Flores wanted Watson or any other QB not named Tua. Ross/Grier wanted Tua.
-
Watson never wanted to "pick the coach". As a matter of fact, he never asked or demanded to be part of it. THE OWNER told him he would be part of the discussion, and then never bothered to reach out for any input. That is all on McNair for botching that situation in what could have easily been a simple phone call with Watson to let him feel heard.
-
It's not really a conspiracy theory when it's fact. Culley was always a stop-gap, temporary solution who could have the rug pulled at any time, but got his HC gig and $8M before retiring. He went into this eyes wide open. Pretty sure they're after Flores tho.
-
That's the work of Pep Hamilton, not Culley. Culley just said he didnt know what an uptempo offense was, and he left all decision making to his coordinators. No one in Houston is surprised or upset by this. I dont think you are on Easterby's short list. But Flores definitely is, and he definitely wants to coach Watson.
-
See below vvvvvvvvv Ah, well that makes more sense, and pretty much lines up with what I've laid out in this thread. Culley was ALWAYS a temporary stop-gap. He isnt upset, and definitely not surprised if they only guaranteed 2 years. With Deshaun Watson playing, its unlikely Culley ever gets hired for the job.
-
They expected him to fill the spot that no one else would take, for a year or so, until they got a better handle on the situation with their young, star, troubled QB. Or until someone better that would take the job came along. This played out exactly as the Texans and Culley expected. It's the running theory that has been talked about on every page of this thread and all over the media right now, so I don't think you are too far out there.
-
Now, if Houston somehow botches this and DOESNT land Flores....
-
Not sure why they didn't just use the terms "old club" and "new club", but I'm sure some lawyers got paid a lot of money to make it confusing
-
From what I can tell in what you pasted, yes. The first line refers to "The employer-club" as the one receiving the draft picks. And in section b. they refer to the "employer-club" and the "new club". This leads me to believe that Baltimore would be the employer-club and Houston the new club.
-
He was with Baltimore for 2 seasons tho.
-
Nah, Culley has been ambitiously jockeying for positions for years now with the sole goal of becoming a HC, and not caring how bad or temporary the positions were. This is right in line with his MO. And I dont say that with any negative connotation. It simply is what it is. He got a 5 YEAR deal, which will continue to pay him until he is 70. This is basically his retirement plan. He's fine.
-
You dont think he knew that going in? And they have the QB Flores wanted in Miami.
-
He knew exactly what he signed up for taking this job. This can't be a surprise to him or anyone on staff, and if it is, that's their problem. I wonder how quickly they can hire Flores? I assume they canned Culley so it wasn't too embarrassing when news leaked Flores was in the building for interviews.

Shaq >>>> Obada And besides the depth he adds this year, it will be good to have him next year with all our young players as a "young vet" since we're losing Hughes and Addison. -
Anyone know if Bills are practicing Outside?

With my post count, there are plenty of places to do that outside of this thread. -

Thanks! Gonna leave this thread up for a little bit but will probably delete now that I got an answer. -
Question in the title. I've seen it asked before and am curious about this week. Does McD have these guys outside at all this week? Couldn't find anything on twitter or in reports.
