i agree it does take time and the bills will struggle to keep pace in the playoff race but they have a few things in their favor that gives them their best chance in years to make it. they have a mature offense going into its third season with most of the same players, including solid depth everywhere except catching te. they have a defense loaded with veteran players to help ease the transition and already played a lot of the 4-3 last season. and they have a relatively easy schedule they will likely need ten wins to get into the playoffs and should be in the hunt late into the season. having five of their last seven games at home could prove to be key in nailing down a spot

A career .367 hitter at St. John Fisher in his collegiate days, Brandon was regarded as a dark horse in the event - and he started strong, making nice contact on a liner to center that cleared the fence. http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120709&content_id=34791648&vkey=news_t422&fext=.jsp&sid=t422

i really wish we could go back in time and try just letting jp run around like a taller flutie. i used to scream at the tv 'roll out, roll out, roll frikkin out'. yeah i remember the jets roll out but that was one play. he had shown the ability to create on the fly before and i wish they had tried that more often. the attempt to turn him into a pocket passer was a disaster in every way except the long ball. i just wonder what would have happened if they had let him be creative who knows if anything would have worked with him or not, but one thing i do know is he was jerked around more than any qb in bills history. just about anybody would have failed with that kind of coaching

ive been doing this so long that i generally let people process things for a few days before commenting. they learn more that way, they retain it better, and i have to teach less all anyone needed was right there in the one comment. i make statements like that to give people a chance to respond so they can see their bias in their own words. they need to hang themselves a little so you get enough of their own material to show them where they are wrong in this case, it was such an easy comment to decipher that i was a little surprised how aggressively the few attackers came out, though perhaps i shouldnt be. even if youre not familiar with the rush controversy, which would make it super obvious, its pretty easy to discern that it was a mild joke based on decades of bias against black qbs. only the most blind of race issue bats wouldnt have seen that, which unfortunately still includes a disappointingly large number of people totally disagree like i said, ive been doing this a long time and ive found that people dont respond to this topic in a normal rational way. theres like an extra several layers of hysteria that gets piled on top and they simply wont respond to most usual dialog. its like a hard shell of hysterical protection and intransigent resistance. this is especially true of the attackers, so you have no choice but to hit them between the eyes because any other approach simply doesnt work note that once i did that there was no response. thats because there was no winning response left, i hit them hard and with pure unassailable logic. believe me, if you leave an opening they will try to rush through it, but they couldnt, there is nothing left to debate. if you just kitty foot around then they will keep coming back at you again and again. you have to sort of knock them on their ass and then let them go lick their wounds in order to have any chance to break that shell on that topic im not here to be popular, make friends, or make people feel comfy. im here to knock those barriers down, and in decades of doing this work ive found the fastest way to do that is to hit hard and bluntly didnt peter griffen say that in a recent family guy too? i could be remembering that wrong but i think he did -
Am I the only one finds Hillary Clinton ....
Meathead replied to truth on hold's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
wow i mean, just wow really. and yet some people actually think she would could pull of a sec of state job. and i know they arent the only ones, given palins astounding popularity. honest to god that makes me concerned for the country im an independant, ive voted for more republicans for pres than democrats, and yet i find the comparison between hillary and palin laughable. hillary is smart, regal, presentable, and a terrific sec of state. palin is a dumber rush limbaugh with breasts and would be a total disaster in that job like i said, concerned for the country ive noticed that too, but i think there could be other reasons. first, shes just getting older and simply looks it. also, i dont think a dolled up woman is appropriate for that job anyway. she needs to go into many countries where woman are already demeaned and/or objectified, she needs to present an air of established dignity. she can only try so hard to look good or risk being devalued as a bimbo on the cover of glamor magazine. frankly, i noticed she doesnt do up her hair or anything, just lets it hang, and honestly i think thats a better look for her at this point in that job. all business -

