  1. I am more pessimistic about this season than most of you. Imo, there are a lot of question marks at DB, WR and DE positions to place us in the top 8. A lot of things have to fall in place for the team to have as good a record as last year. Allen can only carry this team so far. If a couple of positions have injuries or the additions don't perform well, this season could be one of the poorest of the Allen era (save his rookie year). I am normally a pretty optimistic guy but this the least hopeful I have felt in the last 4 years.
  2. There once was a boy from Opelousas Who was slower than a snail in mollases When his QB threw him the ball to score The snail reached first and had a snore And the boy was left pining for Macy's
  3. - Hurts needs a good supporting cast to be successful but he appears to be a good guy - Sirianni is an a**hat - The writer of that article needs to learn how to use a spell check feature
  4. If this were to come to pass (in next few months that is), I will buy you a beer
  5. It will be quite ironic if this thread dragged on ad nauseum (And by replying I extended it by one more post)
  6. First of all, the Diggs discussion has covered literally hundreds of pages on this forum and the consensus is that his departure does not hurt much. I am not going to dive into the main reasons. He wasn't a savior these past two seasons, fading away at the end of each. Surprising to see you defending him And no one is annointing Claypool as a savior. I for one still want to acquire a top one. But he has initially surprised watchers by his attitude in OTAs which he doesn't seem to have displayed at his previous stops. That is a step in the right direction. What you are reading is people hoping he has turned it around mentally. It happens in life. A lot. I have personally seen it (not in sports) and have confidence that individuals can indeed turn their life around by mentally re-setting themselves. If Claypool is one of them, and granted it's a big IF, then the overall WR room is pretty good due to the diversity of skill sets.
  7. I was scratching my head at this post But relieved after reading this one.
  8. Too bad about Doyle. He served his purpose on the team well. Does this free up any cap $$?
  9. No kidding . This thread has been totally hijacked.
  10. I am sure he is a high ceiling guy
  11. Are you seriously complaining that a Bills GM is getting media attention (positive)??
  12. Good thinking but that is going to be a VERY interesting division. Imo, Vikings and Bears all added talent. WIth the Packers on the upswing and the Lions also having a good team, its going to become the AFCE version of the NFC. Providing of course that McCarthy and Williams are half way competent out of the gates. But they have ready receiving talent to help them along.
  13. Come on guys. He seems like a good kid. Lets wish for his success (obligatory "except against the Bills"). The league is better with more good QBs and not fewer. It makes games more fun and the league as a whole more interesting.
  14. It's quite strange but a single addition like Aiyuk, Metcalf or maybe Deebo Samuel immediately vaults the WR room to top 5
  15. I certainly see @Captain Hindsight's name in a whole new light now
  16. He is a veteran and doesn't need to be there to gel with his new QB /sarcasm
  17. Ironic that you are saying this
  18. Or just preparing for a trade with Seattle or SF 😁
  19. His career has been underwhelming, he certainly does not have the "I didn't have a QB" excuse, his catch percent is Davis-esque. The concerns are very justified, no where near "zero sense". It is very much non-zero
  20. You cannot be serious with this take. Marrone's choice of OC would have sunk that marriage. A rookie OC to pair with a rookie QB would have seriously hampered Allen's development and probably destroyed his career.
  21. I read your post to be a general question about who I would want added. DK Metcalf
  22. Last year, with the Titans, he had 75 catches for 1000+ yards, 7 TDs . Rumours of his career's demise are premature
  23. At this point it is hope and speculation at best. But if @Einstein's Dog's numbers are even approximately correct , DHop is an acquirable target who can materially assist the team for this and next season with a manageable price tag. I would like a younger player like DK Metcalf or Aiyuk but it will be a large impact on cap for next few years which will again limit the ability to sign FAs in the coming seasons. Imo, Beane has learned his lessons on that . My guess is that if we are going to add anyone, go after DHop and slightly overpay from a draft pick perspective. That will provide a solid veteran presence , round off the skill set and allow time for Coleman to mature. We can always draft another WR high next year and keep the funnel full. Shavers, Claypool, Cephus, Hamler are dispensable. if we are going to limit the WR room to 6, the following is a good set DHop Samuel Shakir Coleman MVS One of Hollins and Shorter
  24. Please dont say "ground up and in the freezer" in front of him
  25. Coleman hasn't played a down yet. We all hope he plays well but there is no guarantee. And even if he is good, he is still a rookie. You may trust the WR room today, I don't.
