2020 NFL Draft: Round 1 discussion

As with the Packers, I would have advocated that the Lions pick a QB at #3. But as good as Stafford's stats are, he has been unable to do anything of significance to lift the overall team including when he had one of the most dynamic receivers Megatron with him. When they had such a high pick, they should have started the transition to a new offense. -

In true Packers fashion. Will be interesting if Rodgers sulks like Favre did -

I guess they are playing the odds by amassing 13 picks. -
Bills sign OL Garrett McGhin
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Imo, quite the opposite. I suspect that given the number of bodies we have on OL, he may use it as an trading chip. Next 3 days will be interesting. -

So lets see... You serve, follow the draft in depth which means you also track college players, follow the games, provide briefs to UK cabinet ministers ??! Sound like an interesting guy. Keep Kim out cos she is always going to be hot -
Any chance Tua lands in New England?

The Bills have been that proverbial little brother, slapped around by a combination of great coach who arguably made a great QB. Until the Bills prove that they have built a bigger bully, do you truly not care of a redux ? -
Thick as a Brick is the quintessential concept album as well as a fantastic "song". The music just flows so smoothly with occasional raging parts. With a scotch in a quiet area, you can get lost listening to it in its entirety. Other great choices too in this thread such as from Genesis, Rush

Interesting Player Starting to Slide
Fan in Chicago replied to Madd Charlie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you expect his ceiling to be a # 2 or #3 next year, he should not be the pick. Our window of opportunity is open and we need to pick a player who will help the team now. -
Hauscka came on late in the season but his early struggles warrant concern. I would like the Bills to draft a punter as well as a kicker in this draft. Much as any other position, let camp decide who stays and who goes. My logic for using the final round picks is that - players at other positions rarely stick with a team. Also, given that many of the kickers and punters are undrafted, using our picks secures their services with little opportunity cost.

Mike Clay 2020 team projections: Bills
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Comparison of his W-L projections and actual. I bolded his projections whcih were off my more than about 2 games (I chose this number as 2 games can change the rankings significantly, feel free to disagree). My point is that he was off by a lot Ravens 7.8 14 Bills 7.1 10 Panthers 7.8 5 Bears 9.1 8 Bengals 6.1 2 Browns 10 6 Cowboys 9 8 Broncos 5.1 7 Lions 7.3 3 Packers 9.1 13 Texans 8.8 10 Colts 6.8 7 Jaguars 7.7 6 Chiefs 10.2 12 Chargers 10.3 5 Rams 11.3 9 Dolphins 4.1 5 Vikings 8.9 10 Patriots** 11.1 12 Saints 10.9 13 Giants 5.8 4 Jets 7.2 7 Raiders 5.5 7 Eagles 11.1 9 Steelers 8.9 8 Seahawks 7.5 11 49ers 7.1 13 Bucs 7.2 7 Titans 7.7 9 Redskins 4.8 3 -
Would you sign a Vet QB or draft a QB vs Barkley?
Fan in Chicago replied to Marshallp29's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the choices you offer, I would get Flacco due to his experience and keep Barkley till after the draft. If we land a decent backup-quality guy in the latter rounds, jettison Barkley. -
Positional flexibility undoubtedly went into his evaluation.

RB is a really GLARING need, right?
Fan in Chicago replied to Richard Noggin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not denying that RB is a need. But if we do nothing more in FA, on draft day, DE is a more premium position than RB for Rd 2. I do want a RB, but in Rd 4 or lower. -

Fan in Chicago replied to Richard Noggin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your paragraph 1 and 4 seem contradictory w.r.t RB vs DE. We have a good RB in Singletary and if an equivalently rated player who is a DE were to be available, we undoubtedly should pick the latter. The value to the team would be much higher via pash rushing flexibility compared to a lower round RB who would compete with Singletary for touches. I would prefer drafting said DE and then picking a complementary back to Singletary. To your point about WR, if the BPA is a WR at #54, I would go for him as the impact to the team is higher than a RB. Depending on the skill set, Beasley can be trade bait in this scenario. -
I too watched every snap he played and came away with the same opinion. But I decided to keep my analysis to myself so my unsupported thoughts wouldn't remove all doubts about my ignorance