ive got out of at least twenty tickets this way - be pleasent, respectful, tell the truth just a few weeks ago i got pulled over on the youngman, cop asks me how fast i think i was going, i said 71. he said he had me at 75 then asks me what i thought the limit was there, which i thought was 65 but its 55. then he asks me if i thought i should get a ticket and i said no because i set my cruise control at 71, to which he says 71 to 75 isnt a big difference and i said no but ive never been pulled over for going 71 in a 65, so even though in this case the limit was actually 55 my intention was to stay within what the cops always allow in that situation not so amazingly he let me off. they almost always let me off when i tell them the truth and talk to them like im thankful they are there, which i am. not that cops cant be dicks cuz they sure can, but being a dick back to them only leads to nuthin but trouble

i always thought it was pretty dumb retaining the fish in the east. those rivalries will quickly develop with anybody you play twice a season. within two years we would hate the browneyes, beengals, and mouth rapers as much as the fish, nyets, and cheaters. in a city trying to keep its stadium full wth would you not want to have the three other division teams within a one-afternoon driving distance. theyd sell out every one of those games regardless of month no question. the downside is we would have the mouth rapers beating the crap out of us all the time but they would just take the place of the cheaters anyway

shoulda included a poll. bet it would be about 80/20 glenn/hairston but im goin with hairston for game one. too much to learn to throw glenn right in there when you have a capable starter already in hairston. if pears is ready then glenn probably sits until one of the ends gets injured or when chan thinks hes ready probably by mid season so rules judge mh so it shall be

well its not about race the way most of us are perceiving it, namely white racism persecuting innocent blacks, which simply did not happen here in any context. but it is indeed about race. and the media is also culpable, but they are only feeding us what most of us believe and want to hear anyway this is about two critical things: white guilt and black rage. both of these things are understandable given our history, but both are bad and need to be overcome before we will move past the time wasting cathartic overreactions that plague our growth white people wanting to make amends for past sins currently are bending over backwards to accept 'blackness', some of which is good, but unfortunately that includes going too far to find excuses for bad black behavior. professor henry gates, the harvard man who was arrested for giving the police a hard time when they wanted to ask him some questions after seeing him breaking into his own house, was really nothing more than a black man behaving very badly. we know the white officer was a diversity trainer, had a black partner, and was not racist. he was simply doing his job. but not only did we not hold mr gates accountable for his behavior, we allowed him to become a hero in the black community. that sends a horrible message to us all and reinforces completely the wrong things george zimmerman was a dick and deserves to go to jail for manslaughter for being so irresponsible to chase someone through a neighborhood with a gun. however, treyvon martins own behavior was in fact the primary reason the situation turned deadly. it was he that decided to wear his hoodie up through an unfamiliar neighborhood when he knows that that up hoodie means (see my previous post). it was he that then decided he needed to go out of his way to punish his stalker - a foolish move when he had full opportunity to make it to his destination safely. it was he that decided to respond with extreme violence when he had not even been touched himself. the fact that most of us completely ignore this reality points directly where the main problem lies - white guilt and black rage. it is not appropriate to respond to something you dont like with sudden and extreme violence. its is not appropriate to provide lame excuses for people who decide to use violence as a response to something they dont like lets look at a lame excuse example: see how this observer goes out of their way to bend and break the facts to find rationalization? first off, treyvon was not assaulted, he was followed. it was treyvon that committed the assault, but this observer decides to completely switch that responsibility so that it fits his objective. and zimmerman was a total jerk, but he was not a 'nutjob', this observer using that phrase to intimate that some lunatic was chasing around treyvon with his smith and wesson cocked and looking for blood. that was clearly not the case, but that doesnt stop this observer from again changing the facts to fit his agenda for sure its a tragedy that this kind of thing had to happen. but it highlights some very key lessons that we should not waste - this was not about white/black racism. the fact that millions of people of all color got stuck on that and man STILL believe that it was shows how utterly screwed up we are on this topic. it we admit that to ourselves we can then have the humility that will allow us to learn and grow past it. so far it doesnt appear that has even happened - sadly, too many black folks are tolerant of using extreme violence in response to perceived disrespect. note i certainly didnt say all, plenty of fine gentle black folks, but way too high a percentage of blacks respond with sudden and extreme violence to address all kinds of disputes. the frequency of blacks conducting beat downs at fast food joints and high school football games is beyond embarrassing at this point. i firmly believe it is the widespread addiction to this 'gangsta' mentality that is so entrenched in black culture that it feels to them like the 'norm' of blackness, when of course it certainly doesnt have to be - too many white people are prone to enabling bad black behavior by making excuses. in a rush to show how non-racist they are, they embrace even negative elements of the black culture, and ignore real behavior problems. its good to want to extend ourselves to continue to fully integrate blackness into the american culture, but just like individuals every social strata has positive and negative aspects and we have to recognize where those differences are. we cant get past these problems if we dont all acknowledge that they exist -

