  1. They may have changed their criteria since Arians left, but I was under the impression they were more inclined to take a big, prototypical pocket passer.
  2. I think you can probaby get him at 22.
  3. Your avatar might be a clue
  4. Me, too. I am going to piggyback on Gunner's vote. Now it's 3 votes.
  5. I know. I meant if this were how the real draft went, trading down would be an option I would consider. And CB in the first is a Buffalo tradition.
  6. This is really the worst possible draft result. If it starts moving in this direction, there will be a trade up. At this point, a trade down would make sense.
  7. Yes. If you're jumping off your roof, you've invested too much in football. Life is bigger than that.
  8. I generally agree with your sentiment, though I would limit #2 to the big four. You don't need to trade up to 2 if you want Lamar Jackson, for instance. There's a chance the Jets would take Mayfield, but I think they will pick Rosen. Mayfield is likely available at 6, but if you have decided he is the guy, take him at 2 if you want to eliminate risk of missing out.
  9. I'm one of the few on this board who would be fine with a trade up to 2 to take Allen. The top four all have question marks. I think Mayfield will grow out of his maturity issues.
  10. You are considerably higher on Rudolph than I am. I admit you have a more professional eye, but I'm still going with my own assessment. At 22, I can barely tolerate Rudolph. I would hope a lb would be available at 12 (UGA fan, so I love Roquan Smith.) All that said, I am not a hater who wants to be proved right at any cost. Rudolph is a likeable fella and I will root for him to be great if we take him. I just want more than the next Andy Dalton.
  11. I think he is a significant drop off and it would be a criminal overpay to take him at 12.
  12. If you think Mayfield is the same psychology as Manziel, you are welcome to your opinion. I think he is a fierce competitor who will put football first when it matters.
  13. Manziel was in love with celebrity and had no interest in X's and O's. He admitted as much in a recent interview. Naturally, no one knows who will hit and who will miss. Everyone is making an educated guess, but Mayfield's commitment to football is lightyears better than where Manziel was.
  14. Yeah, we are on the same page. If Cleveland takes Darnold at 1, I think there is a reasonable chance we will pay a king's ransom for 2. I suspect we may take Allen in that case. If Cleveland takes Allen, I think Giants may take Darnold at 2. Jets will go for Rosen at 3 in any case, imo. Would Cleveland trade 4? I think they take Chubb and Barkley falls a bit. My guess is we would trade 12 and 22 to the Colts for 6 and take Mayfield if the Broncos pass on him (I think they will.) If neither of these scenarios work out, I would consider Lamar at 22 if he is there. Otherwise, I take Mike White later in the draft, but if we miss out on one of the big four, it will be a major disappointment and a sign that Beane got blindsided by the Jets.
  15. 25 years in the qb desert. We finally invest in getting the draft picks to get a true potential franchise qb and we are going for the next Andy Dalton? Horrible.
  16. He's not Manziel. That's a lazy comparison. Mayfield is an intense football competitor. He has a pretty high floor, imo. Allen has the highest ceiling, but he is much more of a gamble. I would be happy with either, so I don't feel the need to denigrate one player to promote another . . . unless you're advocating for Mason Rudolph
  17. I was persuaded by Bandit's arguments. If he is right, Allen's problems are correctable. He has experience with a pro-style offense, reads the field well, and is intelligent. He is not truly a qb with intractable inaccuracy issues, but it will take time.
  18. Mayfield and Rosen are the safest picks. I like them both. Darnold and especially Allen are risks, but I would still take them. I think those of you who are convinced Allen is destined to be a bust are far too confident he will fail. I think there is a reasonable chance he will succeed and possibly be very good. Team that drafts him better slow cook the development, though. If you're not committed to that, don't draft him.
  19. It clearly doesn't. Law of averages finally worked so that a mediocre at best team laden with hardworking vets squeaked in. Don't care. Getting the qb is still priority #1.
  20. Bandit convinced me to think better of Allen. Rosen is clearly the safer pick, however.
  21. I am guessing this is contingent on Darnold going to Cleveland at 1. So, who is the guy at 2 if they trade up? I surmise Mayfield is the fella they might move up between 6 - 10 for, but I have no read on what they are really thinking.
  22. OP has an agenda I don't agree with. Gunner seems to think there is already a deal in place with the Giants, perhaps contingent on who the Browns take at 1. A price "somewhere in between" is most plausible.
  23. I can't see 2 going for so little after the Jets inflated the price of moving up.
