morse, Feliciano, Spain, Long, John Brown, Cole Beasley, and Frank Gore (count em, 7)... the way my most pessimistic fan is. Throw in Trent Murphy, DiMarco, and Barkley too. But yeah, Star and Benjamin arent working out as planned, and one guy is injured. Better get worked up.
  11. Classic BV HOT TAKES! Free Agent record is hit or miss. You dont say?!?! That's how it is for literally every team. (BTW, Hyde and Poyer were Whaley signings) "Established Injury History" He played in 46 out of 48 games his first 3 seasons, before his injury. So if by established history, you mean one injury, sure I guess. Dont ever change, BV.
  12. It's my desktop background so Ive built up an immunity.
  13. Thanks, toots. Nothing was coming up on the google-bot ?
  14. All very good points, and I am always leaning toward optimism... but there were some things that happened in the first 2 games that WILL sink us against better teams (namely, the PATS) When we got the ball back with 1:49 left in the first half, and two timeouts, that should have been a scoring drive that at the very least ended with us kicking a FG as time expired. Instead, we ran 3 botched plays, stopped the clock, and Punted the ball back to the Giants with 1:32 remaining. That WILL cost us the game against the Patriots who would use that time to move down the field and get points before halftime. Plenty to tighten up, but I agree overall, we seem to be a much better team as it pertains to the details and what should be irrelevant stuff that can sink a team.
  15. Lead a winning record team that has a capable offense Beat the Patriots (at least split with them consistently) Make the playoffs Win a playoff game on offense (not a 6-3 defensive battle) Until all that happens, it's just cheering how he looks in shorts and the cool stuff he says in press conferences.
  16. Not all DTs have the same job. As a 1-tech DT, occupying blockers is mostly correct. But you also need to account for the 3-tech DT, who is supposed to pass rush and stop the run in the backfield. Combined, they are used to stop the run upfront, with LBs and Safeties backing them up. Also take into account that Star has not been playing well.
  17. Agreed. And now there is a big movement going around online with folks trying to get everyone to chant "Viva Los Bills!" at kickoff on Sunday. Give it a rest already. ?
  18. Buffalo's FO bad rap started long before that with the treatment of Lou Saban and Chuck Knox. Ralph got lucky with Polian, and managed to ruin that too.
  19. No offense, but I dont think you or any of us know exactly where he is supposed to be. He makes plenty of plays in pass coverage, which seems to be the main focus of that position in this defensive scheme.
  20. So much for the idea that Hard Knocks and all the cameras are a "major distraction". Dude didnt even know they were there.
