  1. Yep that's what Beane said in yesterday's press conference. But he said things like "I didn't want him blindsided" and "it (trading Diggs) wasnt 100% off the table". But that did not mean that Beane asked for Allen's approval. Beane must have been observing the goings on for the past 2 years, esp after the last contract adjustment for Diggs and his patience had run thin. And then thought - screw this drama esp when Diggs doesn't help put us over the top. At that point, he did not need to seek Allen's approval and I am guessing he did not. Keeping Allen in the loop (obvious and respectful) is different then seeking his blessing.
  2. A WR who fits may become available after the draft , Beane said that. Then there is post June 1 cuts. While hope is not a strategy, the likelihood of one of the two occuring is pretty high given the plethora of good WRs coming into the league via draft.
  3. Fair enough and I was making a collective judgment about this board's sentiment. I am usually not condescending to any player, let alone a Bills ex-player. But clearly Diggs had over-stayed his welcome and it is now evident that many of us (me included) dont feel the tinge of sadness that they did with the other players this offseason.
  4. An observation - remember how this board reacted when we said bye to Morse and White. With a tinge of sadness and many wishes for a bright future. And look how we feel when we saw Diggs bu** go out the door. Eager to put our boot on it. Cant but contrast how they were as team mates and as individuals. We will always think fondly of players like Morse, White....
  5. He wants to be the number 1 in targets and is an attention seeker. He won plenty in Buffalo but that didn't stop his antics. Texans are a good and upcoming team and imo, he provides experience but won't be a needle mover for them A tiger doesn't change his stripes. We will see but I wouldn't bet on Diggs suddenly becoming a team player.
  6. I think this will end badly for the Texans when Diggs starts pouting after realizing he is #2 or #3 on their depth chart. He is going to be a distraction for their excellent young QB. We will see how long Ryans puts up with his attitude. Imo, Ryans will be swifter than McDermott to impose discipline
  7. Its a quick watch. < 2 mins. Basically said it is a loss for the Bills but not a huge one given he faded away for 2 seasons in a row. Allen always having to answer "are you good with Stefon?" etc
  8. Excellent take by Brandt. Much as I feel sad in seeing Diggs go, I agree with all of what he said
  9. RIP. Very saddening.
  10. Need? Absolutely not. So, no. No to a first round DB when it's a deep draft for WR and we need one , badly. Did I say no?
  11. Good for him! Glad he landed somewhere. One of the two best 1st round DBs drafted by the Bills in the last 30 years (Antonio Winfield Sr).
  12. Imo, Taylor will come in if Rodgers is hurt.
  13. Wilson is not starter material and I agree that with Taylor on the team, Wilson is useless for the Jets. But it also makes me wonder what the Jets' long term plan for a starting QB is. Rodgers will play for what another 2 seasons max? What then? I post this not with any genuine concern but with a sense of glee.
  14. That's already happened. Torrence and Kincaid started and Benford, a 6th round rookie, did too Yea, speed by itself isn't the determining factor for safety, or any position for that matter. But speed in our D backfield is needed to cover the likes of Tyreek Hill.
  15. Could have gotten us Justin Fields if we had wanted 😃
  16. I suppose you won't tell us who this "someone" is either. I hate you. That and a lot of virtual nasty looks at @Kirby Jackson
  17. I am pretty sure you are wrong but this season will show us more. I think he did very well in his rookie season and appears to be a good kid. So I expect him to work on his craft and improve. Let us temper expectations about his stats though. Presuming we add a blue chip WR in the first round, there will be a lot of good hands for Allen to throw to. On the Chiefs, Kelce is their #1 receiving threat. Kincaid doesn't and should not need to be that for the Bills. WR should be primary and TE for blocking, making lot of first downs and scoring TDs.
  18. Is this one of those times?
  19. Waitaminnutt You are saying @Beck Water sometimes does lie? 🤔
  20. This is my take as well. The way he was used was different with Brady and made me believe it was Dorsey's asks of him which limited his effectiveness as well as his development. Perhaps Dorsey did not trust him enough to run the deeper and more complex routes? Now it is up to Kincaid to put in the work in the off season on his body, his mechanics and understanding of route concepts. If he does that, I truly believe he will be one of the top 3 TEs next season. There is no reason to believe he won't put in the work - kid looks to be a good dude.
  21. Fair points but the way I look at it, which position group which is currently weak can positively impact the outcome of games if filled? Imo, it's an outside WR who will complement the current group of receivers and then allow a broader set of plays almost impossible for an opposing team to defend. If we hit on such a WR in the draft, even if he has 50-60 catches, those will change the nature of our passing game. As I said a few days ago, we have gone down the road of beating the chiefs by loading up on defense. Yet we failed every time it mattered. Time to take a different strategy and complement our best asset JA17
  22. That cannot be labelled "worst mistake" in a vacuum. Generally on stacked rosters or in a weak draft class, this is true. But, this is a rare year where our weakness is matched with a good draft class for that position. Besides that, our main rival also needs WRs and will undoubtedly pick the best available at their #32 spot. So, if the BPA is a DT and the next best WR is let's say ranked #29-#31 on the Bills' board, you take the WR to strengthen your own team to help outscore the Chiefs and also to keep that guy away from that rival. Doing anything but a WR would be a great example of being a slave to the BPA strategy without thinking of these other angles. I don't think Beane will get too cute. He will draft a WR at #28 or move up a bit
  23. And thereby risking the Chiefs take the next best WR? I seriously doubt it. The last thing we need is for Beane to be such a slave to the value charts that he passes on a WR he has pegged as a #30 pick (as an example) because "the value wasn't there". I would rather be move up a bit or down before the Chiefs to get a WR.
  24. 6th rounder which can become a 4th rounder ? I didn't think we was perceived around the league so poorly
  25. Cook needs to work on his catches. Towards the end of the season he was dropping too many balls for my liking
