  1. I must say it is fun reading all these "reports" though.
  2. Pure speculation on your part. Again, we don't know ANY of the truth and will not even when this whole saga is over.
  3. Who cares? I want neither.
  4. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...ls-again-today/ Florio picked up the article also. While I do find it interesting that the author of the article did say the Bills staff was getting axed prior to it happening. Not sure I give 100% credence to he'll be in town. Kinda hope it is true though.
  5. My predictions for 2010: - The Bills will have a new HC - Jerry Sullivan will be angry about the above - President Obama will address the nation - The New York legislature will still suffer from Rectal Cranial Inversion - In December, iPod sales will go up - The Bills 1st round draft pick will immediately be viewed as a "bust" - This nations debt will increase - "unconfirmed sources" will have information on our new HC And my most bold prediction: The Buffalo Bills will improve to 7-9
  6. Right, and Shanny didn't have the 'Skins job a few weeks ago. The thing is, we have no idea what is really going on with any of this. For all we know Cowher could be looking for houses in OP right now. The only time we'll know what is really going on is when the HC is named, and we still won't know even 85% of the backstory anyway.
  7. While the potential for a lockout after next year makes it interesting, I say BS also. Cowher: "yeah, I know you have 4 years left on your current teams contract, but how about ditching that and coming to Buffalo for 1 year?"
  8. I remember being at work and checking this site often for news on the next HC. As I recall Sherman, Haslett, Fassel were all candidates then all of a sudden, BAM the hire DJ. Total disappointment. I truly hope the Ralph is NOT the driving force on the HC hiring, that it is Nix and the right guy will get the job based on his ability, not his paycheck. Hope all the Cowher not coaching this year is just a smokescreen, but I have a bad feeling it isn't.
  9. Schotty was on record as stating he would not coach again prior to taking the Chargers job. Also, as reported on WGR this morning, either Mort or Schefter stated that Shotty does have the urge to coach again. Sorry no link. I do have a weird feeling that Shotty does end up or HC.
  10. Wow. On the front page of bb.com also. Kinda changes things a bit, unless it's more disinformation?
  11. Excellent point. Just pay Cowher and get it done.
  12. Actually, that makes me feel better about all this. Makes me think he has heard both sides and this is all probably a public negotiation. The Bills may have put themselves in this position with the whole 10 Million thing. FWIW, just pay the man, 11...12 million, he is the best available (notwithstanding Shotty, if he chooses to coach again), just get it done.
  13. Warrow on ESPN now. Shocker it's so fast Shocker about April Speculation about length of time to look for HC may yield new HC now Who may be in play? - Cowher "big name" and Ralph will spend big money now, others include: should be - frazier, brian shotty. Wonders if Daddy Shotty might be good fit re: has history with Nix. Didn't really say anything of substance.
  14. No. But I did hear the report this morning from Mort that despite what is being said by Shotty, he does have the desire to coach again. This was also speculated last week.
  15. Don't forget about Shotty.
  16. I will definitely temper my enthusiasm, but I can't help but believe they have a coach in place who has a staff. It would need to be one of the guys who are not working, such as Shotty or Cowher. As for April, who cares. If we have a HC as good as Shotty or Cowher, ST would take care of itself.
  17. Yes. I see Nix as more of the head of the scouting/pro personnel departments, less of the overall team GM. I could easily see Cowher stepping in as the HC with final say in all player decisions with Nix assessing the talent.
  18. Not that I give a darn if he coaches, but it would be a certainty given his coordinator background.
  19. No to most, especially Callahan. Reeves seems a bit out of touch the last time he coached and, although I think he's a funny guy, no way on Mooch also. As much as I would love to see him on the Bills sideline, I really don't believe Cowher is coming to Buffalo. My top picks, ones that are available, are Dungy then Shotty. I would also love to see Fisher fired and us land him. If he were available, he would absolutely be my top pick, maybe even over Cowher.
  20. Ownership is what he wants.
  21. Fewell has head coach "experience".
  22. Can't get the Kelly video to work past 3 seconds. Got the Thomas on though. It's apparent these guys are, right now, in some roll with the team. Be it ownership, scouting or whatnot. One thing is for certain, they know more than they are saying, or not saying. I believe they have the coach picked out they want and the Nix hiring reflects that. The guy they want OK'd the move already and is putting together a staff. Remember, the Bills talked with Weiss and he said he was interested, my guess it would be as OC. I think the begining of next week we should see a new regime in place, hierarchy of who does what, including Kelly and Thurman. I believe our head coach will be named within the next two weeks as he probably already has the job. Maybe it's all just wishfull thinking, but I have a strang feeling about all of this.
  23. Actually, no. Listend to John Clayton on WGR yesterday and he mentioned that Marty said the same things about not returning to coaching prior to taking the job in SD. I believe Shotty would come back, if it is the right job. I think he would want a chance to redeem himself after going 14-2 and getting axed.
  24. Gone: - Edwards - His head is way too messed up to be useable in Buffalo - Lynch - Jackson is much better, we could use the cap dollars, maybe draft pick. - D-line - need to get bigger, faster, stronger and nastier. Maybe one of our most important needs in the offseason - Our strenght and conditioning coach - AVP - love the guy, but hasn't shown much as OC and when he was QB coach, what did he really do with Edwards? Stays: - O-line - I actually like the line we have, just need to make sure who our LT is. Like our guards (keep Incongnito) and center. Another year together should help. - DB's - With the exception of Whitner, they all can stay - LB's - Mitchell and Poz can stay. Remember a good D-line makes your LB's and DB's look better - Maybin - as an OLB until he "grows into his body" - Fewell - would not mind seeing him stay as DC (even though it won't happen), with and upgraded D-line - our DB coach Needs: - WR - OLB - DL - 2nd string RB - Tight End, probably on our roster already
  25. Most teams these days build around the divisional competition. Weiss would be good as he knows NE. Also, I toss out his ND career as that is a totally different animal vs. the NFL.
