McBean’s draft history and who we draft at 27

The only thing clueless in his response was the attempt to answer ill-mannered belligerence with honest decency. Very poor form. -

I've been thinking of him as a second rounder. The Tennessee offense just didn't require much of a route tree from him and the scheme bought him a lot of open space that is harder to come by in the pro game. When you look at the potential, however, it is a high ceiling, so I'm coming around towards thinking maybe he should be a consideration at 27. -

Awesome if he is there at 59. Given your parameters, and we know the Bills brought Darnell Washington in for a visit, what if he passed their team medicals? Wouldn't he be a consideration? -

Even better, trade 27 for 34. Pick up Hopkins, take Downs at the top of the second. -
Great pick, imo. Folks will think this is too early. I bet he goes around here if the medical issues are a smokescreen.

Pretty impressive sleuth work. -
ESPN had the mock draft where the team reporters make the pick tonight. Addison was our pick at 27.

Well thought out. For Texans pick number 12, you intend a QB that is drafted next year, you inadvertently wrote WR. I don't think there is any way Dalton Kincaid is not a first rounder. I would take him if he's on the board at 27, but someone will.

Beane needs a good draft and I have my concerns about the roster build. Nonetheless, the Bills remain formidable. There were a lot of things that happened last year that cumulatively added up to an extraordinary amount of adversity to overcome and by the end, the team was spent. I expect a bounce back year. I'm not sold on Rodgers, though he might be energized by the trade. I think it's just as likely age catches up with him. He doesn't have Brady's intense focus and zeal for the game. Allen is still the best qb and that is often the ultimate trump card.

Honestly, I figured some of those fellas were already gone.

Excellent sentiment, but selfishly I believe this thread would be better if there was a pic of Rachel jumping out of a cake.
-
Okay. The board isn't looking too fun to my eye, though a trade back for Hopkins might seem plausible if this were the way it plays out.
-
I guess I don't know all the bylaws of this spectacle. If a player is selected in a prior version of the draft, you can't pick him in another? Seems odd and arbitrary.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
Dr. Who replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
If a trade for Hopkins involves moving back from 27 to 34, I'm tempted to take Josh Downs who is going to be an excellent slot receiver. I would trade Davis for a pick, but doubt Beane would. -
Doesn't seem to be much point of a draft with trades if obvious situations that pertain to the home team never come up. Maybe that DHop trade is already a done deal . . .
-
He might be the pick. The folks I trust on this board are not high on him. In general, I am for upgrading the oline, so naturally I hope it works out well if that is how the draft unfolds. My critique of Campbell's mock involves the various choices as a whole. I can see DT early, but not back-to-back. This is a draft with superior TE talent and the Bills have had a few in for visits, so I think it disappointing he has no TEs or WRs among our selections.
-
Have you looked at Campbell's most recent mock? Don't like it. O'Cyrus Torrence G, Gervon Dexter DT, Zacch Pickens DT, Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson CB, Ryan Hayes OT, Ivan Pace, Jr LB Torrence is not a fit for Kromer and Campbell admits Torrence is a sloppy body type, then two DTs and a CB. No WR or TE, not one offensive weapon.
-
You trying to trigger folks? No defensive picks is metaphysically impossible with Beane and Co. Don't think Bergeron makes it to 59. Mingo might go in the second. None of them are bad picks in isolation.
-
I broached the subject. Apparently no one is interested.

Draft Prospect Interviews with Bills - Post 'em here
Dr. Who replied to Yantha's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love Bergeron, but not so much at 27. -
That seems a credible point regarding dump-offs and short slot routes. But then I think if you have two rbs on the field a lot, you might want to run the ball and I'm back to thinking they need a better oline. Really, whatever base formation they decide on they need to spend some early draft resources up front. If not in the first, there are second and third round folks (Bergeron, Mauch, Avila, Schmitz, Duncan, and Steen just off the top of my head) that ought to be considered. Pretty sure you agree on the oline if I recall past posts correctly.
-
You can't draft positions. This is lazy. Name names or you forfeit the meaningless game. Campbell might be there at 59. I probably wouldn't take him then. I'm not worried about LB. If I were, I'd take Trenton Simpson ahead of him.
-
I think they would trade up for Addison, though probably not at the price it would take to get to #20.
-
If I am reading the conventional trade value chart correctly, if the Bills wanted to get to #20, 27, 91, and 137 is a slight overpay. Assuming the Seahawks were even interested, I'm not sure Beane would be willing to pay that price given he only has six picks. I rather doubt it, though there is at least one player still on the board I think they would trade up to acquire.
