  1. If Beane continues paying Von and Tre millions of dollars when he no longer has to and cuts Douglas, he deserves to be fired. Would Von or Tre get much more than a vet minimum deal right now if they got cut?
  2. Agreed. We won 6 games in row including a playoff game and took KC to the brink with no or minimal contributions from Tre, Milano, Von, and Knox… 4 of our 7 highest cap hits. I will be disappointed if Beane doesn’t use the next 3 weeks to clean up the cap.
  3. Yet we were still the 2 seed the last 2 years. The problem is if these bad contracts aren’t addressed properly going forward. Beane was just handed a giant gift with the huge cap increase this year and going forward.
  4. I don’t know. Seemed like Bills had to coax Tre back on field after the ACL injury. Add the achilles tear and there’s no way I’m guaranteeing him any new money. We all love Tre but it’s time to move on.
  5. Tasker isn’t wrong. Elam has more upside at corner and I think Douglas would be a pro bowl safety. He’s a ball hawk that likes to hit.
  6. Exactly. Cut the non-performing contracts and split it over the next 2 years. This is a gift to McBeane. Do not pay Miller another penny. Same with Tre.
  7. So you’re good paying another $6.5m to Miller in a month when he couldn’t beat out Kingsley Jonathan for snaps? Take the gift of the extra $13m in cap this year and 13.5% that it’s most likely increasing every year after and be done with Miller. Same with Tre. Take the medicine and move on.
  8. There are always guys in free agency that don’t get what they think they’re worth in the first couple waves of free agency and decide a 1 year $6m deal with a Josh Allen throwing to them is their best bet.
  9. https://www.spotrac.com/news/whats-next-buffalo-bills-2199/ I wouldn’t deal Bates and there’s no way I’m paying Miller the $6.5 that’s due in March.
  10. Agree with this. We won’t be shopping in the 1st or even 2nd wave of free agency for WR but if we don’t get a 1st round WR, I think we’d be a popular destination for a free agent WR on a 1 year deal that didn’t get the money they wanted in the 1st and 2nd wave of free agency.
  11. Kind of amazing that we won 6 games in a row at end of year and got 2 seed when you look at our cap. Miller and Tre are done, Milano 2nd major injury of his 6 year career, Knox is now a nice #2 Tight End, and Diggs was playing like #2 WR second half of year. 5 of our top 7 cap hits are either non-producing or under-performing their contracts.
  12. The gift that keeps giving. He’s due $5m roster bonus in march that’s guaranteed. Paying him $10m this year to be a glorified Quentin Morris.
  13. pass on Jones. 32 year old who missed 10 games last year. No thanks unless it’s close to vet minimum.
  14. 3 to 1 odds equates to 75% chance he’s a Bill this year. Seems right.
  15. Diggs has zero guaranteed money left on his contract, so if we cut him before March 17th Bills don’t owe him another penny. It’s just a matter of accounting for the $31m in remaining bonus and restructuring cap charges. That’s not real money. It’s already been paid.
  16. My read is if Bills trade Diggs pre June 1 the dead cap is $31m. Same dead cap if they cut him before March 18th when his $19m 2024 salary becomes guaranteed but they can spread the $31m over 2 years if they designate him as a post June 1 cap causality. People are too focused on the Bills being $50m over the cap right now when at least $50m can be freed up pain free and will be in the next 4 weeks.
  17. Agreed. 16 catches for 140 yards, 0 TD’s on 35 targets in our last 4 playoffs losses. He’s a good WR but ain’t that dude and never was. He complained his way out of Minnesota to find a situation where he’d get more targets. Kudos to him for betting on Josh before others outside of Buffalo did. Josh is now unquestionably a top 3 QB and we can do better at #1WR. Mike Evans please.
  18. No way I’m restructuring Diggs. 16 catches for 140 yards with zero TD’s on 35 targets in our last 4 playoff losses. We need a #1 WR to get over the hump. I’d much prefer moving on altogether and bring in Mike Evans. The Chiefs and Bengals have too many of their own guys to sign. Playing with Josh is Evans best option. At a minimum, get Diggs, White, and Von off the books this year and spread the dead cap over 2 years while we still have a plethora of good young starters on rookie deals like Benford, Bernard, Rousseau, Kincaid, Shakir, Cook, Cyrus, and Brown.
  19. The thing is all the injuries this year showed McBeane you can still win without keeping/paying every decent player you’ve drafted the last 6 years.
  20. Trading Diggs vs keeping him on his current deal adds $3m to the 2024 cap. Evans is unquestionably an upgrade to Diggs. Evans even at $20m+ per year contract wouldn’t take up more than $10m in cap in 2024. So for $13m more in cap you upgrade Diggs to Evans and add a starter to your secondary. It’s unlikely but not unthinkable.
  21. Tannenbaum suggested a Diggs-Tyrique stevenson trade to Bears. I have to say if we could flip Diggs for a starter on a rookie deal then bring in Mike Evans in free agency I’d give that some serious thought.
  22. Will be interesting to see what happens with Von. There’s no way McBeane can pay him the $6m+ that becomes guaranteed on march 18th. First ballot hall of famers I assume don’t want the stigma of being cap casualties. Could see the $6m+ converted to not-likely-to-be-earned incentives considering he barely played any snaps last year which would save the Bills $6m against the cap and Von still gets the $6m if he plays more snaps than last year.
  23. If I’m bringing in a 30+ year old pass rusher, I’d prefer Kahlil Mack once he’s inevitably cut by Chargers.