thank you hplarrm for your calm detailed responses. you make some very good an interesting points however, im afraid youre ignoring the white elephant in the room that a lot of black folks do, which is the full collection of reasons why black folks are profiled in this country. i dont mean to single you out personally, but i do feel like i have to address some of the assumptions youve made because i believe they arent entirely accurate and clarification is required so we can work to get past some of these difficult issues sure, a great deal of profiling is just pure old fashioned racism. i grew up in that environment and battled it all the way, most of my early life i was disgusted by the behavior of the white majority, i am intimately familiar with entrenched white bias. weve come a long way to improve the prejudging of black folks for no good reason, and we still have some work to do on that however that doesnt tell the whole story profiling of black folks especially black males is also performed because black folks represent a massively disproportionate amount of the extreme violence that occurs in this country. thats a very tragic but very real truth we must always include in the discussion before we will be able to solve the problem of profiling. and it certainly isnt just white people profiling, you know as well as i do that black folks profile black folks all the time. ive been with my black friends who crossed the street when unfamiliar blacks were approaching or avoided driving through intersections with black youths on the sidewalks. black cabbies profile black fares because they have experienced that violence themselves. douchebag hispanic neighborhood watchmen profile young black males in hoodies because they commit the most burglaries in those neighborhoods. if the night watchman had been black he would have been out there doing exactly the same thing and ironically, it appears that it was treyvon himself that initiated the actual physical violence in that case. certainly he himself doesnt deserve to be stalked by an over-zealous night watchman jerk off because hes black, but he also doesnt get a free pass to respond with extreme violence because someone is doing something he doesnt like. he responded the way a lot of young black males addicted to this ridiculous 'gangsta' culture do, that any perceived disrespect deserves swift and extreme violence. in this case, it was retaliation for a non-violent event, being stalked by a jerk. but if treyvon hadnt attacked that jerk treyvon wouldnt be dead. treyvon had ample chance to reach his destination and made the choice to alter his course and backtrack to go attack zimmerman. you do not have the right to brutally attack someone for doing something you dont like, and im afraid a lot of young blacks simply do not understand that right now one thing that bothered me immensely was the disingenuousness of some black folks regarding this hoodie issue. if you spend any time in the ghetto like i do performing volunteer work and visiting the churches and food joints that i love, you will undoubted know that most of the flyers promoting events in the hood say 'no hoodies' on them. ive asked several black folks why that is and they look at me like im a fool before saying because hoodies are used by black folks to shield their identity in the hood while they commit crimes, thus they are 'menacing'. thats the word everyone i asked used, menacing. and yet, after the treyvon martin incident i saw all kinds of black folks walking around in major neighborhoods defiantly sporting their hoodies. the average white person has no idea about hoodies being banned in the ghetto, but black folks sure do. they knew they couldnt get away with that in their own neighborhoods without getting profiled, but somehow white folks get condemned for the same exact behavior. not very cool i will wrap this up by pointing out what i think it the source of some of these inappropriate views by black folks, which is this ridiculous idea that blacks cant be racist because they dont have the 'power'. if there is one green dude on the planet walking around saying how much he dislikes and distrusts non-greenies, what do we call that one green dude? racist. unless he has a big ass ray gun he has no power, but he certainly is racist. and yet tons of black folks still honestly believe they cant be racist, apparently because they feel they cant exert power or some such nonsense. of course this simply frees anyone holding this idea to be as biased and hateful as they want to be. after all, if i cant be racist then hallelujah im gonna prejudge everybody so to summarize, we certainly need to continue to focus on the issue of white racism to finish the job of of ensuring civil rights for all. however, i sternly believe we need to spend more time focusing on black racism and acknowledge the negative elements in what is mostly a beautiful black culture in this county. right now we are only addressing at most half the problem, and until we address the other elements we are simply delaying the inevitable -

