  1. Oh, for sure. If push came to shove, I'd bet they're doing it only in an effort to reduce liability for lawsuits down the road.
  2. The schools are valuing health and safety over $, which is exactly what they should do. And hell no, I dont expect the kids to play in the spring. I'd opt out as well. Even if I wasnt going pro, even more reason to opt out. Come back in the fall healthy, instead of having just finished a season only a few months prior. Was just trying to give a glimmer of hope, even though I disagree with the idea of playing in the Spring.
  3. If there was actual leadership, and they cared about player/coach/staff safety and not the almighty dollar, they would cancel the season. Honor scholarships and eligibility for an extra year. Let seniors come back next year if needed. It would all even out in a couple years anyways with players leaving early for the NFL like they normally do. Postponing is just as dangerous and greedy. Push it back to when? Spring? And then expect them to play again a few months later in the fall? Any player going to the NFL should and would opt out anyways. Just nut up and cancel the whole thing for one year. Life will go on just fine without college sports for 1 year. These arent adults who get paid to do this like the Pros. These are amateur student athletes. They shouldnt be forced to play, nor should it be on them to make a decision.
  4. Interesting thing about Mike Hughes is that it is widely known/believed that he wasnt really a flat-earther, but instead paid them lip service to help fund his suicidal rocket hobby. He had already been building and launching rockets for years before joining that community. And only did so after his money ran out. From his wiki: In 2016, Hughes launched a failed fundraising attempt for a rocket that raised $310. After professing his belief in a flat Earth later that year, Hughes gained support within the flat-Earth community. His post-flat-Earth fundraising campaign made its $7,875 goal.
  5. Same. I watch every year. Seeing the way these billion-dollar organizations are run, and the inside conversations between coaches or coaches and GM, etc, will never stop being interesting to me. I'm actually hoping they are able to find those same old tired storylines to get a bit of normalcy. If it's 60 min of how different players are dealing with COVID, I'm out. Start with the best:
  6. I just watched 2004 Florida State vs Virginia on ESPN last night, so my standards are pretty low right now.
  7. Does anyone really care? Normally, I'd say no with these teams. But at this point of 2020, I'll take anything I can get.
  8. Welp, looks like theyre gonna have to now. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/lebanon-government-resigned-today-beirut-explosion-news-a9663301.html Beirut explosion: Entire Lebanese government to resign within hours over deadly blast, minister say The entire Lebanese cabinet is set to resign over last week’s devastating blast at Beirut port which killed hundreds of people and injured thousands more.
  9. Poor Guice, I almost feel bad for him.
  10. We know for a fact there has been intelligent alien life. But it was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. I've seen the documentaries.
  11. Pros are one thing. Those are adults getting paid. They shouldnt force these kids to play, or even force them to make the decision. Just do what is best for the players and cancel the season while letting players maintain scholarships and eligibility. It really isn't that difficult.
  12. What special treatment does your gut tell you he received? Being arrested for blowing a 0.0 is special treatment?
  13. He had an empty beer can in the door that was used for dip spit. That can was not entered in as evidence in his arrest.
  14. If it were any other coach, I'd say maybe. But Harbaugh is nuts. This is pretty on-brand for him. And when you're a 5* recruit, you get to make those decisions. If ANYTHING seems off, it's best to cut that school off your list. This is a major decision. Possibly the biggest decision of their entire lives. Michigan fan, I take it?
  15. No idea, but crazy either way. He reportedly wears his cleats on their plane as well. Imagine being the assistant coaches that worked really hard and got this 5* OT to be a heavy Michigan lean. You send in the big gun, the head coach, for a home visit to help seal the deal and afterwards the recruit is just done with you. All that work gone because in an effort to show off a brand deal he lacked basic courtesy.
  16. Ok, I'm jumping in here with what I think (hope) most of yall will be surprised is a fairly balanced take. There is a lot of lingering bad PR for Chick-fil-a, which they brought on themselves. I'll touch on why that started, and what they've done about it since. It isn't so much about their own Christian beliefs, but rather the use of their wealth to fund anti-LGBTQ groups, and using their "Christian beliefs" to justify it. Additionally, and to your question, as an example of pushing propaganda, up until only a few years ago the location on Peachtree at Collier was decorated with posters advertising their "Family Camp". Which was actually a Christian Gay Conversion camp. The owners of CFA were also partially funding those camps. They also had pamphlets available in the location which detailed "signs to look for", if you thought you needed to send your kid to get the gay converted out of them. I know that wasn't the only location to have all that. Chick-fil-a has since shifted a bit. They've taken down all the posters and distanced themselves from the conversion camps. And they've drastically changed where they are donating money. Although it still isn't perfect. Here is a great article that provides a lot of detail on the subject: Link So that is why you will often find people who have problems with CFA. THAT ALL SAID... When the controversy first hit back in 2011-12, I was working at a small startup where about 1/3 of the staff was gay or trans. There was a CFA right next door, and we all ate there pretty often. I remember asking the group if they wanted us to join the boycott, as we would happily support them. They all said no. They said they were always accepted and treated well there, and that there was even a noticeable amount of gay people working there as it was. CFA never discriminated against customers or denied service to anyone. So if they didn't mind, I didn't mind. As the link above notes, CFA has changed their donating practices a bit. Which is a step in the right direction. NOW, THE IMPORTANT PART... That Popeye's sandwich is a GAME CHANGER. I'll always love CFA, but Popeye's really nailed it. It is exactly what I've always wanted a "fried chicken sandwich" to be. It is perfection. There is no contest.

  18. I'm not a big "blame everything on CTE" guy (not saying you are either), but it does make a lot of sense here. The rest of his family all have good heads on their shoulders, and he always seems a little... off. He took a ton of hits in his career, right? At the same time, he's always been a dick too. So maybe not. lol
  19. This is NOT a satire site or article: https://www.elevenwarriors.com/college-football/2020/08/115520/jim-harbaughs-weird-insistence-on-wearing-cleats-inside-cost-michigan-a-five-star-commitment Jim Harbaugh's Weird Insistence on Wearing Cleats Inside Cost Michigan a Five-Star Commitment How disrespectful is it to refuse to remove CLEATS on someone's hard wood floors? What a dummy. Classic Harbaugh.
