  1. I surmise he is inferring Watkins and Darby were traded because they didn't fit in with the Process culture and that Rosen would not either. Speculation based on not much.
  2. I know. In another thread, I indicated that I thought durability concerns were genuine. The rest is overblown to the point of hyperbole. Bringing up Kaepernick is not relevant, imo. If Kaepernick was a top 5 qb in the league, he would be employed.
  3. If one of the big 4 slides to 12, they would be foolish not to take them imo, but then again, I don't have the research they do, so I am not as cognizant of off-field issues that may play into their thinking.
  4. I'm inclined to agree with your surmise. I would pass on Rudolph before round 2. As I've said elsewhere, might as well wait and take a flier on White or Lauletta, but that's a failed draft given their aspirations for a potential franchise qb. I also prefer Darnold because I think there is less risk there and a high ceiling, though Allen will be the best if he realizes his ceiling.
  5. That's possible, but it only helps us if we are in on one of the fellas that is dropping.
  6. True or not, that's a plausible take. I hope they are able to move up, because settling for a Day 2 guy is not very appealing.
  7. Right, but trading Alex Smith would also seem to indicate their faith in Mahomes is genuine, misplaced or not.
  8. It was rumored Whaley wanted to take a qb. I think he liked Mahomes, but no way to verify.
  9. I argued for Mahomes a lot and Watson some last year. Just increases the pressure to get a franchise qb in this draft. I really doubt Mahomes is going to fail, but you need both he and Watson to turn out poor to mediocre for passing on them not to be a factor in judging the acumen of the present regime, though Whaley's status and the flux of new folk are perhaps mitigating factors as well.
  10. I dunno, everyone's so stupid here, maybe nobody will get your point
  11. Yeah, that's all cogent. I am willing to gamble more, because I think Allen could be exceptionally good. The development structure would have to be in place and I think you are right to question whether it is. I'd also be happy getting Rosen or Mayfield at 7 and keeping 22.
  12. I like Allen and would be fine with it. I know I'm in the minority. I do agree Mayfield or Rosen at 7 is both a safer and a less expensive trade up.
  13. This is reasonable and not a bad joke, so thanks for that. I think we like two of Darnold, Allen, Rosen; not sure which two. If our evaluation leads them to believe in Allen, I am quite happy taking him. He has the highest upside. I prefer Darnold. If we are able to trade up to #2 and do so before the draft, that would obviously indicate we have two acceptable candidates, whoever they are.
  14. LOL. I was responding to Badlands who basically said we were prepared to let him walk, so if he gave the bonus back, no harm, no foul. I wasn't offering a reasoned account, just explaining why I wouldn't go for that. I didn't say a team would offer a great pick. I said I wouldn't let him go unless there was draft compensation. But, you know, thanks for the encouragement to be reasonable.
  15. I know. I'm mad about his emotionaly unstable, foolish tantrum mode of trying to get his way. The penalty is I now want a draft pick.
  16. I want a decent draft pick coming back if he wants to play for another team.
  17. Just draft E. St. Brown; same receiver, better character, rookie contract.
  18. Mad Hatter isn't dull. Why so serious?
  19. To each his own. I like the top four. I think Rosen and Mayfield are the safest picks. I am inclined to risk for upside. Darnold is a risk, but I like his creativity. Allen is more of a risk, but I don't find it implausible that he could develop into an exceptional talent. Too bad so many of you are just sure he will be terrible. I even rather like Jackson. If we stick at 12 and the top four are gone, I'm okay taking Jackson. The only thing that would anger me is taking Rudolph at 12 as I think he is a third round qb. Might as well wait and get White or Lauletta in that case.
  20. I think he is, but he also has a high ceiling. Have to trust your team's evaluation, whatever it is; in general, I'd rather try for the fella that could be exceptional than go for a fairly certain mediocrity. A really good player with a higher floor would be preferable, though, imo.
  21. Allen is certainly not the least risky. I like him, but it's a gamble.
  22. I'm ambivalent about Bryant. I do think some of his drop in production is due to lack of chemistry with Prescott and change in offense. A different kind of qb could probably elicit better results.
  23. Well, pocket passer, yes, but I was talking big as in physically large. 6'3" is fine, but he looks slight.
  24. My impression is that Beane wants a big pocket passer. Some think he might be interested in Josh Allen because of arm strength and size comparison to Cam. One of the concerns with Jackson, merited or not, is whether he can hold up. Is he likely to be another RG3 or not? I don't think your surmise is completely implausible, but it is counter to most of what I have heard/read.
  25. Being called out by some posters is actually an indication that you are a good contributor.
