  1. Ragland is an incredible player. He is not quite as good as CJ Mosley was against the pass, but much, much better against the run. Ragland is a whole lot stronger.
  2. No they really do not. Imo he is a brick wall in the middle.
  3. That is one great point you make! And btw, your signature is hilarious. I have come to appreciate the humor on this board more and more. The screen names are just SO good, I think they are worthy of a thread.
  4. :) :) I thought I was bad!
  5. Sure Dave but if the pick would have been Ebron, who would you blame? Or would we be here saying that he "needs more time?"
  6. I guess time will tell and of course, I hope I am wrong. Of one thing I AM certain: This team really does need a good draft. We shot our free agency load so to speak on Clay and McCoy. By the way, your response was a good one and was way funnier than it was probably intended to be.
  7. First of all, the kids from LSU aren't so bad, wouldn't you agree? And again, EJ Manuel (a Whaley blunder) was the quarterback when he made this deal. John from Hemet posts that if not for injuries, Sammy might be the best. Maybe so. And if he WAS seriously injured the Bills would be missing not one but 2 first round picks (and a 4th) and this board would be on fire calling for Whaley's job. In other words, there was an awful lot of risk in that deal. I also remind you that we have not had a playoff appearance since the trade was made. Do I blame the trade? No I don't but the results are what they are. And please, let's not forget that he offered contracts to Spiller and Byrd. He got very lucky there, but there is nothing wrong with good luck, right? In all, Whaley doesn't completely suck. I never claimed that this was the case. Imo he is so-so at best but the team has ben so bad for so long, we as fans tend to embrace any Bill who isn't completely awful and sadly, even some who are (Losman, Manuel, etc.).
  8. I hear ya but I do hope that they bring in another guard via the draft.
  9. First of all, thanks for the dialogue. My fairly strong reservation wrt Whaley is that he is a bit too free with the team resources for my liking. Hey, he certainly has hit a few home runs. Tyrod (I will credit him for TT), Darby, and my man Karlos were fine moves. Sammy, imo, while a ballsy move, was costly. And when the deal was made there was no Tyrod. In retrospect it was a good move but that draft was chock full of top wideouts. EJ was a major blunder, as were Bryce Brown and Kujo. Hiring Rex was a disaster too imo. There were others, such as the McCoy contract. Badol will disagree with me, but imo draft choices are worth more since the rookie salary cap was implemented. No more spending 36 million on a Donte Whitner. I prefer getting more to giving them up. Hey, jmo. If I owned the team I would not let him be reckless with trades and contracts.
  10. A little off topic, but why are you and countless others so ready to part ways with Urbik? It doesn't appear that doing so would save much cap space. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/kraig-urbik/ I don't think he is a tremendous player by any stretch, but who do we have that is better? Miller? I think not. Richardson? Please. I would like to see them keep him AND draft another guard. Jmo.
  11. My post was in no way directed at you. I'm sorry if it seemed to be. Imo, the fact that Shady is a good player is one of the few things that the entire board seems to agree on. The cap space is another issue. Not the money btw. I am not a jealous person, but it's hard for me to feel sorry for a person with 10 billion or so dollars, unless it was over health or family matters. But the point Badol has been trying to make is tough to dispute. When a player has guaranteed cash like this, you are stuck with him for better or worse. RBs don't last. Shady has lots of miles and is already nicked up. It's a tough position. Karlos is probably 2x as strong as Shady and who knows how long he can last? GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. For what it's worth, I agree that extending Whaley is a bad decision. I was hoping that both he and Rex would be shown the door. Am I surprised? Not at all. Who gets the next big contract? Brandon?
  13. Good post. I am no fan of Marrone but the above is hard to dispute.
  14. Badol knew this while they were looking for pens to sign this contract. Is he still "wrong?"
  15. Isn't Dalton still injured?
  16. I am rooting for the Bengals and think they can win. If they do win, will people be angry? It seems like McCarron will be the starter, and the Bengals got him in the 5th round, AFTER we drafted Cyril Richardson. Plus, there is a thread here about EJ being our #2 qb next year.
  17. I am high on Dak Prescott and hope that the Bills draft him at some point.
  18. Losing Gilmore to draft a corner would remind me of the Thomas Smith, Winfield and Clements days. That said, Gilmore does not now and will never deserve Revis money. Generally speaking, that is WAY too much for a corner. OJ Howard is risky imo. He CAN block and he runs nice patterns too. But, I have seen him drop a few passes. This is 100% speculation on my part. Yes, 100%, but I have seen him where he appears to be not concentrating. The thing is Badol, he was never on a team that really needed to use him that much. His teammates included Cooper, Lacey, Yeldon, Ridley, Henry, and many other top players. For this reason, I think that he might take some time to develop. Now, would I like to see him on the Bills? Yes. He has a high ceiling.
  19. Have you made a decision on your screen name yet? Great minds think alike. This board has amazingly funny screen names.
  20. 1) Whaley will trade away draft selections. 2) They will use the first round pick on a defensive back.
  21. Pooj, a good friend of mine is a jet fanatic and a smart guy/fan. He told me: 1) We were getting a very good coach in Pettine and we would be happy with him. 2) NEVER be fooled by Rex. He is just an inept blowhard.
  22. Brandon and Marrone were Syracuse cronies. I remember reading that they served on some sort of committee together. Brandon should have absolutely no say on this team. He is a liability and not needed at all imo.
  23. Kelly is excellent. He got off to a rather slow start in his career. I think he will be a fine NFL center as long as he can keep his weight up. Btw, I think you will appreciate this. He is even scarier on the field.
  24. @26: >>>>>19. Buffalo Bills: A'Shawn Robinson, DL, Alabama The vaunted Buffalo defense looked mediocre at times this season with many claiming that Rex Ryan's “scheme” was the issue. Robinson is a player who transcends scheme and would give Ryan a player who can play anywhere on the defensive line.<<<<< If the above (which is from your link to CBS Sports) is true, Kyle Williams is through in Buffalo. I do however strongly disagree that Robinson can play "anywhere" on the DL. He is a DT, and he is a fantastic player. Try to catch him on Monday.