blackouts havent made sense for a long time, its amazing it took them this long to do something i wonder how popular the smart phone replays will really be? i always just brought a radio to tune to the in-stadium radio broadcast and watched the replays on the jumbotron. im not sure i would bother carrying a smartphone to see/hear the same stuff unless there was tons of unique content there. even then, do i really want to stand there squinting at my phone all day? idk -

oh hell no, absolutely no backpeddling AT ALL. i dont need to rehabilitate a damn thing. if you wish you can go to other boards and see my decades of work there on this topic. i am very proud of what i do, i seek to erase these kinds of ridiculous false boundaries that keep people from coming together over stupid ass stuff. i will stand here all day to debate you and anyone else on this topic, and i will tear you apart with pure educated well experienced logic i have loved black folks since i was a kid growing up deep in the heart of redneck crackerland. i have been on numerous organized diversity councils. ive been a member of several urban leagues (the black business associations). i married a black woman. i have been doing this a loooong time and taken on a lot of people. i have a ton of material i will beat you over the head with. the funny thing is it wont even be that hard because people (especially overcompensating white people) are so screwed up on this topic they actually make it easy for me lets start with this: i expect you now to use the same standard of outrage for every comment on this site with any race element to it. that means no more redneck jokes can pass by you without you showing the same kind of righteous contempt. you can never let anyone make fun of white running backs again - ever. in fact, no more fat jokes, no more dumb people jokes, not even making fun of fruity dolphin fans or references to what big jerks the jets fans are oh you cant do that? youre going to save your outrage only for any reference to black folks? now who is prejudging things, now who has different standards based on color, hmmmmm? i can give you all kinds of logic why the typical guilt ridden misplaced white outrage is an inferior response that does NOTHING to help the real problem of racism and in fact only hurts the cause. can you give me any logic whatsoever why youre totally different standards are appropriate? your turn. this will be good unfortunately its not just the younger generation, i see this problem across all ages of white people. its took me decades to get through to my thick headed relatives why they should accept black folks, then it took me years to get them to not be so flip out sensitive when i make jokes about my black girlfriends, usually in front of them. theyd be outraged, while my girlfriend would just laugh, but theyd still be outraged so many white people just. dont. get. it. and its really a big problem, almost as big as the original racism itself yeah, no kidding. and anybody that likes dave chappel, anybody that likes family guy, anybody that watches thirty rock. just about anybody that isnt a guilt ridden, overcompensating, socially blind as a bat, desperate to show how racially sensitive they are, full of crap white person not so ironically, black folks seem to like my humor more than white people nowadays. though admittedly i have some people that need teaching there, too -

no problem. ive been banned places before over this issue and it serves its purpose very well. its classic civil disobedience to make a point. there is nothing more powerful than an idea whos time has come and this is an idea that is way past due martin luther king used it to great effect. look up the name bull connor, a racist white police chief who tried to intimidate and stifle dr king by threatening him with dogs, fire hoses, and putting him in jail. ironically, and very intentionally set up by dr king, those arrests worked directly against bull connor and drew great attention to the dr kings cause. now bull connor is viewed as one of the most pathetic ridiculed figures in civil right history. and for good reason so whos gonna be tbd's bull connor? i would be honored to be banned in that tradition. just remember, i will eventually be back, and i will say and do exactly the same things. and by then there will be plenty of people willing to stand up for what right and start driving these ridiculous white guilt double standards to the fringe where the hell they belong
