What does abortion have to do with your comment? -
McCain's five words that sealed my vote...
Chilly replied to Boatdrinks's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The abortion issue is just oh so important when picking a political candidate. -
Thanks for the long post and comments. This league is a bit of a strange one, as there are some people who aren't fantasy gurus at all, and that can change the normal draft patterns tremendously. I ended up with the 10th pick overall, and really was targeting someone like Scheffler, Davis, or Daniels in round 9, but all three went before I picked, so I ended up not getting a TE till round 11. I'm going to try to do TE by committee this year, as LJ Smith and Zach Miller both have pretty easy schedules, and their SOS compliments each othe well. Either that, or I'm hoping LJ can return to his pre-injury form. To give you an idea though, Witten went in round 3, Gates, Winslow(I had a shot at Winslow, but took Holt over him), Gonzalez, Cooley in round 4, Dallas Clark 5.01. TEs were going early and I got better value by waiting, but got a bit burned by it when the TEs went in round 9.

Good post Jimmy.. Only thing I'd disagree with is I'd like a little more O-line depth, but you can't accomplish it all in one off-season. -
McCain doesn't know how many houses he has?
Chilly replied to JK2000's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The use of the terms "many", "most", "some", are important, since at any given time regardless of overall economic circumstances, there are some people losing their homes. The debate on the economy is always degree, not whether some people are maying their mortgages or not. Anyway, back to the original post: McCain got "SFOWNED" (in Billdoze language) by Obama on the whole elitist thing, but... Didn't Obama call the politicians using elitist attacks as participating in "Silly Season", and insinuating that they aren't his brand of politics? -
Ah, the great definition problem, I forgot about this when making my post. What I posted above was for the terrorists that we refuse to talk to. Tom's post brings up an important point, though: From everything I've seen, none of these hard-line stances are really all that hard-line, they're more campaign slogans than anything.

Peter King, let me introduce you to AKC

Depends on how far you look. If you are counting "Day 1" of the draft, the Bills have drafted 3 since 2001 (when they let Ted Washington go). I don't disagree that the Bills should have devoted more resources specifically to the DT position (I'll leave AKC's argument alone). They would have been well served to take someone like a Tommie Harris, or spend their bucks better on the good free agent DTs over the years. -
Good ol' PFT, rampant speculation, not much fact.

I'd much, much rather have the draft that the Bills had in 2006 than the one the Bucs did. The Bills have produced many more quality players from that draft than the Bucs. That being said, I'd have no problems arguing that the Bills seriously dropped the ball by selecting McCargo (and especially trading up for him). It's also an interesting example of precisely my point: The Bills traded up to get the DT, but it was a sub-par player, pointing to the problem in their player evaluations (rather than the positions that they are drafting). -

Really? I've argued that it didn't turn out that way? Please, show me where, Mr. "anti-promoting falsehoods against those of us who come here to actually talk about football". I argued that it wasn't necessarily a weak receiver class because none went at #11. I also argued that taking a WR at #11 wouldn't have doomed us this year, and that we had no idea what the Bills draft board was before they drafted. I believe that the appropriate rebuttal to this nonsense was posted above. Funny, everything you've accused us of doing is exactly what you've been doing in this thread. You, sir, might at this point be the most amusing poster on the board. Please show me one person on this board that doesn't think the lack of quality DTs has been a major reason why the Bills have been a poor team. And they can also cite teams who have built their O-lines primarily from low round picks, UDFAs, and FAs. There is more than one way to building a football team. Look, I won't disagree with you that Peters needs a salary increase, but claiming "they want him to play for peanuts" is a bit far from reality. I believe Levy was already retired when this trade was made.... Here is where you hit on the problem with the Bills - it has been the scouting department's evaluation of linemen. Since Reuben Brown, the Bills have selected 8 players on the OL or DL in the first two rounds of the draft. Is the problem how often the Bills are picking these players, or their personnel evaluation in the draft and thus the players they selected? -
- These groups are large, loose-network entities that span the globe. The way the groups are setup is to dissolve tracking and responsibility. There are no guarantees that if the US comes to an agreement with the leader of the group, everyone would follow. That alone is a strong enough deterrent to not peruse such an agreement. - There are no consequences for the terrorists if they break their agreement. Terrorist groups aren't exactly a known entity (like a nation-state) which has clear boundaries and it is easy to retaliate upon. - Many of the goals that they desire (such as political goals of taking over a country, regime change, etc.) are goals that we won't ever be able to provide to them. - As stated above, legitimizes an entity which shouldn't be legitimized.

Eh, I'd put Plaxico above Holmes and Calvin Johnson.

Are Calvin Johnson or Santonio Holmes available? I'd take either of them over Cotch.
