i have something that hasnt been said: there will be no ps qb chan has said in the past he doesnt like to use ps for the qb because they get no practice reps. qb1&2 get all the gameplan reps, qb3 runs the scout team. the ps qb stands around and only gets practice reps a couple times a month or if he can bribe wrs to stay late. thus the idea that the ps is normally used to develop players doesnt apply to qbs because they cant develop much if they arent throwing further, chans track record shows he only put levi brown on the ps after already cutting him once and when he had nobody else he wanted there, as soon as they found somebody they cut brown unceremoniously so just forget the idea that there will be any qb on the ps - and if one does somehow land there make sure to keep the car running cuz hes gonna be sent packing any day

Young & Smith in the Wilcat with Jackson.
Meathead replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
weaksauce vy is a physical specimen with documented ability to run consistently and effectively. im not saying they should use him this way but to compare his ability in that area to fitz is just silly im not a vy fan, dont think he even makes the team, but if he did and chan wanted to use him in a slash/wc/whatever mode then that would be fine with me as it seems to have potential. using fitz in that role hahahahaaaaa ok enough of that -

lets not forget that marshawn himself said his new found productivity was due to him finally growing up. i suspect it took him getting ushered unceremoniously out of town that made him wake up and transform from thugnificent to the real beastmode -

Message to Chan: RUN THE BALL!
Meathead replied to John Cocktosten's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
doesnt matter of chan LOVES it or not, thats just the way it is now. this is now an exclusively passing league when i say exclusively im not saying teams never run. and some teams choose to be primarily a running team but that doesnt mean its a good formula any longer. name one running team that has won a title recently. im waiting. any time now the last team that even made it to the sb without an elite qb? 2007 the bears and rex grossman the last team to actually win the sb without an elite qb? 2003 with brad johnson and the bucs this has ruined the game imo. now you either have a qb or you have close to zero chance to win a title. the qb position should be important, but not THAT important. now it overshadows EVERYTHING. the pack and the cheaters made it last season with two of the weakest defenses in the entire league. the pack defense was dead last fans like scoring more than their team having a real chance to win i guess. personally i wish theyd go back to letting the dbacks cover down the field and thus put more emphasis on the rest of the offense and defense. it wouldnt just be pass pass pass run pass pass pass all the time. more teams would have a chance -
this kelsay gets most of the run downs giving some of them up to anderson; merriman splits pass downs with anderson; killer rotation

The Long road to the NFL - Cool Story
Meathead replied to erynthered's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
les brown - who here didnt think he was black? i figured he had a chance as a black guy, but now that i know hes white he has no chance lol. it would be a pretty cool story. i was trying to figure out the last guy that made it as a walk-on. i know theres a handful you would recognize but i cant think of any -
dont see how that makes any difference to the quality of the calls and lets be honest, you might as well just roll a freakin dice the way it is now. they certainly dont get the call right nearly as much as they should. still cant figure out how the hell stevie johnson didnt have a first down in cincy. i meain its. right. there. on. the. screen. and yet the ref calmly walks up and says ruling on the field stands. for that kind of efficiency i can roll a damn dice every single week of the season there is at least one blown replay call somewhere. and i dont mean homerism calls, i mean clear as day evidence right in front of you and yet somehow they still get it wrong. i just dont get how they cant eliminate the overwhelming majority of those want-to-pull-your-hair-out errors its so absurdly obvious they need to move all the replay calls upstairs. idk wtf they are waiting for

idk man, another dominating dlineman could keep the defense humming all season lets be honest, anderson is a passing down starter only. kelsay is a great rotation guy but he only plays end. none of the other backups have established a thing. carrington and troupe could be considered mild busts so far and have to sink or swim this season. merriman, edwards, and spencer j might be washed up. heard outplayed low expectations last season but that might not be good enough. batten, dotson, gilbert? negro please so yeah if chuddywanwhaley wants to go a versatile dlineman there im game

A.B.T for success in the 2012 NFL Draft
Meathead replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
if you mean A Big Tush then im on board. a lt or de that ends up a high quality starter would be great still think they are going wr tho. they seem to purposely be shying away from using the top pick on a wr, saying they like their guys and the draft is deep at that position. leaves me thinking they want to downplay their interest and end up with pink floyd -
still dont think aikman belongs. hes a lot like bob griese, guys that got in because they had all-pros all around them but were not dominant players on their own. i always ask people, name one game either aikman or griese hoisted the team on their shoulders and won games by themselves? the answer is always crickets. you can point to good games they had but never willed their team to victory i can point to multiple games where kelly did that, elway did that, marino did that, favre did that. not one for aikman or griese. and i have no axe to grind against these guys ... well other than i hate those teams lol. in fact griese played when i was a little **** and didnt know any better and they were my second favorite team ... ok tied for favoritew but the bills sucked so i kinda cheated on them for a few years. but i loved bob griese and he just cant make the case that he was that great imo i can even say mcnabb won more games on his own than either of those two guys. but he sucked enough at key times to be borderline at best for the hof hey life aint fair. and it works both ways. ask andre reed ok and definitely for kurt warner imo. after seeing what happened to arizone before, during, and immediately after his time there, i really think he was the main force for the greatest show on turf. didnt seem like it at the time what with marshall and bruce and torry and haz and that freakin ol but im not sure anybody else makes that offense rain points like they did. jmo
