  1. OP does not appear to be aiming at the risible.
  2. I think MrEpsYtown brings good insight. He's usually very perceptive about o-line in particular. Nonetheless, I agree with your argument.
  3. I actually opened the thread thinking it must be a joke.
  4. I'd rather grab Oliver at nine and trade up from 40 into the back end of the first to get Dillard.
  5. I can actually see Beane taking Oliver at #9, trading up from #40 into the end of round one if Dillard is available.
  6. Dillard is probably the best potential LT. I still take Oliver at #9, but I do think Dawkins can be a great LG.
  7. Who is your preference for the pick at #9? I think Beane has positioned himself to go in numerous directions. I like Oliver, because I think he can be a disruptive DT, but if you think he's too small and will get pushed around, that's a reason to back off. A fella like Dillard who could end up being a quality LT makes sense, especially if you think Dawkins might be a superlative LG. I don't see a WR at #9, mainly because DK seems too risky there. Bosa and Allen will be gone early, so where's the edge that early? I think our cb situation is good enough you don't expend a first there.
  8. Harry would be a solid choice if he is available in the second. Don't forget about Duke Williams, however. He might turn out to be that big bodied receiver that can go get it.
  9. Your need to habitually express contempt for those who have a higher opinion of Allen's abilities than you may be a reactionary defense mechanism from your days as a homer who supported EJ far longer than most. I don't really know, but throwing "cult" around is tiresome and mean-spirited. It's been a long time since folks could be plausibly optimistic about a Buffalo Bills qb. At minimum, Allen improved over the course of his rookie season and persevered under less than ideal circumstances. If you choose to be dour and skeptical, that's your choice, but there's no need to insinuate that those who are enthusiastic about Allen are irrational dimwits.
  10. Yes, we like them when they say nice things, we hate them when they don't. I also like beer.
  11. I don't think we pass on elite DL at #9, but a trade back, picking up another second and drafting Harry is a nice plan. Harry and Andy Isabella are the wrs I like best in the draft. DK might turn out well, but too much risk, imo.
  12. Yeah, like no attention was given to the offense in free agency and there aren't draft picks after #9? ?
  13. Who is a top pick LT? I'm not convinced it's Jonah Williams at LT. This is a credible plan, btw, though I personally favor DL at #9.
  14. The abundance of free agent o-line signings suggests #9 more likely addresses a different position. I would not rule out Beane trading up or down (I'd love to get to #2 ahead of the Jets for our choice of Bosa, Quinnen Williams, or Josh Allen.) If he stays at nine, I think there's a fair chance Oliver is on the board, BPA, and the pick.
  15. I'd be surprised if they don't go with a TE early, probably round 2.
  16. You are the love child of Debbie Downer and Eeyore.
  17. Cole Beasley and John Brown appear to think Josh Allen is franchise NFL qb material. They made career decisions based on that opinion, but what do they know compared to internet skeptics with years of keyboard experience?
  18. I am confident that patience, open-mindedness, and logical, just conclusions will continue to evade your interlocutor.
  19. So is the run game with the dbs having to cover the entire field.
  20. Why would you put Dawkins at RT where he wasn't good there his rookie year and then put a rookie or FA at LT to protect Allen's blindside? There aren't any LTs of note available in FA. Trent Brown was the only plausible option there. Bring in D. Williams at RT; if not, you are probably trying to resign Mills (alas) and drafting a rookie to eventually replace him. If you did bring in a hypothetical LT which doesn't really exist, Dawkins moves to LG, Teller and Long would battle it out at RG. I have concern about D. Williams' durability. If healthy, he would be a good signing and add flexibility to the draft. I am inclined to stick at #9 if a blue chip player drops. I would not pass on Ed Oliver, for example, just to add picks because we have holes on the roster.
  21. So far as I can tell, the rumor about shopping this fella is directly tied to the rumor that he is included in a possible deal for OBJ. It's all nebulous, but if the latter is the correct scenario, it's not really true that the Browns are looking to deal Zeitler. He's a possible piece in a chance at a mercurial, but talented wr. He's not actually a potential target for other teams.
  22. If there was a zero star option, I'd vote. It's awful.
  23. We could invest in the oline. Need quite a few fellas and there are some decent options in free agency.
  24. Trent Brown. Ja'wuan James, and Mitch Morse ought to be our targets to remake the oline. Move Dawkins to LG. Draft DL at nine where the talent is at the top, then wr, te, rb.
